Congratulations to the 2017–18 CGA Educational Foundation College Scholarship recipients. is year, 341 scholarships totaling $574,100 were awarded to deserving students attending college this fall.

Beginning with a single scholarship in 1992, the Foundation has grown exponentially over the last 25 years to bestow nearly 4,000 worthy college students with awards totaling in excess of $5.1 million – ensuring that California’s grocery employees and their dependents have the resources necessary to start or complete their higher education.

CGA Educational Foundation college scholarships are open to high school seniors, college undergraduates and graduate students who are dependents of employees or are themselves employed by a California Grocers Association member company.

Additionally, CGAEF and California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly San Luis Obispo) Agribusiness Department embarked on a partnership designed to help shape future generations of grocery industry professionals in a wide range of disciplines through support of Cal Poly’s Food Retail Management (CPFRM) Program.

As part of its commitment to recruit the next generation of grocery industry executives, the Foundation awarded $5,000 scholarships to students that have completed a set of core classes in the CPFRM Program. CGAEF is pleased to introduce this year’s students who benet from the partnership.

For more information on these Foundation programs, please contact CGAEF at [email protected] or (916) 448–3545.
