Dear Parents,
We are pleased to share with you information on a variety of summer offerings and resources for your child. This
guide contains recreational programs, therapeutic resources, academic programs, clinics and camps for children in
Oakland County. Summer activities have long-lasting benefits beyond the immediate enjoyment you and your child
will experience. This guide also supports our goal of helping all children reach their maximum potential. We hope
this guide helps you identify enriching and appropriate activities that will benefit your child’s growth and

Put your mind at ease and give your child the help he or she may need by calling Early On® Oakland at
248.209.2084 or Toll Free at 866.456.2084. Early On® Oakland is a system of services for children from
birth to three years of age, who have developmental delays or established health conditions. Early On®
Oakland will help you find the individual support that your child and family need.
Early On® Oakland Information
Community Education Centers Babies and toddlers learn at different rates – some
faster, some slower. But, if a little voice inside your
head is telling you something isn't “quite right,” don't
wait for help. The first years of a child's life are too
important to let slip by, waiting to see if your little one
“outgrows” your concern.

Build Up helps parents and their children, ages 3 through 5, get additional educational support as they
begin and continue to learn the skills needed to enter kindergarten.
Our goal is to refer all children who may be eligible for special education services through Michigan’s
Administrative Rules for Special Education and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act Part B.
Build Up Michigan provides information about special education programs and services and helps to
arrange a free educational evaluations to determine eligibility.
Our public school system does help find these children. But with your help, children with special needs
can be identified sooner. Studies indicate early intervention gets the child off to a stronger start. After all,
an early start is a better start!
