Electric Park Brake (EPB)Your vehicle is equipped with a new ElectricPark Brake System (EPB) that offers greaterconvenience. The EPB switch is located in thecenter console.

To apply the park brake manually, pull up on theswitch momentarily. The BRAKE warning lampin the instrument cluster and an indicator onthe switch will illuminate.

To release the park brake manually, the ignitionswitch must be in RUN. Then put your foot onthe brake pedal and push the park brake switchdown momentarily. Once the park brake is fullydisengaged, the BRAKE warning lamp and theswitch indicator will extinguish.

The park brake can also be automatically re-leased. With the engine running and the trans-mission in gear, release the brake pedal anddepress the throttle pedal. For safety reasons,your seat belt must also be fastened.

NOTE:

• You may hear a slight whirring sound fromthe back of the vehicle while the parkingbrake engages or disengages.

• If your foot is on the brake pedal while youare engaging or disengaging the parkingbrake, you may notice a small amount ofbrake pedal movement.

• The new Auto Park Brake feature can beused to apply the park brake automaticallyevery time you park the vehicle. Auto ParkBrake can be enabled and disabled in theSettings menu in Uconnect.

• The parking brake can be engaged evenwhen the ignition is OFF, however, it can onlybe disengaged when the ignition is in theRUN mode.

• Safehold is a new feature that will automati-cally apply the park brake under certainconditions. The EPB monitors the status ofthe driver’s seat belt, driver’s door and pedalpositions to determine if the driver may haveexited while the vehicle is still capable ofmoving and will then automatically apply thepark brake to prevent the vehicle from roll-ing.

• The EPB fault lamp will illuminate if theEPB switch is held for longer than 20 sec-onds in either the released or applied posi-tion. The light will extinguish upon releasingthe switch.

Auto Park Brake

The EPB can be programmed to be appliedautomatically whenever the vehicle speed isbelow 1.9 mph (3 km/h) and the automatictransmission is placed in PARK, or with amanual transmission, whenever the ignition isin the OFF mode. Auto Park Brake is enabledand disabled by customer selection through theCustomer Programmable Features section ofthe Uconnect Settings.

Any single Auto Park Brake application can bebypassed by pushing the EPB switch to therelease position while the transmission isplaced in PARK (automatic transmission) andthe ignition is in the RUN mode. In some cases,like Automatic or Dual clutch transmission,when the ignition is in the OFF mode EPB canautomatically apply even if it has been previ-ously disabled

Selec-TerrainSelec-Terrain combines the capabilities of thevehicle control systems, along with driver input,to provide the best performance for all terrains.

Mode Selection Guide

Rotate the Selec-Terrain knob to select thedesired mode.

• AUTO: This four-wheel drive operation is acontinuous operation, is fully automatic andcan be used on and off road. This modebalances traction to ensure maneuverabilityand acceleration improvement compared toa vehicle with two wheel drive. This modealso reduces fuel consumption, since it al-lows the disconnect of the drive shaft whereconditions permit.

• SNOW: This mode allows you to have greaterstability under conditions of bad weather.It's used on and off road and on surfaceswith poor traction, such as roads coveredwith snow. When in SNOW mode (dependingon certain operating conditions), the trans-mission will use second gear (rather thanfirst gear) during launches, to minimizewheel slippage, except for in 4–Low (Trail-hawk models only).

• SAND: For off-road driving or use on surfaceswith poor traction, such as sandy bottoms.The transmission is set to provide maximumtraction. This mode allows more wheel spinand higher shift points to help motor throughloose areas.

• MUD: For off-road driving or use on surfaceswith poor traction, such as roads covered bymud or wet grass.

• ROCK (Trailhawk only): This mode is onlyavailable in 4WD LOW range. The devicesets the vehicle to maximize traction andallow the highest steering capacity for off-road surfaces. This mode gives you the maxi-mum performance off-road. Use for lowspeed obstacles such as large rocks, deepruts, etc.

NOTE:

• Rock mode is only available on the vehiclesequipped with the Trailhawk package.

• Activate the Hill Descent Control or SelecSpeed Control for steep downhill control.

Keyless Enter-N-Go —If EquippedThe Passive Entry system is an enhancement tothe vehicle’s Remote Keyless Entry system anda feature of Keyless Enter-N-Go. This featureallows you to lock and unlock the vehicle’sdoor(s) without having to push the key fob lockor unlock buttons.

NOTE:

• Passive Entry can be enabled or disabled.

• If wearing gloves on your hands, or if it hasbeen raining/snowing on the Passive Entrydoor handle, the unlock sensitivity can beaffected, resulting in a slower response time.

• If the vehicle is unlocked by the PassiveEntry Door Handle, and no door is openedwithin 60 seconds, the vehicle will re-lockand if equipped, the security alarm will arm.

• The key fob may not be able to be detectedby the vehicle keyless-go system if it islocated next to a mobile phone, laptop orother electronic device; these devices mayblock the key fob’s wireless signal and pre-vent the keyless-go system from starting thevehicle.

To Unlock From The Driver's OrPassenger’s Side DoorsWith a valid Passive Entry key fob within 5 ft(1.5 m) of the driver's door handle, grab thefront driver door handle to unlock the driver'sdoor automatically.

NOTE:If “Unlock All Doors 1st Press” is programmed,all doors will unlock when you grab hold of thefront driver’s door handle.”

To Unlock From The Passenger Side

With a valid Passive Entry key fob within 5 ft(1.5 m) of the passenger door handle, grab thefront passenger door handle to unlock all fourdoors and the liftgate automatically.

NOTE:All doors will unlock when the front passengerdoor handle is grabbed regardless of the driver’sdoor unlock preference setting (“Unlock DriverDoor 1st Press” or “Unlock All Doors 1st Press”).

To Lock The Vehicle’s Doors And Liftgate

With one of the vehicle’s Passive Entry key fobswithin 5 ft (1.5 m) of the driver or passengerfront door handles, push the door handle lockbutton to lock all four doors.

Do NOT grab the door handle when pushing thedoor handle lock button. This could unlock thedoor(s).

NOTE:The Passive Entry system will not operate if thekey fob battery is dead.

The vehicle doors can also be locked by usingthe lock button located on the vehicle’s interiordoor panel.

OpeningTo unlock the liftgate, use the key fob or acti-vate the power door lock switches located onthe driver door handle.

To open the liftgate, squeeze the electronicliftgate release and pull the liftgate open withone fluid motion.

The Liftgate Passive Entry unlock feature isbuilt into the Electronic Liftgate release. With avalid Passive Entry key fob within 5 ft (1.5 m) ofthe Liftgate, push the Electronic Liftgate re-lease to open with one fluid motion.

ClosingGrasp the liftgate closing handle and initiatelowering the liftgate. Release the handle whenthe liftgate takes over the closing effort.

NOTE:Before closing the liftgate, make sure to be inpossession of the key because the liftgate maybe locked.

To Lock The Liftgate

With a valid Passive Entry key fob within 5 ft(1.5 m) of the liftgate, pushing the KeylessEnter-N-Go — Passive Entry lock button lo-cated to the right of the outside handle releasewill lock the vehicle.

NOTE:The liftgate unlock feature is built into theelectronic liftgate release.

My Sky Retractable Roof —If EquippedThe roof consists of front and rear panels thatcan be removed independently. On some ve-hicles the front panel can be power operated.

To Open/Close The Front Panel

The power My Sky switches are located on theoverhead console. The switches are used toopen and close the front panel.

Venting The Front Panel

To vent the front panel push and release thevent switch. During the vent operation, anypush on the open/close switch will stop theclosing of the panel.

Removing Panels

• Remove the panels only when the vehicle isstationary.

• The rear panel can only be removed when thefront panel is completely closed or removed.

NOTE:Only remove the panels with your My Sky Key,located inside the panel storage bag in thecargo area.

Front Wiper Operation

The front wipers are operated by rotating aswitch, located on the end of the lever.

Rear Wiper Operation

The rear wiper/washer is operated by rotating aswitch, located at the middle of the lever.

NOTE:When the front wipers are activated and reversegear is engaged, the rear wiper will activate toclear the rear window.

Rain Sensing Wipers — If Equipped

This feature senses moisture on the windshieldand automatically activates the wipers for thedriver. The feature is especially useful for roadsplash or overspray from the windshield wash-ers of the vehicle ahead. Rotate the end of themultifunction lever to one of two settings toactivate this feature. Rain Sensing Wipers areactivated through the Uconnect Settings.

Parkview Rear Back-Up Camera— If EquippedYou can see an on-screen image of the rear ofyour vehicle whenever the transmission isshifted into REVERSE. The ParkView RearBack-Up Camera image will be displayed on theUconnect Display, located on the center stackof the instrument panel.

Front Fog Lights — If EquippedThe front fog light switch is built into theheadlight switch.

To activate the front fog lights, turn on theparking lights or the low beam headlights andpush the fog light button on the headlightswitch. To turn off the front fog lights, push thefog light button on the headlight switch a sec-ond time or turn off the headlight switch.

An indicator light in the instrument clusterilluminates when the fog lights are turned on.

NOTE:The fog lights will operate with the low beamheadlights or parking lights on. Selecting thehigh beam headlights will turn off the foglights.

Cornering Lights

The cornering lights are a feature to improvevisibility at night while turning the vehicle.When activated, a light incorporated in thefront fog light will illuminate on the side of thevehicle the steering wheel is rotated or the turnsignal indicator is on. It can be activatedthrough the Uconnect System.

Forward Collision Warning WithMitigation — If EquippedThe Forward Collision Warning (FCW) systemprovides the driver with active braking, audibleand visual warnings [within the instrumentcluster display] and may apply a brake jerk towarn the driver when it detects a potentialfrontal collision. The warnings and limitedbraking are intended to provide the driver withenough time to react and avoid or mitigate thepotential collision.

FCW monitors the information from theforward-looking sensor, as well as the Elec-tronic Brake Controller (EBC) to calculate aprobable collision. When the system deter-mines that a collision is probable, a warningmessage (both audible and visual) will be dis-played within the cluster display along with abrake jerk warning (previously enabled in theUconnect Settings). When the system sensesthe driver applying the brakes to avoid a prob-able collision, additional brake force will be

provided to the vehicle. When the system deter-mines a collision with the vehicle in front of youis no longer probable, the warning message willbe deactivated.

NOTE:The FCW feature can be customized and turnedoff through the Uconnect System touchscreen.

Blind Spot Monitoring —If EquippedThe Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) system usestwo radar-based sensors, located inside the rearbumper fascia, to detect highway licensablevehicles (automobiles, trucks, motorcycles,etc.) that enter the blind spot zones from therear/front/side of the vehicle.

Rear Cross Path

The Rear Cross Path (RCP) feature is intendedto aid the driver when backing out of parkingspaces where their vision of oncoming vehiclesmay be blocked. Proceed slowly and cautiouslyout of the parking space until the rear end of thevehicle is exposed. The RCP system will thenhave a clear view of the cross traffic and if anoncoming vehicle is detected, alert the driver.

Mode Of Operation

Three selectable modes of operation are avail-able in the Uconnect System. They are avail-able through the Uconnect System.

Blind Spot Monitoring Fault Warnings

Sensor Blinded – In the case of a sensorblinded:

• BSM Mirror Warning Lights are turned oncontinuously.

• An instrument cluster message will display“Blind Spot Monitoring Unavailable - WipeRear Bumper Corners.”

System Not Available – In the case of thesystem being temporary unavailable:

• BSM Mirror Warning Lights are turned oncontinuously.

• An instrument cluster message will display“Blind Spot Monitoring Temporary Unavail-able.”

In the case of the system being completelyunavailable:

• A chime will turn on.

• An instrument cluster message will display“Blind Spot Monitoring Unavailable - Ser-vice Required.”

LaneSense — If EquippedThe LaneSense system is operational at speedsabove 37 mph (60 km/h) and below 112 mph(180 km/h). The LaneSense system uses aforward looking camera to detect lane markingsand measure vehicle position within the laneboundaries.

Turning LaneSense ON Or OFF

The default status of LaneSense is “OFF”. TheLaneSense button is located on the switchpanel below the Uconnect display.

LaneSense Warning Message

The LaneSense system will indicate the currentlane drift condition through the instrumentcluster display. The instrument cluster displaywill provide a visual warning depicting the un-intentional lane departure.

When both lane markings are detected and thedriver unintentionally drifts out of the lane (noturn signal applied), the LaneSense systemprovides a haptic warning in the form of torqueapplied to the steering wheel to prompt thedriver to remain within the lane boundaries.

The driver may manually override the hapticwarning by applying torque into the steeringwheel at any time. When only a single lanemarking is detected and the driver unintention-ally drifts across the lane marking (no turnsignal applied), the LaneSense system providesa visual warning through the instrument clusterdisplay to prompt the driver to remain withinthe lane. When only a single lane marking isdetected, a haptic (torque) warning will not beprovided.

NOTE:The LaneSense system can be customized andturned off through the Uconnect System touch-screen.
