The Refugee Rese lement Program works with refugees from various parts of the world (Iraq, Somali, Syria, Ethiopia, Sudan, etc.) for 90 days beginning with their arrival in Rochester, but even before that we have secured, and furnished, safe and stable housing for them. Within the 90 days we connect our families with the “building blocks” they need to eventually achieve self-suffi ciency and fi nancial stability: including proper documents, access to health care, educa on for children and adults, employment, food security, fi nancial literacy, and cultural orienta ons. Working with over 25 area community service providers we begin equipping our families with the knowledge and skills needed to become self-suffi cient and empowered.
