ACADEMIC STREAMS {Science, Commerce and Humanities}

The learning areas will include :-

1 & II Two Languages (Core/Elective) out of Hindi, English, Punjabi, Sanskrit, French.

Note:

1. Out of the two languages, one shall be English or Hindi.

2. The Languages may be offered at Core or Elective level. The same language, however, cannot be offered both at the Core level and Elective level.

3. A candidate has the choice to opt for any other elective subject provided under the scheme of studies in lieu of one language.

candidate shall generate his/her account by filling in the basic details. After filling in the basic details by the candidate, a unique ID and Password shall be generated, which the candidate shall have to keep safe for any future reference.

5. Candidate shall be further directed to Bank’s site for payment of Registration Fee. After paying the Registration Fee, the candidate shall note down the Transaction ID before logging in again at the Education Department’s website for filling in the Registration Form. After submission of the Registration Form online, the candidate is required to take two prints of the submitted form. One Print shall have to be submitted along with the copies of the relevant documents (mentioned in Point No. 7) in one of the following six designated schools on the date(s) mentioned in the Admission

Eligibility and Procedure for Admission...

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION:A candidate shall be eligible to get admission in Class XI:·1. If he/she has passed Matriculation

Examination from Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi or any other Recognized Board or its equivalent Examination recognized by C.B.S.E.

2. Students, who have been declared Pass by CBSE as per their pass criteria, shall be eligible for admission. Similarly, the candidate from other Boards will be eligible if he/she has been declared 'PASS' by the respective Board.

3. I f he / she has no t passed h igher Examination or equivalent from any other recognized Board/University.

4. Students placed in compartment in Class X examination shall be given provisional admission on payment of Admission Fee and Annual Funds (in full) and monthly funds for five (Apr - Aug) months. The fee once paid shall be non-refundable.

PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION:1. Registration Form is to be filled online on

the website of Education Department i.e. www.chdeducation.gov.in. Registration F o r m c a n a l s o b e f i l l e d u p a t nielit.gov.in/chandigarh. Registration form shall be accepted online with a Registration Fee amounting to Rs. 130/- only payable through Net Banking/ Credit Card/ Debit Card.

2. There is only one Registration Form for all the streams (Science, Commerce, Humanities or Vocational). Only one Registration Form is to be filled up by the candidate seeking admission to Class XI in any Govt. school. A candidate can fill up the at the most twenty option of (20) Govt. Schools and streams of his/her choice in the Registration Form in order of preference.

3. In case of any problem in filling in the form, the candidate can take the help of

Schedule: a. GMSSS-20-D, Chandigarh b. GMSSS-37-D, Chandigarh c. GMSSS-38(W), Chandigarh d. GMSSS-46, Chandigarh e. GSSS-Mauli Jagran (V) f. GMSSS-MHC, Chandigarh6. Candidate can edit the submitted

Registration Form till last date of the filling of Registration form. After closing date, no change shall be allowed till the completion of the ongoing round of counselling.

7. The following documents are to be attached along with the print out of the Registration Form while submitting in the above mentioned schools:

(i) Marks Sheet/Report Card of X class

c(ii) Category ertificate for admission against reserved seats

(iii) Gradation certificate (For sports category)

8. The second print out of the submitted Registration Form is to be retained by the candidate for its submission at the time of Admission in the school, where the candidate shall be allotted a seat.

9. Any claim of the candidate pertaining to the marks/caste/category shall not be entertained in the absence of relevant documents.

10. Particulars / details filled online by the candidate as on the closing date / time shall be considered final and preparation of merit and allotment of seat shall be finalized on the basis of these details.

Preparation of Merit:1. Common merit will be prepared on the

basis of marks obtained in class X in the following 5 subjects:

English, Mathematics, Social Sciences, General Science and Language II.

In case the candidate had opted for more than one language (in addition to

English) in class X examination, the language in which the candidate has secured higher will be considered marks (in lieu of language-II). In case Language-II is not offered by School Board, obtained by the candidate marks in any other subject will be considered. In case of Open School Examination, marks in any 5 subjects on the basis of which the candidate has been declared successful will be .considered

2. Merit will be prepared on the basis of total in Five Subjectsmarks i.e. English, Maths, Social Science, Science and Language-II.

3 a. ( ) If two or more candidates are having same total as mentioned at Point No. 2, then a candidate getting higher as marks mentioned under "1st Tie" will rank higher in order of merit.

(b) If two or more candidates having same as mentioned under "1st Tie" marks then the candidates having higher marks as mentioned under "Subsequent Tie" will rank higher in order of merit.

(c) If two or more candidates are having same marks , under 1s t Tie and subsequent Tie, the candidate having higher age shall rank higher in order of merit.

4. The compartmental candidates shall be placed in the merit list below the candidates, who have been declared ‘PASS’ by CBSE even if the marks obtained by passed candidate are lesser than the marks obta ined by the compartmental candidate.

5. C a n d i d a t e s d e c l a r e d p a s s e d i n compartment exam shall be considered for change in school/stream during 3rd counselling subject to availability of seat.

6. Compartmental candidate shall not claim the seat on which he/she has been admitted, in case of non-clearance of compartmental examination.

Note: In case a candidate fails to deposit the fee by the scheduled date, the candidate shall be barred and his form shall not be considered further for admission.

4. Common Merit 1ist of the candidates (Before "Tie break) prepared as per criteria and other particulars will be uploaded at www.chdeducation.gov.in. Candidate may check his/her status in the merit, other particulars such as category, gender, preference of school and stream. In case, there is any discrepancy/ objection, the candidate shall submit his objection in writing in one of the following two designated schools with in the time frame mentioned in the admission schedule:

1. GGMSSS-18, Chandigarh

2. GMSSS-35, Chandigarh

ALLOTMENT OF SCHOOL/STREAM

1. Seats will be allotted on the basis of

(a) Position in Common Merit list after deciding "Tie"points.

(b) Order of preference of school and stream given by the candidate

(c) Availability of seats in a particular school.

2. A Candidate will be admitted in one school and in one stream only.

3. List indicating the allotment of school and stream will be uploaded on the website. Names of all those candidates who have been allotted seats in various schools shall be included in this list.

Deposit of Fee in Respective Schools

1. Candidate will report in the school, where he/she has been allotted seat to deposit the fee along with copy of the already filled-in Regis t ra t ion Form a long wi th the Admission Form duly signed by the Candidate as well as his/ her parents, along with the following documentary evidence:

(i) Marks sheet /Repor t Card of X class

c (ii) Charac te r e r t i f i ca te f rom the head of the institute last attended.

c(iii) Category ertificate for admission against reserved seats

(iv) Gradation certificate (For sports category)

(v) Three copies of Passport size latest photograph

Preparation of Merit...

2. At the time of deposit of fee, all documents and details submitted at the time of filling up of online Registration form will be re-checked by the respective schools. In case there is any discrepancy, fee will not be accepted by the respective school and his/her admission shall stand cancelled. In such situation, the candidate shall submit an application in one of the Grievance Redressal Cell at GMSSS-35 or GGMSSS-18 for rectification.

3. In case a candidate wants to change his/her school/stream during second/third round of counselling, he/she shall have to edit the preference of school/stream in his/her Registration Form submitted earlier and submit the form again online within the Admission Schedule available at Page 11.

General Instructions1. Admission can be refused to any candidate

on valid reasons.2. Students from Boards other than Central

Board of Secondary Education will be admitted provisionally. Admission will be confirmed only on production of original migration certificate.

3. (a) All Foreign/Overseas students are required to produce student visa/Residential Permit. Applicants with other types of Visas will not be considered for admission.

(b) Eligibility Certificate from the CBSE must be furnished by all foreign students without which application for admission of Foreign Students will not be considered. Director School Education, Chd Admn is also authorised to issue Eligibility Certificate.

4. No Candidate shall be allowed to change his/her subjects of study after Third Counselling.

5. Physical Education as an elective or addl. subject or in lieu of lang-II will be offered only if a student fulfils the conditions laid in Senior School Curriculum 9 of 2018-1CBSE, New Delhi.

RESERVATION OF SEATS :

(a) Reservation for subject/courses under Academic and Vocational Streams shall be as under:-

(i) Scheduled Caste = 15%

(ii) Sports Category = 2%

(iii) Physically challenged = 3%

(iv) Children of Defence = 5%

(vi) Kashmiri Migrants = 1 addl Seat/

per section

(vii) 10 addl seats each in vocational stream for Muslim girls in GSSS-45 and GSSS-Manimajra Town.

(viii) One additional Seat per section shall be filled by Chd Admn as per the guidelines issued by Secretary Education, Chd Administration.

(ix) In addition to reservation for sports quota, 10 seats for Cricket Academy Boys in GMSSS-35-B and 9 seats for H o c k e y A c a d e m y G i r l s i n GGMSSS-18, Chandigarh are reserved irrespective of the marks obtained by these players.

(b) Seats remained vacant under any reserved category will be allotted to the candidates of general category at the time of allotment of seats during 3rd counselling.

(I) To ensure that each student may enjoy the full benefits of the facilities placed at his/her disposal, he/she has to abide by the conduct rules and regulat ions of the inst i tut ion. These are solely designed to safeguard the welfare of students and are liable to change without notice. The students are adv i sed to keep themse lves informed about the day-to-day instructions given in the schools. A plea of ignorance of any rule cannot be accepted as an excuse for breaking it.

(ii) Students are expected to be in decorum and to pay due respect to the faculty and subordinate officials. Every member of staff has authority to forbid disorderly behavior within the institution.

(iii) L o u d t a l k i n g , l o i t e r i n g o r congregating in the corridor, being s o u r c e o f d i s t u r b a n c e a n d annoyance to others is not permitted.

(iv) Late arrival and early departure at or from a school are recorded as absence from the school.

(viii) The students at the institute require attention and diligence. A student neglecting his studies and showing unsatisfactory progress will be

(ix) Students shall observe all safety precautions. The institution is not r e spons ib l e fo r a cc iden t o f whatsoever nature in the school/ workshop/playground/work place. The Ins t i tu t ion shal l not be responsible for any untoward incident while commuting between home to school, school to home and to any training place.

(x) Students are not allowed to use mobile phone in the school campus. Action will be taken by the school authorities against the defaulters.

(xi) Conduct inconsistent with general school rules or persistent neglect of work or failure to respond promptly to official notice may be punished with levy of f ines and even expulsion from the school in the interest of general discipline by the Principal.

(xii) Instructions/Guidelines relating to a specific vocational course given in the course of studies issued by CBSE or any other subsequent institutions/guidelines/rules and regulations circulated by the authorities concerned are to be strictly followed.

General Conduct Rules...

(xv) Rules for Change of Subject(s): (a) No candidates shall be permitted to

change his/her subject of study after passing Class XI.

(b) The candidate shall not offer a subject in Class XII which he has not studied and passed in Class XI.

(c) Head of the Institution may allow change in subject in Class XI but not later than 31st October of that academic session.

(d) The change of subject(s) stream has been allowed by CBSE to the failures of Class XII. However this change shall be permissible only from Science to Commerce and Humanities streams and not vice versa.

(e) Not withstanding the above, the Chairman of CBSE has the power to allow a candidate to appear in any subject he thinks desirable under exceptional circumstances.

(f) No student shall be eligible to take the examination unless he has completed 75% of attendance counted from the beginning of class XI/XII upto the 1st of the month preceding the month of annual examination.

MOST IMPORTANT Students have to attend the classes

regularly to the extent of minimum 75% and no relaxation in time and attendance shall be permitted.

Nature of Examination1. In order to orient the student towards

competitive exams, MCQ tests are held regularly at the school level. Class XI examination shall be conducted internally by the schools themselves while Class XII examination based on

the syllabus for class XII only shall be conducted by the CBSE according to the following schemes:

(a) The Board shall conduct examination in all subjects except General Studies/ Personality Development and Soft Skills, Work Experience, Physical and Health Education, w h i c h w i l l b e assessed internally by the schools.

(b) In the subject examined by the Board a student will be given one paper each carrying 100 marks for 3 hours. However, in subject requir ing practical examination there will be a t h e o r y p a p e r a n d a p r a c t i c a l examination as required in the course of studies.

( c ) In Work Experience, General Studies/ Personality Development and Soft Skills and P h y s i c a l a n d H e a l t h Education, schools are required to maintain cumulative record of continuous evaluation of students achievement and progress. The record is subject to scrutiny by the Board as and when it deems necessary.

(d) A candidate from a recognized school, hav ing phys ica l de formi ty o r otherwise unable to take p a r t i n Work Experience and Physical and Health Education, may be granted exemption by the Chairman of the Board on the recommendation of the Head of the Institution supported by medical certificate from the Medical Officer of a rank not below an Assistant Surgeon.

(e) A candidate may offer an additional subject which can be either a language at elective level or another elective subject as prescribed in the scheme of studies, subject to the conditions laid down in the Pass Criteria.

1. The terminal examination will be held in the months of September and December besides Unit tests.

2. Annual Examination will be held in the month of March. In case of board exam, it shall depend upon CBSE directions.

3. A student taking vocational course will also undergo on the job training. Instructions of the department are to be adhered to in this regard.

4. All types of State and Centre Scholarships are t e n a b l e i n a l l Senior Secondary Schools. There is no tuition fee for male students belonging to Scheduled Castes/ Tribes. However, S c h o l a r s h i p s / Stipends of all the categories are liable to be withdrawn if a student remains irregular in attendance or is found guilty of misbehaviour or shows unsatisfactory progress in studies.
