The City of Brandon Water Filter Rebate Program gives eligible Brandon residents a rebate for purchasing an NSF/ANSI-53
certified water filter and/or filter cartridges. Homes built before the mid-1950s may have a lead water service connection. Using a filter is an affordable and effective temporary solution to reduce the amount of lead in tap water to a safe level. The City of Brandon recommends the use of an NSF/ANSI-53 certified filter in homes where:
The water service (the pipe that connects your home to the City water supply system) is made of lead; OR
There are test results confirming lead at levels higher than current national drinking water guidelines of 0.010 milligrams per litre (mg/L).
This application is for: o those living in a single-family, duplex, triplex home or
four-plex homes OR o small businesses
For larger apartment complexes, businesses, or institutions, a water filter rebate program will be released later this fall.
This rebate can be applied once per property, or once per suite if a duplex, triplex, or four-plex
If you are a tenant, please contact the owner/landlord to coordinate who will be applying for the rebate. If the tenant is applying for the rebate, the owner/landlord must also sign the application
The City of Brandon will provide a one-time rebate of up to $100 to assist eligible property owners/occupants in the purchase of an NSF/ANSI-53 certified water filter, or replacement filter cartridges. Rebate application must be received by the City of Brandon before December 15, 2017. Rebates will be processed following:
confirmation there is a lead service connection, OR
