FIRST is a non-profit organization aimed

at inspiring the youth of today by pairing

them with current professional mentors

in the fields of engineering, business,

manufacturing and computer science.

The efforts of FIRST engage students

and excite them to join the fields of

science, technology, engineering and

mathematics (STEM). Our students in

FIRST robotics are part of the future

in manufacturing and engineering.

FLL, Jr. teams in every

Lakeview Elementary

Over 3500 teams around the world and more

than 450 in Michigan receive a new challenge

every January. Teams of students and mentors

then have six weeks to design and construct a

robot to compete at two district events. Each

event consists of 40 teams with advancement

opportunities to the State and World levels.

Funding obtained through sponsors helps to

support the team by paying for registration

fees and the various parts used to develop the

competition robots.

Funds provided by sponsors are an investment in a

well prepared and excited workforce. The students

involved in today’s team become tomorrow’s top

engineers, machinists and inspirational leaders. Our

graduated students moved on to universities such as

the University of Michigan, Michigan State University,

Michigan Technological University and the

Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
