2018 Free Oracle Cards

This booklet contains 9 oracle cards created by All Natural Spirit throughout the year of 2018. It contains 3 crystals, 3 spirit animals and 3 herbal

totems. The crystals are associated with the chakras, the spirit animals with planets and the

herbal totems with the elements. They all include public domain photos, but attribution is

still given to the source.

I have made a list of the symbols and their correspondences at the end of the document. Please attribute all cards to All Natural Spirit

when you use them for personal, online purposes or for client readings. However, production and selling of the cards is not

allowed through this licence.

Amethyst

Mineralogy:

Occurrence:

Amethyst (quartz) regularly form inside large geodes within volcanic rock or

are mined from opencast veins, which occur in drusty cavities of granitic

rocks. Amethyst is sourced worldwide. The largest producer of amethyst is

Zambia and Russia produce high grade stones.

Metaphysical Properties: Stone of Clarity

Amethyst urges us to look to the future and at your life with foresight, but do

not become enraptured in the visions for you still have to live in the present.

It instils wisdom by letting you understanding that sometimes things require a

guided hand, whereas others should be left to their own devices. Often you

will have to venture into the unknown to discover yourself. But, beware for

these discoveries are not always what they seem. Use you intuition, trust your

instincts and let the path fall before you. If obstacles arise, do not

force you way through, simply build a bridge over to the other

side. Through this message amethyst gives itself as a companion

during meditation and shadow work. With its comforting

presence it assists you to chart your own road map to yourself.

History:

This enigmatic mollusc, whose Latin name translates to footed-head, continues to

amazed both divers and scientists alike. Octopi can be found in nearly every ocean that

spans the Earth. Supreme intelligence, coupled with a supple body and nimble sucker

appendages makes them capable of extraordinary feats of subterfuge and jail breaking.

A Hawaiian myth depicts the octopus as the creator of this realm, while others believe

that the octopus is an alien, a relic from a universe that existed prior to ours.

Metaphysical Guidance: Craft, Manipulate & Escape

"Have you ever heard a blindfolded octopus unwrap a cellophane-covered bathtub?" by

Norton Juster, The Phantom Tollbooth (1961) is a colourful illustration of the

resourcefulness of the octopus. The octopus is a master of physical transformation and

its problem-solving prowess made it the Houdini of the animal kingdom.

To this end the octopus wields both fortune and cunning to its advantage,

demonstrating that we too can manifest dreams in the physical world as

well as finding resolutions to both earth-bound and spiritual problems.

We must continue to hone our creative skills as they will serve us well

throughout the many trails and tribulations we will come to face.

Uses:

The quintessential rose is known as the Queen of the Flowers. It has been cultivated for

over 5000 years and more than 150 varieties exist today. The Romans scattered petals at

the feet of newly weds and victorious warriors returning from battle. Traditionally roses

are associated with love and passion, making the red rose the most popular colour. The

rose is also attributed to several gods and goddesses of love, such as Aphrodite, Venus

and Cupid.

Metaphysical Properties: Beauty, Love & Protection

“But ne'er the rose without the thorn.”, a statement by the poet Robert Herrick in „The

Rose‟ speaks to the nature of this flower. The rose is delicate and beautiful, but it does

not forget to protect itself with sharp thorns and serrated leaves. The rose reminds us to

be open and authentic about who we are, but never forget our thorns. You must always

protect your inner beauty and not to give it away easily. Emotions such as

love are as beautiful as they are dangerous. Ensure that the one you love

will be true and kind, only then may you surrender your thorns to their

embrace.

Occurrence:

Tiger Eye is a type of quartz or metamorphic rock known as a chatoyant

gemstone (optically reflective) due to parallel intergrowth of quartz crystals. It

also contains alternating amphibole fibres, some of which have become

limonite (hydrated iron (III) oxide-hydroxides). The primary sources of Tiger

Eye are mined in South Africa and Western Australia.

Metaphysical Properties: Stone of Protection

Tiger Eye is connected to both the sun and the earth. Golden sun rays and

grounded browns afford it an energizing and stabilising presence. It can be

used in conjunction with clear quartz to remove impurities and to enhance its

protective properties. Tiger Eye reminds us to be steadfast during challenging

times and to move forward with wilful intent. Let the sun that burns within

fuel the desire and drive towards progress, but always remain

grounded and rooted in truth and reality. The sun above and the

earth below lends stable energy and steady footsteps, which leads

to the strength and determination to reach for your dreams and to

manifest them in the present.

History:

Spiders are a diverse group of fascinating creatures with a myriad of tricks with which

to catch their prey. Spider silk produced by special glands is a natural wonder. A multi-

purpose sticky protein with the tensile strength of high-grade alloy steel yet remains

extremely ductile, which can be stretched up to five times its relaxed length without

breakage! Due to the amazing ability of spiders to create webs, they are associated with

the Divine Feminine and are the great weavers of both dreams and fate.

Metaphysical Guidance: Create, Express & Dream

"A spider lowered itself, fathom by fathom, on a perilous length of thread and was

suddenly transfixed in the path of a sunbeam and, for an instant, was a thing of radiant

gold.” by Mervyn Peake in Gormenghast (1950) is a gorgeous illustration of the

miracle that is the spider. She reminds us to choose our own path, yet

remain true to your nature and to respect the gifts from your ancestors.

She shows us how to weave the threads of fate (past), will (present) and

destiny (future) into an harmonious web of life. The spider teaches us

how to take what we have learned from the past to inform our present

choices with which to create the future we seek.

Uses:

The resurrection plant is a woody, resinous shrub and it known for its amazing ability to

revive seemingly dead leaves after rain. It can withstand long periods of inactivity

during which it tolerates extreme dehydration and is able to recover quickly without

physiological damage. It also produces flowers after months of dormancy and thus has

become a symbol of hope in African cultures.

Metaphysical Properties: Hope, Endurance & Survival

“I am prepared for the worst, but hope for the best”, an extract from „The Wonderous

Tale of Alroy‟ by Benjamin Disraeli (1833) illustrates the stance of the resurrection

plant. It is aware that life can be a cruel and unforgiving mistress, yet it has not

forgotten to hold out hope for more promising times. It reminds us that when life

becomes dire, we should retreat deep within our spiritual sanctuaries and simply

survive. However, never loose sight of your path and do not doubt your

abilities, since you are already well equipped to navigate life‟s

challenges. If you are mindful of your resources they will see you

through until you are able to replenish your reserves. When the storm has

passed you can flourish once more.

Occurrence:

Malachite is produced through chemical precipitation from deep underground

water sources, such as hydrothermal vents and the water table. It is commonly

found as globoid (botryoidal) masses, fibrous crystals or stalagmites, and very

rarely as single prisms. Malachite and azurite often aggregate together.

Malachite is mined worldwide with large deposits found in Ural, Russia.

Metaphysical Properties: Stone of Purity

Malachite is a healing stone, which draws out and purges dis-ease. It is a frank

healer of emotional problems, exposing and dissolving impurities. Malachite

can be combined with the trinity heart stones, i.e., Rose Quartz, Pink

Tourmaline (Rubellite) and Kunzite, to soften Malachite‟s emotional healing

process. Malachite is aligned with the heart chakra; the seat of social

understanding and responsibility. Thus, Malachite requires you to

take responsibility for your physical wellbeing and emotional

healing. It will assist in this process, but actively seeks your

involvement in restoring yourself. It reminds us that we should

not solely rely on others to save us, since we already have the

inner strength to ensure our own salvation.

History:

The green sea turtle received its namesake from the colour of its strange greenish fat

found beneath its carapace. These sea-borne reptiles have been traversing the oceans for

the last 110 million years, visiting coastal waters from Europe to Alaska. Thus they are

powerful swimmers who can live up to 100 years. This ancient animal is said to be one

of the key creators of the universe and selflessly carry the world on their backs as they

migrate the great spiritual oceans of the cosmos.

Metaphysical Guidance: Harmony, Longevity & Infinity

"Turtles all the way down.” a saying of unknown origin where the author depicts the

turtle as the cornerstone of the infinite universe. The turtle evokes an air of elderly

wisdom, grace and peace. He communicates the message that a life lived at a steady and

conscientious pace is one of purpose and fulfilment. Time is an illusion, a

human construct. Haste simply leaves us equally unsatisfied and deluded

to the truths of living a good life. Do not rush through life‟s experiences.

Set aside some time and invest your energy in the projects and people

who you care about the most. This is where you will gain the most

rewards from life and in-turn empower yourself and those around you.

Uses:

Thyme is a upright, low growing herb regularly used as incense by the ancient

Egyptians and Greeks. It was highly prized for its healing properties, due to its

antimicrobial thymol content, and was used both internally and externally to treat a

myriad of ailments. Sprigs instilled courage and often given to knights who set out for

battle. Growing thyme in the garden is said to protect you and your family from both

earthly and otherworldly creatures, such as poisonous snakes and mischievous fairies.

Metaphysical Properties: Valour, Protection & Prowess

“The smoke of thyme drives away all serpents and all other beasts that cast venom out

through their mouths”, an recommendation for the use of thyme from De viribus

herbarum carmen by Aemilius Macer (11th century), which clearly associates thyme

with protection. Thyme reminds us to take on new adventures in our stride and not to

fear the unknown. As we set out on the paths never taken we must trust

our own courage and mental fortitude to see us through both the internal

and external challenges that lie ahead. We simply cannot grow and

expand if we do not seize the opportunities when they arise. If no

opportunity arrives, then simply create them yourself!
