LEAD Maryland Foundation, Inc.

is dedicated to identifying and

developing leadership to serve

agriculture, natural resources, and

rural communities.

Join the Next Class of LEAD Fellows

LEAD Maryland Foundation will be accepting applications in 2018 for the next class of LEAD Fellows. The new group, Class XI, will participate in 2019-2020. Applications will be available online and accepted June 1 - October 1, 2018.

Class IX (2015-2017): UAE & India

Fellows completed a study tour in United Arab Emirates and India. Because it is important for leaders to understand other perspectives on public issues, and to see other ways to approach problem-solving, the LEAD study tour is an important part of program curriculum.

LEAD travel experiences change the way Fellows see themselves and their abilities. Fellows build self-confi dence for accepting new leadership responsibilities.

Many people—serving as volunteers, program alumni, or representing other

organizations, government offi ces, businesses, educational institutions, or employers—made

signifi cant gifts of time, travel, planning, speaking, presenting, teaching, training, leading

tours, hosting, and otherwise adding value to LEAD’s educational programming and to the

organization’s volunteer committees and board. Thank you for giving your time and services, we

appreciate these precious gifts, too!

Thank you to the many people, employers, organizations, and family members who

have invested into the success of the LEAD Fellows by providing scholarships or otherwise

assisting with paying program participation fees (tuition). Though payments of the fees are

the responsibilities of the Fellows and cannot be recognized as charitable contributions, your

support is important and appreciated.

Thank you to the many sponsors supporting LEAD Maryland Foundation’s Image of Agriculture

Symposium, November 19, 2016. The event was led by LEAD Class IX Fellows. Many symposium sponsors are recognized in the Fiscal Year 2016

Annual Report, others are listed within this 2017 report. All symposium support is appreciated.

Thank you to program graduates who participated in the “Alumni Challenge” during calendar year 2016. Congratulations to Class

III (2003-2004) for leading the way with 77% of the class members making a donation to the

Foundation, raising nearly $5,000! Collectively, all LEAD Alumni raised nearly $10,000!
