Meeting of Town Official Language Implementation Committee
Under the auspices of DLW Rajbhasha Deparment, half yearly meeting of Town Official
Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC) was held on 21st December at Technical Training
Centre Auditorium. It was presided over by Smt. Rashmi Goel, General Manager & President,
TOLIC, Varanasi. Heads/representatives of various central govt. departments and undertaking
corporations attended this meeting. Discussing the guidelines of Parliamentary Official Language
Committee, Smt. Goel said that the Parliamentary Official Language Committee inspects the offices
from time to time and takes
the issue of prescribed
questionnaires and absence of
meetings seriously. She
hoped that we would all be
successful in implementing all
the official instructions of the
Government of India.
In this meeting, Shri Ajay Malik, Deputy Director/Implementation, Rajbhasha Vibhag,
Ministry of Home Affairs was also present as Observer. Expressing happiness over the progress
report of TOLIC member offices, he suggested them to ensure cent-percent use of Hindi in official
works.
Earlier, Shri J.N.Pandey, Mukhya Rajbhasha Adhikari & Vice-President, TOLIC welcomed the
Heads and Representatives of member offices and threw light upon the activities of TOLIC and
DLW in the field of implementation of Rajbhasha. On this occasion, ADRM/NER Shri V.K.Srivastava,
Representative of Kindriya Sachivalaya, Hindi Parishad Shri J.N.Roy as well as other
Heads/Representatives of various central govt. departments and undertaking corporations
expressed their views and put valuable suggestions for the progressive use of Rajbhasha. Shri Shri
Bhagavan Pandey, Rajbhasha Adhikari and Member Secy./TOLIC conducted the whole programme
efficiently, while Shri Vinod Kumar Srivastava, Sr. Transletor proposed the vote of thanks at last.
Bal Niketan School organised its Annual Day "Phulwari"
Bal Niketan a primary school run by DLW Women’s Welfare Organiasation celebrated its
Annual Sports Day at DLW Auditorium (Cinema Hall) on 16th December with presentation of
colourful cultural programmes by student. On this occasion, welcoming the guest Smt. Rashmi
Goel, Incharge, Bal Niketan said that besides teaching,
it is the basic responsibility of the teacher and parents
both to build up the character of students and inculcate
the moral values in them. Therafter, Smt. Mayuri
Sinha, Incharge, Bal Niketan presented the Annual
Report of the School.
The programme started with lighting the lamp by the members of DLW Women's Welfare
Organisation as well as presentation of Welcome Dance by the children of Bal Niketan School.
followed by "Healthy Food V/s Junk Food", short play
"Save Water", attractive dance, Yoga demonstration,
"The Incredible India", Western Dance "Mickey
Mouse", Dramatical Dance "Jhansi Ki Rani" and Garba
Dance etc. presented by the childrens of Bal Niketan,
which was highly admired by the audience.
On this occasion, office-bearers & members of DLW Women’s Welfare Organisation,
employees, Principal, Smt. Pushpa Singh, teachers, parents and children of Bal Niketan School
were present in a large numbers. Smt. Sumona Nag, Teachers, Bal Niketan conducted the whole
programme efficiently.
Colourful cultural programme 'Rangotsav' at DLW
Under the auspices of Sansthan, Diesel Locomotive Works, a colourful cultural programme
'Rangotsav' was organized on 09th December at Rangshala. The programme started with Ganesh
Vandana presented by the artists of Crazy About Dance
Academy.
Thereafter Ajay Ajnabi and Anchal Agarwal spellbound
the audience by presenting the Bhojpuri and Filmi songs.
Then the artists of Crazy About Dance Academy presented
the eye-catching group dance 'Aasman Ko Choo Ke Dekha…'.
Again Ajay Ajnabi and Anchal Agarwal presented attractive songs. In this connection a group dance
'Navrai Majhi…' under the direction of Raju Bind was presented by the artists. To mark the occasion
Ajay Ajnabi and Anchal Agarwal again spellbound the audience by presenting the songs. The
attraction of the programme was increased when the artists of Crazy About Dance Academy again
presented the group dance (Ghoomar).
And finally, the main attraction of the programme of
comedy play 'Bikey Huye Aadmi' was presented by the
artists of Vishwarupam Kala Manch. The play was written by
Late Dinesh Bharti and directed by Shri Ravi Kant Mishra.
Earlier, the programme started with lighting of lamp by chief guest Shri
Suneet Sharma, PCME, Shri Yogesh Mohan, CME/P & President/Sansthan, Shri
M.K.Agarwal, CMM/Engine, Shri Jitendra Awarwal, Sr. Security Commissioner, Dr.
Devesh Kumar, ACMS/OPD and Shri Rajkumar Gupta, Vice-President/Sansthan
jointly. On this occasion, officers, employees and viewers were present in a large
number. Shri Alok Singh, Secy./Sansthan welcomed the guests, Shushri Deepa
Mishra, conducted the programme and Shushri Tapti Roy Choudhury (Secy. of
Cultural, Acadamy and Sports) proposed the vote of thanks.
Security/Safety week organised by Civil Defence Organisation at DLW
Under the joint auspicious of Diesel Locomotive Works and South Western Railway
(Hubballi) Civil Defence Organisation, Security/Safety week were organised from 01st to 06th
December. the programme wound-up with observed Civil Defence Day at DLW Stadium on 06th
December. On this occasion, the programme began with the
impressive parade, march-past and salute by the Civil
Defence members as well as unfurling of Civil Defence flag
and inspection of parade by chief guest Smt. Rashmi Goel,
General Manager. Congratulating the members on Civil
Defence Day, Smt. Goel said that to minimise the effects of
internal destruction and to keep the moral of the people
high during the Second World War, an organization was
formed under the Ministry of Defence named “Air Raid
Precautions”. Keepings its importance in view,
subsequently, it was renamed as “Civil Defence”
Organisation and was put under the Home Ministry. This organisation has the status of the
country's fourth army. Lauding the presentation of rescue and relief, as well as first aid exercises
by the Civil Defence members during the emergency situations Smt. Goel appreciated the
members for the launching of cleanliness drive in DLW premises and expressed hope that the
organization will continue these exercises time to time to remain fit and alert for facing any
emergency situation.
On this occasion, the Civil Defence members of DLW & SWR put up a live and effective
presentation of various relief & rescue as well as first aid exercises for the citizens and injured
persons during the bombardment in war time as - defusing
of bombs, fire fighting, to bring down the injured persons
from considerable heights by only stretcher and rope
without sufficient equipments, providing first aid to the
injured persons, and to transfer the injured persons from
the accident site to safe place as well as stretcher drill,
fireman lift, human crutch and many other rescue methods
were successfully demonstrated. During the presentation
Shri Asht Bhuja Misra, Sr. Civil Defence Inspector conducted
the programme. The programme concluded with the camp
fire.
On this occasion, S/Shri Suneet Sharma, Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer, J.N.Pandey,
Principal Fianancial Advisor, Manoj Kumar, Principal Chief Personnel Officer, Sudhir Ranjan,
Principal Chief Electric Engineer, Ashok Kumar, Principal

Manager & Controller/Civil Defence, other officers, office
bearers and members of the organisation, employees and
viewers were present in a large number. Shri B.L.Nag, Dy.
Controller, DLW Civil Defence Organisation presented the
Annual Report of the organisation and Shri Narendra Kumar
Mishra conducted the whole programme efficiently and
proposed the vote of thanks also.
Oath Taking, Cleanliness Drive, Briksh Mitra, Torch Rally etc. are also organized during the
weeklong programme.

Indian Railways Accounts Services (IRAS) Day at DLW
Under the joint auspices of Diesel Locomotive
Works Accounts Department and Indian Railways
Accounts Services (IRAS), Varanasi Chapter, Indian
Railways Accounts Services (IRAS) Day was organized at
Officers’ Guest House on 30th November, 2017. On this
occasion, a discussion was held on "Contemporary
Challenges,Indian Rly. Financial Perspective".
On this occasion, congratulating to accounts officers on IRAS Day chief guest Smt. Rashmi
Goel, General Manager shared her views and experiences. She said that IRAS officers are an
important part of Indian Railways as the back bone of Indian Railways, which is one of the biggest
Railway organizations in the world. Their number is approximately 500 around the country. In
present economic scenario, no organization can progress
without a smooth and effective financial management and
IRAS officers are running the financial management of
Railways successfully. He also threw lights upon the role
and duties of IRAS officers and expressed his views on
impact on railway finance after merger of Rail Budget with
Annual Budget. Shri J.N.Pandey, PFA presided over the
programme
On this occasion, all the working IRAS officers including some retired officers of DLW
expressed their views and shared the experiences. Shri P.Hariprasad, FA&CAO/TOT conducted the
whole programme as well as welcomed the guests and proposed the vote of thanks at end.
Communal Harmony/National Integration Week at DLW
Communal Harmony/National Integration Week was observed at Diesel Locomotive Works
from 19th to 25th November. In this connection, on 25th November, Shri Sudhir Ranjan, Principal
Chief Electrical Engineer administered the Communal Harmony/National Integration pledge to the
officers and employees. On this occasion S/Shri
Manoj Kumar, PCPO, Y.B.Shahare, CMgM, Yogesh
Mohan, CME/P, R.R.Prasad, CQAM, S.K.Katiyar,
CME/M, as well as other officers and employees took
the pledge in a large number.
In this weeklong programme, Sarva Dharma Prarthna Sabha by Bharat Scouts & Guides at
Community Hall, cultural programme, symposium and tree plantation at DLW Inter College,
seminar by DLW Women's Welfare Organisation, peace march by DLW based schools and fund
raising programme by Bharat Scouts & Guides etc. were organised.
Vigilance Awareness Week at DLW
Vigilance Awareness Week was observed at Diesel Locomotive Works from 30th October to
04th November, 2017. During the week long programme pledge ceremony, group discussion and a
seminar on Vigilance Awareness were organised at DLW. Besides essay competition and other
programmes were also organised to mobilise the people against the corruption.
The main function of the week, a seminar on "Discussion on Elimination of Corruption"
was organised on 04th November at Technical Training Center Auditorium. Presiding over the
seminar, Smt. Rashmi Goel, General
Manager said that transparency is the key of
elimination of corruption. The corruption
eradication is possible in the society, if we
change the trend of the society. Suggesting
to adopt four basic principles of vigilance i.e.
transparency, impartiality, competition and
accountability Smt. Goel said that if we follow these principles, we will not face any problem.
On this occasion, guest of honour Shri Prithivish Nag, Vice-Chansellor, Mahatma Gandhi
Kashi Vidyapith said that everyone wants to live with dignity, But excessive desires raise their
problems. To improve the Judicature, we can overcome the corruption through public participation.
In the seminar S/Shri V.K.Srivastava, Principal Chief Material Manager, J.N.Pandey,
Principal Financial Advisor, Manoj Kumar, Principal Chief Personnel Officer, A.K.Singh, Ex. Chief
Mechanical Engineer and R.R.Jha, Ex. Chief Vigilance
Officer also expressed his views and put valuable
suggestions about eradication of corruption. Earlier,
chief guest Smt. Goel, guest of honour Shri Nag and
other speakers also released "Vigilance Bulletin"
published by Vigilance Department. Shri Suneel
Kumar, Dy.CVO proposed the vote of thanks at the
end of the programme.
The programme also included staging of a short play "Namak Ka Daroga" based on story of
Munshi Premchand under the direction of Shri Amlesh Srivastava. On this occasion, pleasing over
the drama presentation, General Manager Smt. Goel declared a group award of ` 10000/- for the
artists. On this occasion, HODs, officers, Staff Council members and employees present in a large
number. Shri Amlesh Srivastava conducted the whole programme efficiently.

National Unity Day at DLW
To mark the Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Jayanti, National Unity Day was observed at Diesel
Locomotive Works on 31st October. On this occasion, Shri V.K.Srivastava, Principal Chief Material
Manager administered the National Unity pledge to the officers and employees.
Earlier, the contingents of RPF, St. John's
Ambulance Brigade, Civil Defence, Bharat Scout &
Guides, Inter College Scout & Guides presented an
attractive march past.
In this programme, S/Shri J.N.Pandey, Principal Financial Advisor, Sudhir Ranjan, Principal
Chief Electrical Engineer, Manoj Kumar, Principal Chief Personnel Officer, P.Hariprasad, Financial
Advisor & Chief Accounts Officer/TOT, Maman Singh, Chief Material Manager/Headquarter,
M.K.Agrawal, Chief Material Manager/Engine as well as other officers and employees took the
pledge in a large number.
Earlier, in the morning "Run for Unity Rally" was
also organised from Basketball Court. Shri Manoj
Kumar, Principal Chief Personnel Officer flagged off the
rally. In this rally, officers and employees participated
in a large number. Starting from Basketball court, the rally passed through Administrative Building,
Bhullanpur Railway Station, Nathupur crossing, Inter College crossing, and Surya Sarovar and
ending at Basketball Court.
Surya Shashthi Mahotsav at DLW
Under the auspices of DLW Surya Shashthi Mahotsava Samiti, Shashthi Poojan was
organised on 26th October at Surya Sarovar. On this occasion, chief guest Shri Suneet Sharma,
Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer started the
Shashthi Mahotsava with Poojan & Arti along with
guest of honour Shri Sudhir Ranjan, Principal Chief
Electrical Engineer, Convener of the Samiti Shri
Manoj Kumar, Principal Chief Personnel Officer, Shri
Nitin Mehrotra, Dy. General Manager, other officers,
DLW Women’s Welfare Organisation members, Shri
V.D.Dubey, Joint Secy./Staff Council & members and the office bearers of the Samiti.
At Surya Shasthi, DLW Surya Shashthi
Mahotsava Samiti made excellent arrangement for
Poojan as well as also organised various
programmes like – Sunder Kanda Path, Hanuman
Chalisa, chanting of hymns, Bhajans and Shashthi
songs etc. for the devotees. In Surya Shasthi Mahotsav, a large number of devotee-women and
men offered Arghya and Poojan to the sun at the time of sunset. Shashthi Mahotsava concluded
with the offering of Arghya to the rising sun at next morning on 27th October.
DLW Supplied second consignment of locomotives exporting to Myanmar Railways
In the current financial year, Diesel Locomotive Works has received export order of 18
state-of-the-art meter gauge 1350 HP locomotives from Myanmar Railways. The second
consignment of six locomotives of this export order was supplied to Myanmar Railways on 15th
October during the stipulated time period. These locomotives will reach Kolkata Port through
trailers by road and then the locomotives will shipped to Myanmar. It is mentionable here that
earlier, DLW had exported the first consignment of 06 locomotives to Myanmar Railways on 17th
June, 2017.
These locomotives are equipped with
Microprocessor Control System, TFT Monitor
(Display Unit), Roof Mounted DBR etc. The
remaining 06 locomotives are under manufacturing
and will be exported to Myanmar Railways till
November, 2017.
In addition, DLW has also received export order of 10 state-of-the-art broad gauge 3000 HP
locomotives from Sri Lanka Railways. It is the very first time, when the above locomotives would
be manufactured on High Horse Power Loco Platform in DLW. DLW has planned to export these
locomotives in the year 2018-19.
DLW Stall at International Railway Equipment Exhibition
The 12th International Railway Equipment Exhibition (IREE)-2017 was organised by the
Confederation of Indian Industries in association with Indian Railways from 11 to 13 October at
Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Japan Quality Railways was
the major partner country of the exhibition. The
exhibition was followed by seminar as well as and
buyer-seller meet for interacting with the
representatives of Indian Industries to develop and
supply the rolling stock components and equipments to
meet Railway's requirements.
DLW as well as other production units of Indian Railway participated in this exhibition along
with Zonal Railways and various Railway equipment manufacturing units from public and private
sectors like Daulat Ram, BEML, Bharat Forge and so many foreign companies like M/s Larsen &
Toubro, ABB, Siemens etc. also displayed their
products and activities in this exhibition. DLW also
established a beautiful stall in the above exhibition and
highlighted its products and the facts from
manufacturing to export of Diesel Locomotives to
various countries like Tanzania, Vietnam, Sri Lanka,
Bangladesh, Sudan, Angola etc. Shri Vijay Prakash
Pathak, General Manager inaugurated the DLW Stall on
11th October, in presence of Shri Anil Kumar Singh, Chief Design Engineer. The well planned
decoration attracted visitors to watch the exhibition of DLW's working through Pictures, Translides,
Loco models and Documentary film on DLW with great
treat. The working model of High Horse Power WDP4D
locomotive at DLW stall was the centre of attraction for
the visitors and the displayed loco components which
are to be get developed by the industry were of great
importance for the vendors, supplying railway
equipments. All the interesting aspects of DLW have
been vividly explained at IREE-2017.
During the three day exhibition, Shri Ashwani Lohani, Chairman, Shri Ghanshyam Singh,
Member/Traction as well as large number of visitors visited the DLW stall. Visiting the Stall they
appreciated the decoration theme and sequence of displayed exhibits and put their valuable
remarks in the visitor book.
Special Cleanliness Drive on Gandhi Jayanti – 'National Cleanliness Day'
Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated as the National Cleanliness Day at Diesel Locomotive Works
by all officers, employees and their family members on 02nd October, 2017. On this occasion, Shri
Vijay Prakash Pathak, General Manager along with Shri
Y.B.Shahare, Chief Quality Assurance Manager, Shri
Sanjay Katiyar, Chief Mechanical Engineer/Material, Shri
A.K.Singh, Chief Design Engineer, Shri R.R.Prasad, Chief
Project Manager/Mod. as well as other HODs, officers,
Joint Secy./Staff Council Shri V.D.Dubey & members
and employees took part in Special Cleanliness Drive at Surya Sarovar. Earlier, GM Shri Pathak
administered the oath of awareness towards the cleanliness to the officers and employees.
On the occasion of National Cleanliness Day,
massive cleanliness drive was launched at Surya
Sarovar, DLW Workshop, Township and Officers' Club
by DLW officers & employees. Railway Protection Force
as well as the volunteers of Civil Defence and Bharat
Scouts & Guides also took active part in this drive.
To mark the Gandhi Jayanti celebration, Sarva Dharma Prarthana Sabha and Swachchhata
Jagran Rally were organised at DLW Inter College by DLW Bharat Scouts & Guides.

Durga Pooja and Vijaya Dashami festival at DLW
Vijaya Dashami festival was celebrated in DLW
Township on 30th September at DLW Stadium, which was
attended by huge crowd. The programme started on that
day with the offering of Poojan & Arti to Bhagavan Shri Ram,
Sita & Laxman by Shri Vijay Prakash Pathak, General
Manager accompanied by Smt. Rekha Pathak, President,
DLW Women’s Welfare Organisation, Shri Surendra Narayan
Singh, Hon'ble Member of Legislative Assambly, Shri Manoj
Kumar, Chief Personnel Officer & Executive President of Vijaya Dashami Samiti, Shri Ashok Kumar
Singh, Ex. Chief Mechanical Engineer and office bearers of Vijaya Dashami Samiti.
On this occasion depicting the various characters of
Ramleela, children of DLW family enacted the excerpts from
the epic Ramayan as well as beautiful & attractive fireworks
and burning of effigies of Ravan, Kumbhakaran & Meghnad
were also displayed. The vote of thanks proposed by Shri
Mahesh Pratap Singh, Convenor, Vijaya Dashami Samiti. On
this occasion Senior Superintendent of Police Shri Ram
Krishna Bhardwaj, officers, employees, their families, friends as well as civil authorities of Varanasi
including distinguished persons of the city were present in a large number.
Durga Pooja was also celebrated in Community Hall
and Shiva Kali Mandir at DLW Township with traditional
gaiety and religious fervour. On this occasion, Maa Durga
idols were installed in tastefully decorated Pandals. During
the Navaratri, Maha-Sasthi, Maha-Saptami, Maha-Astami
and Maha-Navami puja and other rituals were performed
with great enthusiasm. The festival concluded with the
immersion of Maa Durga idols in Ganga Sarovar. On this
occasion different colourful cultural programmes were also organised at Community Hall and Shiva
Kali Mandir. During the Vijaya Dashami and Durga Pooja festival DLW R.P.F., Civil Defence, St.
Johan's Ambulance Brigade, Scouts & Guides and other social service organisations also extended
their co-operation in seating arrangement, tracing out and handing over of the missing children to
their parents and control the gathering.
Vishwakarma Puja
As in past, the poojanotsav of the god of the
craft, art and creation Lord Vishwakarma was
celebrated this year too at Diesel Locomotive Works
on 17th September. On this holy occasion, decorating
their shops and workplaces tastefully with flowers and
colourful paper clippings, DLW employees installed
beautiful and attractive portraits of Lord Vishwakarma
there. They offered pooja and aarti to Lord
Vishwakarma with performing proper rituals.
On this occasion, Suneet Sharma, Chief Mechanical Engineer along with S/Shri Yogesh
Mohan, Chief Mechanical Engineer/Production, A.K.Singh, Chief Design Engineer, Naresh Kumar,
Chief Mechanical Engineer/Plant, Nitin Mehrotra, Dy. Genral Manager & Chief Public Relations
Officer, Jitendra Agarwal, Dy. Chief Mecanical Engineer/Planning,
other officers, their family members and friends visited various shops
in the workshop area and other workplaces in the township, where
employees welcomed them with enthusiasm. Offering poojan and aarti
to Lord Vishwakarma, they actively participated in Pujanotsav and
received Prasad.
It is mentionable here that to contribute at a large in the
clean ganga campaign, this year also DLW family installed the
portraits of Lord Viswakarma in place of clay idols at
Vishwakarma Poojanotsav as per previous year.
On this occasion, a large fair was visible at DLW premises and workshop, where DLW
officers, employees, their families & friends enjoyed the fair as well as witnessed and offered
poojan to the beautifully decorated attractive tableau of Lord Vishwakarma in various shops at
workshop and township.
Rajbhasha Pakhwada Samaroh
Under the auspices of Diesel Locomotive Works Rajbhasha Department, Rajbhasha
Pakhwada Samaroh-2017 was organised from 07th to 20th September with variety of programmes.
The Main function of the fortnight long programmes was a seminar on "Vaishvik Sandarbha
Mein Rajbhasha Hindi" held on 16th September
at Technical Training Centre auditorium. On this
occasion, the guest speaker Prof. Shraddhanand,
Director, Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, NTPC
campus, Shakthnagar & Ex. Head, Hindi
Department, Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith,
Varanasi said that official language Hindi is a
powerful weapon for defeating imperialism. We
should not forget that we are Indians and Hindi
language is identification of Indianness. Hindi had
play an important role in freedom struggle as a
language of communication and contact. Referring
to the current state of Hindi, he said that languages
of any country identifies cultural heritage, but we
feel proud to be able to study and teach English, that makes our situation outrageous. This is a
very good thing that we should have knowledge of maximum languages, but we should not be
pride for English by leaving our language.
On this occasion, presiding over the seminar, Shri V.P.Pathak, General Manager said that
the system-network of information technology has made easy to access the every person in every
nook and corner of the world very fast. Despite being an industrial unit, maximum office work and
correspondence is being done in Hindi at DLW. We are committed to ensure the cent-percent
compliance of Rajbhasha Hindi in administrative work. Earlier, Shri Pathak also gave away awards
to 67 officers and employees for winning various Hindi competitions, as well as for doing excellent
and maximum work in Hindi.
Earlier, welcoming the guests and speakers in seminar Shri Jai Narayan Pandey, Mukhya
Rajbhasha Adhikari focussed upon the fortnight long programmes and said that in the era of
globalisation, not only in India but throughout the world our Rajbhasha Hindi has been hoisting its
flag, which assure us that the future of Hindi is safe.
The programme started with the lighting of lamp by GM Shri Pathak along with guest
speaker Prof. Shraddhanand, Chief Mechanical Engineer Shri Suneet Sharma, Chief Personnel
Officer Shri Manoj Kumar and Mukhya Rajbhasha Adhikari Shri Pandey jointly. On this occasion,
S/Shri R.R.Jha, CMgM, S.K.Jain, CMM/Loco, P.Hariprasad, FA&CAO/TOT, Maman Singh, CMM/HQ,
R.R.Prasad, CPM/Mod. as well as other officers and employees were present in a large number.
Shri Shri Bhagawan Pandey, Rajbhasha Adhikari conducted the whole programme efficiently and

Bulk Indent Meeting for High Horse Power Locomotives at DLW
To discuss the requirement of Zonal Railways for imported and indigenous vital spares for
the year 2019-2020, two day Annual Bulk Indent Meeting for High Horse Power (HHP) locomotives
was organised on 15th September at Hall of Fame. Addressing the delegates of Railway Board,
Zonal Railways and RDSO, Shri Ghanshyam Singh
Member/Traction, Railway Board expressing
satisfaction over the smooth supply of the spare parts
of HHP locomotives to Zonal Railways, he emphasised
on to increase the reliability and availability of
locomotives. He expressed concern over the shortage
of sources of supply of equipments for high horse
power locomotives and also focused upon the common
faults and problems occurring in the spare parts of
locomotives. Besides he also stressed the need to
develop the new sources of the spares of HHP
locomotives to ensure their quality and uninterrupted
supply as well as fast disposal. He advised that the suppliers of these spare parts should be treated
as partners and said that in case of failure of spares, joint inspection should be carried out with
them to find out the appropriate solution of the problem and to establish the reasons of failure.
Welcoming the representatives from Railway Board, Zonal Railways and RDSO Shri
V.P.Pathak, General Manager said that DLW continuously increasing the production of HHP
locomotives as well as electrical locomotives. He asked the Zonal Railways to give feedback
regarding the performance of these locomotives regularly, so that on the basis of available
informations, quality spares could be supplied to them. He also assured that DLW will extend its
full support to Zonal Railways in seeking out of their problems.
Addressing representatives of the meeting Shri Ashok Kumar Singh, Chief Mechanical
Engineer threw light upon the efforts of DLW for the development of new locomotives and
increasing the production, he said that besides the production, we are in efforts to develop the new
sources of the spare parts of these locomotives to ensure their uninterrupted supply. He advised
the Zonal Railways to send the indents well in time for the supply of spares.
Speaking on this occasion, Shri Suneet Sharma,
Chief Mechanical Engineer threw light on the efforts
being made by the Stores Department to maintain the
supply chain of spares for the HHP locomotives to the
Zonal Railways according to their demand and assured
them of improving the supply of it. On this occasion,
Shri V.K.Agarwal, Addl. Member/Electrical, Railway
Board focussed in detail on the general deficiencies
found in spares of HHP locomotives and emphasised
on improving their quality and supply. In the meeting,
DLW’s HODs as well as representatives of Zonal
Railways expressed their views and submitted their
demand of spares for the year 2017-18. Earlier, welcoming the officers and representatives of
Zonal Railways Shri Sanjay Katiyar, CME/M apprised of them about the improvements being made
in the supply of spares of high horse power locomotives and two day schedule/minutes of the
meeting. Senior officials of Railway Board, RDSO and Zonal Railways participated in this meeting.
On this occasion, the suppliers of spare parts of high horse power locomotives also apprised about
the development of new components to the delegates through presentation.
During the meeting, the demand and supply of spare parts, warranty claims and other
various technical issues related to high horse power locomotives were discussed with Zonal
Railways.
Member/Traction, Railway Board flagged-off 425th Dual Cab HHP Locomotive
Shri Ghanshyam Singh, Member/Traction, Railway Board flagged-off flower bedecked 425th
Dual Cab HHP Diesel Locomotive decorated in resplendent colour scheme at Diesel Locomotive
Works Loco Assembly Shop on 15th September, 2017 with proper ritual.
Before flagging-off he inspected the driver cab of
above locomotive along with Shri V.P.Pathak, General
Manager, DLW and other principal officers. During the
inspection of locomotive Shri Singh was appraised about
the salient features of the locomotive by General
Manager Shri Pathak and Chief Mechanical Engineer Shri
Suneet Sharma. This dual cab 4500 HP locomotive no
40510 is being pressed in to service at Siliguri Diesel
Shed of Northeast Frontier Railway.
Expressing satisfaction over the development
and progress of manufacturing of locomotive,
Member/Traction declared a group reward of ` 25000/-
for DLW employees.
During the visit he also inspected under
manufactured Locomotive for Myanmar and newly
manufactured electrical locomotive. Shri Yogesh
Mohan, Chief Mecanical Engineer/Production conducted the whole programme efficiently.
On this occasion, Member/Traction also met Staff Council members and received
memorandum from them.
