There will be signage at the Kenny Park gates to re-direct people to the new location. There will be ample parking within the park/football oval areas. Plenty of water will be provided, especially for the children in the choirs. The event begins at 6.30pm with BBQ food & drinks available & Mildura District Brass Band. YEAR 7 HALLS GAP CAMP REPORT – Rob Morgan, Camp Coordinator Last week, eighty enthusiastic students jumped onto two buses and headed south to Halls Gap for the start of their Adventure Camp with Mr Morgan, Mr Luitjes, Mark Luitjes, Mrs McPhee, Melissa Perry, Mrs Drendel-Arthur and Mrs Rayson. The Adventure Camp is about getting students out of their comfort zone and encouraging them to be prepared to attempt and learn new things with support and encouragement from their peers, in the hope that new friendships will be developed. The camp began with the students being allocated to their rooms and learning about the campsite. Camp supervisors then took the students through some innovative games that required them to use team work, persistence and creative thinking. Over the following two days they participated in five challenging activities: High Ropes Course, Abseiling, Rocking Climbing, Mountain Bike Riding and walking the Pinnacle Track. Many of the students would have felt out of their comfort zone for all or most the activities, particularly those activities where they were required to be ten or more metres off the ground. The students enjoyed and survived these activities, receiving no more than a few bumps and scratches. They should be very proud and satisfied with the way they behaved and the manner they conducted themselves whilst on camp. They were fantastic ambassadors for the school and it was a pleasure to work and have fun with them over the four days.

LOST PROPERTY Please ensure your child’s clothing is clearly named. If your child is missing articles, please have them check the lost property box located in the main entrance to the school.

DOCTORS IN SECONDARY SCHOOLS Remember our doctor’s room is open every Tuesday from 10am–3pm for secondary students. Student appointments can be made through staff at the school or by calling the Merbein Family Practice on 03 5025 2511 or students can simply drop into the rooms at recess or lunch on Tuesdays. This is a great service, not just when students are sick but for things like prescriptions, asthma and anaphylaxis plans, catch-up immunisations, mental health and any other issues

facing secondary students. Students will need to

give their Medicare Card details to the GP

clinic. An easy way to do this is for the

student to take a photo of the card on their

phone. Parents do not need to attend appointments with students but are very welcome to come along if the students wish.

2019 YEAR 10 RUGBY JUMPERS Orders are now open for the 2019 Year 10 Rugby Jumper. Our Rugby Jumpers are made in Adelaide by Silver Fleece, an Australian owned company.

Families need to order and pay for the

The design of the 2019 Year 10 Rugby Jumper will be the same as this year’s with students having the option to personalise their top with a name or nickname. These will then be sent to the school for approval before printing. Payment is via Credit Card or PayPal only and you must choose the “Local Pickup” shipping option during checkout – otherwise you will be charged a delivery fee.

Cost is $84.50 each. Orders close 22nd

December 2018. Students will be fitted for their Rugby Jumpers at school. Available sizes showing online are from 10 – 28 but larger sizes can be ordered if needed. Once you get to checkout, you can write the size required in the Order Notes (optional) box.

END OF YEAR ARRANGEMENTS – G. Rhodes The following arrangements are in place for the

completion of the school year. Year 10 students will be involved in their Orientation Week at the Senior College from Tuesday 11th to Friday 14th December. They will then be cleared for part time work obligations. Year 7-9 students will have regular classes up until and including Tuesday 18th December. The students will participate in the following Activity Program in the last three days of school. On Wednesday 19th December, students will participate in activities based around team work, and will have the opportunity to visit an out of school recreational venue. On Thursday 20th December, we will hold our Annual ‘Lake Day’ Excursion, where students can participate in outdoor activities with the theme of ‘fun in the outdoors in a safe and Sun Smart environment’.
