Introduction
Established in 1975 Firman Glass is one of the
leading independent glass processors in the UK,
manufacturing toughened glass, laminated glass
and specialist sealed units.
Based in Harold Wood Essex within 5 minutes of
junction 28 of the M25 and half an hour from
Central London, we are ideally situated to service
our ever growing and diverse customer base.
Manufacturing all forms of processed toughened
glass, with comprehensive stocks of clear float, low
iron, satin, body tinted, mirrors, laminated glass,
acoustic laminated and fire rated glass.
With some of the most advanced capabilities in
place Firman Glass is able to manufacture high

Firman Glass new toughening plant includes two
bending chambers which work alongside the
standard flat bed.
The smaller chamber will bend glass from 5mm to
12mm thick to a maximum size of 2850mm x
1000mm bent and with the following minimum radii.
5mm, 6mm = 450mm
8mm, 10mm = 1000mm
12mm = 1200mm
The large chamber will bend glass from 6mm to
19mm thick to a maximum size of 2850mm x
3600mm bent and with the following minimum radii.
6mm = 1500mm8mm, 10mm = 1800mm12mm, 15mm = 2000mm19mm = 2500mm
Working in conjunction with the flat toughening facility
to a maximum flat size of 2850mm wide x 5000mm
long. Firman Glass can now offer the Architect,
Designer and Contractor a complete service for
multiple uses such as balustrades, partitions, shower
screens, revolving door enclosures, full height barriers,
partitions and shopfronts.
Curved Glass can be processed as with flat glass and
can be decorated by sandblasting and back painting.

Stock
Clear float and low iron glass from 4mm-19mm
thickness, tinted, satin, fire rated, mirrors, standard
laminated, acoustic laminated, low E including
laminated. Anti-slip patterns.
Toughened Glass
New Northglass tempering furnace. Maximum
flat toughening size 2850mm x 5000mm, plus
two glass bending chambers
Processing
Two straight line edging machines. Four CNC
processing stations with the largest size of 4600mm
x 3250mm. Shaped produced from templates or
CAD files. CNC drilling. Water jet cutting.
Laminating
Maximum size of 6000mm x 2800mm PVB, EVA
and Extra Strong interlayers. Full range of
Vanceva coloured interlays plus printed PET films
and decorative fabrics and mesh interlays.
SentryGlas® Ionoplast Interlayer
SentryGlas® interlayer is five times stronger and
up to 100 times stiffer than conventional laminating
materials. Unlike other interlayers it is much less
vulnerable to moisture exposure.

to a maximum size of 6000mm x 3000mm
dependent on the glass specification. Sikasil®
IG-25 HM silicone sealed.
ColorfirmTMBack Painted Glass
Coloured glass to BS, RAL, Dulux or Farrow &
Ball references, on clear float or low iron
toughened glass, with full range of glass
processing options.
Switchable Glass - ON
Electrically operated switchable glass can be used
in partition screens, windows roof-lights and doors,
projection screens and security screens and in
various glass constructions including toughened
laminated sealed units.
Anti-Slip Glass
10mm/12mm thick stock range of 5 tested anti-slip
patterns plus bespoke sandblast designs for any
glass thickness. Test evidence is available and
testing of bespoke designs is possible.
UV Bonding
In-house UV bonding department for shop
displays cases, bottle display and glass features.
Switchable Glass - OFF
Technical support is available to assist with
loadings and specifications.

The SentryGlas® interlayer is five times stronger and up to 100 times

the glass can be a more active structural element in the building
envelope, opening up design possibilities that didn’t exist before. Besides
its strength, SentryGlas® ionoplast interlayer retains its clarity – even after

Canopies

Mirrors
Standard low iron Pilkington mirror in jumbo stock
size plus bronze and grey body tinted. Mirrors are
often sand blast through the rear coating to create
a glow zone when lit from behind.
Glass Doors
Toughened glass doors supplied complete with
ironmongery for shopfronts, internal partitions and
showers screens. Glass decoration options are
available.
