8 TO GO Jocelyn Springer had a very sucessful weekend between the pipes, collecting her third clean-sheet of the season and the teams fourth overall. Her seven save performance has pushed her just eight saves away from cracking the all-time singles season saves list and push-ing Lauren Karinshak just off the top. Springer is also currently sitting in fifth all-time in Goals Against Average for her career. If all falls into place this will be the second consecutive season that the Eagle keepers have moved onto the all-time lists in multiple categories.

ARKANSAS DREAMING To close out the 2018 regular season, the Georgia Southern women’s soccer team will travel to Jonesboro, Arkansas and Little Rock, Arkansas to face off against Arkansas State and Little Rock. The Eagles and Red Wolves are both fighting for a spot in the conference tour-nament and are currently tied with 9 points. The Eagles have never lost in Jones-boro, posting a 2-0-0 record on the road and a perfect 2-0-0 record inside Eagle Field. In 2015 the Eagles traveled to Jonesboro and defeated the Red Wolves 3-1. In 2016 they returned to Arkansas to defeat the Red Wolves 2-1. The story is a little different for Lit-tle Rock. The Eagles have posted a 1-2-1 record against the Trojans and have never won at the Coleman Sports Complex. In 2015 the Blue and White pushed a 0-0 draw and in 2016 the Eagles were defeated 0-3. The Eagles will need to gain points this weekend to ensure a spot in the confer-ence tournament and hold three of the four tiebreakers.

SHOOOOOT! Shoot! That was the message on Sun-day to the team and has been the message all season. Tyler Gordon did just that this season and leads the team with 38 shots. Gordon has recorded one goal and three assists, with 17 shots on goal. Brogan Boudreaux heads into the fi-nal week of the season with 25 shots and 12 on goal. She also has posted two goals and has one game winner. Boudreaux is followed closely by Junique Rodriguez who posts 24 shots with 12 of those being on goal. Rogriguez has recorded one goal on the season as well. The Eagles have tallied 178 shots on the season ad have scored 15 goals on the year. The Blue and White began the season scoreless, falling to Florida Gulf Coast and Chattanooga. The Eagles finally got on the board in their third game of the season, scoring against Jack-sonville State to win 1-0.

CONFERENCE STANDINGS With the season’s end rapidly approaching, the Georgia Southern women’s soccer team clings to the final tournament spot with two games to play. The Eagles will look to clinch a spot with a win on Friday against Arkansas State. The Eagles are currently tied for seventh with 9 points and will be heading to Arkansas State this weekend. The Red Wolves are tied with the Eagles and neither team holds a tiebreaker at this point. Friday will be a big match for both program’s as it will determine who makes the tournament. The Red Wolves currently hold the tiebreaker versus the highest rated seeds, as the Eagles hold an 0-2-0 record against Texas State and Coastal Carolina, while Arkansas State holds a 0-1-0 record and has yet to play Coastal Carolina.
