2017 SCYF Parent/Participant Registration Process

As part of the direction to streamline the registration process for football, cheerleading, and poms participants, the SCYF Board of Directors now uses an online registration process for parents of the participants. This document will provide step-by-step instructions for registering for Swartz Creek Youth Football, Cheer, and Poms.

It is recommended to complete this registration event from a PC/Mac that has a printer connected. Opening the menu system or selecting drop down menus may be difficult with touch-screen devices and paper registration forms will need to be opened and printed during the process.

1. If not there already, go out to our web site at www.swartzcreekyouthfootball.org.2. From the main page, hover your mouse over the Registration menu item to bring up the submenu.

Select Online Registration from the sub-menu.

3. On the Welcome to Online Registration screen, click on the Register Now link at the bottom of the

screen:

4. The screen will refresh, displaying the SCYF online registration events. Click on the Register Nowlink next to the appropriate registration event that you want to be registered for:

Please note that if you have want to register one child for tackle football, cheer, or poms and another for flag football, these registrations have to be done separately. A flag football registration cannot be combined with the other registrations due to multi-child discounts available for tackle football, cheer and poms and not available to flag football participants.

5. The system will then prompt you for USA Football login credentials. If you are unsure of thesecredentials, click on the “I have forgotten my password” link at the bottom to have your passwordreset (if no account is established with your email address, it will let you know). If you are brandnew to our site and USA Football, click on the “Create A New Account” link.

6. Clicking on the “Create A New Account” link will give you the opportunity to enter in your accountinformation. If you already registered into the system with the email address that you provide, itwill prompt you that you are already registered (of which follow the “I have forgotten my password”link on the previous screen):

7. Once you are logged in (with either an existing or new account), the system will walk you through astep-by-step process for registering your child. Step 1 is to fill in the Parent Information and selectContinue to Register Players button at the bottom.

If you are a returning participant (child participated in football, cheer, or poms last year), some of the fields will already be filled in and highlighted in green. Please review all auto-populated information and fill in any additional “required” fields.

A few notes on this form:

SCYF is asking that you select your mobile phone provider (circled area above). This willallow the Board to use the system’s mass texting capabilities to inform everyone of lastminute notices like practice cancelations or game postponements.

Though not required, the SCYF asks that the Parent/Guardian 2 fields are supplied with thechild’s 2nd parent (if present) or another legal guardian so as to avoid situations wherecommunications are not being sent to both parties.

Click on the Continue to Register Players button at the bottom of the form.

8. If your child is returning, their name should be listed. Click the bullet point next to their name andselect the Add Registration for Select Player button. If your child is new to SCYF, click the bulletpoint next to “Someone Else…” and click the Add Registration button:

9. On the Register Players – Choose Category section, click the bullet point next to the sport or divisionof SCYF that your youth wants to participate with. Click on the Continue to Player Informationbutton:

10. The Register Players – Player Information screen will now appear. If your child is returning to SCYF,most of their information will be auto-filled and highlighted in green. Please review all auto-populated information and fill in any additional “required” fields. Once completed, click on theContinue to Register Players button:

A few notes on this page:

Take note of any blue fields that pop-up with additional instructions when you hover yourmouse over those fields.

Be sure to list any siblings participating in SCYF along with where they are participating. Thiswill assist the Board with child-team placement, but also for applying appropriate multi-child discounts. Do not list any siblings not participating with SCYF.

Experience field – do not count this upcoming season as a year of experience (new player =0, child starting their 4th year = 3, etc.). This will assist the SCYF and MMRFL league.

The bottom section of the page consists of links to various forms needed by SCYF and the MYFL. Be sure to click on the CLICK HERE links and print the forms that open. These forms need to be filled in, signed, and brought to one of the live registration events to be filed with league records. Be sure to read the directions carefully for these sections.

11. The process will then take you back to the Register Players – Choose Player screen where you can

add additional participants.

If you have another participant, click the bullet point next to “Someone else…” and click on the Add Registration for Selected Player button. This will send you through the same process starting on step 9 above. If you do not have any additional participants for this event, click on the Continue Registration button:

12. The Registration Payment Summary will now be displayed. Review the information and click on theContinue to Payment Method button:

13. Click on the Confirm Registration button when you have reviewed the information:

14. After a few moments, the system will reply back with a message stating that everything is complete.You may print this information for your records if desired by clicking on the “print a copy” link justabove the table.

You will receive a confirmation email from SCYF stating that you need to attend one of the live registration events for uniform fittings and weigh-ins (football only). Payments of cash, check, or credit card will be made at these events.

At this point, you can either exit out of the site or click on the Return to Your Member Account link circled above. This will return you to a screen like below where you can see your account balance, view current registrations, add family members, change your password, change your address or contact information, and register for additional events.
