TimDelCurtoisaProfessorandNancyCameronChair in Animal and Range Sciences at Montana State University. His position is focused onsustainable beef production systems researchwith a 60% research, 30% teaching, and 10%service appointment. Prior to coming toMontana State University, DelCurto served astheDirectorandProgramHeadof theEasternOregon Agricultural & Natural Resource Program which included two range livestockresearchstations(BurnsandUnionStations)of

OregonStateUniversity.Hisresponsibilitiesincludedadministeringamulti-disciplinarystaffwithstrongmulti-agencycooperativerelationshipsaswellasmaintainingaproductiverangebeefcattlenutritionandmanagementresearch program, and teaching Animal & Range Sciences curriculum in theOSUProgramatEasternOregonUniversity. DelCurtowasbornandraisedona4thgenerationcattleranchineasternOregonandearnedhisBS(1984)andMS(1986)degreesfromOregonStateUniversity,anddoctoratedegree from Kansas State University (1989) in Ruminant Nutrition.DelCurto was hired in 1989 as a research scientist at the OSU EasternOregonAgriculturalResearchCenter.In1994,DelCurtowaspromotedtoAssociateProfessorandAssistantDirectorandservedinthiscapacityuntil2004whenhewaspromotedtoDirector. Hisresearch is internationallyrecognized and focuses on beef cattle grazing behavior/management,andsubsequentrelationshipstowildlifeandvegetationdiversityrelativeon both private and public rangelands. In addition, DelCurto conductsresearch evaluating the optimal use of dormant, low-quality, forage byevaluatingstrategicsupplementationandothermethodstoenhancetheuseofrangelandforageswhiledecreasingtherelianceonharvestedfeeds.Dr.DelCurtohasreceivednumerousawardsincludingtheWesternSectionAmericanSocietyofAnimalScienceYoungScientistAward(2000),OregonStateUniversity’sSavoryAward(2001)forOutstandingYoungFaculty,andtwicerecognized(2010&2012)fortheOldfield/E.R.JackmanTeamAward.

Fred Wacker is a fourth-generation Montanarancher who operates Cross Four Ranch andChoiceLivestockLLCnearMilesCity.CrossFourRanch has a commercial cow/calf herd, runsgrass yearlings and operates a backgroundingfeedlot.ChoiceLivestockLLCthenfinishesthecattleinfeedlotsinColoradoandNebraskaandmarkets them directly to packers. Cross FourRanch and Choice Livestock LLC are certifiedVerified Natural and NHTC (Non HormoneTreatedCattle)aswellasthehumanehandling

GAP (GlobalAnimalPartnership). Approximately95%of thecattle theymarketareNaturalGAPCertified.FredisthecurrentfirstVicePresidentofMontana StockgrowersAssociation (MSGA) and is a currentmemberof the Board of Directors for theNational Cattlemen’s Beef Association(NCBA). Heisalso inhisfifthyearofservingasaboardmemberoftheNorthAmericanLimousinFoundation(NALF).

FEATURED SPEAKERSTurkStovallrancheswithhisfamilysoutheastofBillingsonadiversifiedranchmadeupofcow/calf,yearling,hayproduction,andfeedlotdivi-sions.HereceivedhisBSdegreefromMontanaState University, an MS degree at OklahomaState University, and his MBA at Purdue Uni-versity.Beforecomingbacktothefamilyranch,Turk worked for Certified Angus Beef, NorthPlatteFeeders,andORIgen,Inc.

Eric Belasco is an Associate Professor in theDepartment of Agricultural Economics and EconomicsatMontanaStateUniversity.Here-ceived both his M.S. and Ph.D. in Economicsfrom North Carolina State University in 2005and 2007, respectively. He conducts researchintheareasofagriculturalmarketing,riskman-agement,farmpolicy,andfinancialengineering.Examples of this research include evaluationsinto grid pricing risk, the use of forward con-tractsinmitigatingprofitrisk,modelingrevenue

riskincattleproduction,andcharacterizingthelinkbetweenweatherandproductionindicators.

Brandon Mosher is the general manager of the Pryor CreekUnit of the Vermilion Ranch nearBillings.HehasconsiderableAI,ranchmanage-ment, and confinement feeding experience inthe Montana livestock industry. Brandon is aproudmemberofthethirdgenerationworkingonthefamilyranchandheandhiswifeLisaareraisingmembersofthefourthgeneration.

Michele Payn, CSP, connects the people andscience of food and farming as principal of CauseMattersCorp. She is known forbeingacommunitycatalyst,apassionateadvocate forthe global agrifood system - and antagonizingpeople into action. Michele has worked withfarmersinmorethan25countries,raisedover$5 million in sponsorships for the NationalFFA Foundation and founded the weeklyonline Twitter conversation, AgChat and FoodChat. Michele’s degrees are in Agricultural

Communications and Animal Science from Michigan State University.ShehasearnedtheCertifiedSpeakingProfessionaldesignation,awardedto less than10%of professional speakers globally. She resideswithherdaughteronasmallfarmincentralIndiana,wheretheyenjoyRegisteredHolsteins, MSU Spartans and too many projects to count. Dr.PaulGriecoreceivedhisBAfromBostonUniversityin1966;hisMAfromColumbiaUniversityin1967;andhisPhDfromColumbiain1970.HewentontobeanNSFPostdoctoralFellowatHarvardUniversityfrom1970-1971.Dr.GriecoandhiswifeBarbarbacreatedanendowmentwiththeMSUFoundationtosupportaBeefCattleLectureSeries for theAnimalandRangeSciencesDepartment.Ourheartfelt thanks to theGriecos for theirgenerouscontribution.

Dr. Ray Ansotegui – Professor Emeritus,Montana State University, received a Ph.D.in Ruminant Nutrition with a Minor inReproductive Physiology from New MexicoStateUniversity.Rayacceptedaoneyear,onetimeteaching/researchcontractwithMontanaStateAnimalandRangeSciences,andretired30plusyearslater.Ray received his earliest training on familyranches in Northern Nevada and SouthernOregon and currently artificially inseminates

(A.I.)severalthousandcowsperyearwithhiscrews(formerMSUstudents).He alsodoes consulting and speaking forA.I. Companies, FeedDealers,Ranchers,Veterinarians,andExtension.

Dr. Paisley was raised on a cattle ranch nearOshkosh, Nebraska and received both his B.S.andM.S. degrees in Animal Science from theUniversity of Wyoming. Steve received hisPh.D inAnimalNutritionfromOklahomaStateUniversityandwasinitiallyhiredbyKansasStateUniversity as the SouthCentralArea LivestockSpecialist in Hutchinson, KS. In 2001 Stevejoined theUniversityofWyomingDepartmentofAnimal Science as the State ExtensionBeefCattleSpecialist.Inthefallof2007,Steveand

hisfamilyrelocated,withSteveworkingoutofthenewSAREC(SustainableAgricultureResearchandExtensionCenter)stationnearLingle,WY,whereheisassistantdirector.Steve,hiswifeCarrie,andtheirthreechildrenTy,ToddandHadleyJanelivenorthofWheatland,WY.onacentennialranchthathasbeenownedandoperatedbyhiswife’sfamilysince1888.

Jim Logan is the Wyoming state veterinarianhaving held this position from 1998 to 2004and again from 2009 until the present time.Inbetweenstintsasstateveterinarian,hehadreturnedtosoloprivatepracticefor2yearsandthen served as assistant state veterinarian for1½years.Priortobecomingstateveterinarianhe was a solo practitioner in a mixed animalpracticeinRiverton,WYfor23years.Heisalsoalife-longsheepproducer.DrLoganattendedtheUniversity of Wyoming for his Pre-Veterinary

education and received his Bachelor of Science in Animal Science fromColoradoStateUniversityin1973andhisDoctorateofVeterinaryMedicinetherein1975.HeisamemberoftheUSAHA,NationalAssemblyofStateAnimalHealthOfficials,AVMA,WyomingVMA,WesternStatesLivestockHealthAssociation,WyomingWoolgrowersAssociation,andtheAmericanSheepIndustryAssociation.HeispastchairmanoftheUSAHACommitteeson Brucellosis and Scrapie. He has served on numerous state and localboards including WY livestock, hospital, school, 4-H, and group homeboardsduringhiscareer.Heandhiswife,Stephanie,aremembersoftheRivertonLighthouseBibleChurch.TheymaketheirhomenorthofRiverton,WYwheretheyraisedtheirthreedaughters,Laura,Betsy,andHeidi.Theynowhaveeightbeautifulgrandchildren(6girlsand2boys).
