The 11 assists place her into a tie for second in the sin- gle-game Halton Arena records and a tie for ninth overall in single-game program history. • Senior Amaya Ransom continued filling up the scoring column, as well, as she reached dou- ble-figure points for the eighth-straight contest to open the campaign. She had only six ca- reer double-digit scoring efforts entering the year through her first three seasons with the program. • Charlotte women’s basketball and Charlotte IMG Sports Marketing have announced three upcoming games to be carried live on 730 The Game ESPN Charlotte, the flagship station of 49ers athletics. Games to be broadcast on the station include Dec. 21 at Davidson, Feb. 25 against Middle Tennessee and March 1 against Old Dominion. (8) PROBABLE STARTERS (BASED ON LAST GAME) No. Name Pos. Ht. SEASON OPENERS• Charlotte owns a 27-16 all-time record in season openers after ral-lying to defeat Duquesne, 75-72, Nov. 10, 2017, inside Halton Arena.• The 49ers have won each of their last eight openers, including a 7-0 mark under head coach Cara Consuegra.• Charlotte owns a 21-1 record when the season opener is also at home, including an 18-game win streak in such contests. The last loss during a season opener, which also was at home, was a 68-64 setback to Wingate Nov. 27, 1982.• The Niners are 6-0 under Consuegra when the season opener was contested inside Halton Arena through the Nov. 10 matchup with Duquesne.

JAMISON-MYERS NAMED AMONG C-USA’S ELITE• Charlotte redshirt senior forward Nyilah Jamison-Myers has been voted to the Preseason All-Conference USA Team, as announced by the league office Oct. 17.• Jamison-Myers hits the court for her final campaign in 2017-18 af-ter earning All-Conference USA Defensive Team accolades, last year. She was also an All-North Carolina Sports Information Association Second Team choice.• As a redshirt junior making her 49ers debut in 2016-17, the Or-angeburg, South Carolina, native started 29 of the 31 games in which she played, including the final 27 contests of the season. She set a program single-game field-goal percentage record with an 11-of-12 (91.7 percent) performance on her way to a career-high 23 points in the road win at Southern Miss Jan. 14. It was the begin-ning of a stretch in which she reached double-digit points in eight-straight games, all against league foes.• She nearly equaled that scoring output with 22 on nine field goals made at FIU Feb. 4, as the Niners tallied a Cara Consuegra-era record 101 points.• All five of her double-doubles came against Conference USA competition, starting with a 12-point, 10-rebound effort in the Ed-ucation Day triumph against eventual league champion WKU Jan. 5. She also added 19 points versus Marshall in the Conference USA Championships Opening Round, helping Charlotte advance to the quarterfinals.• A force around the rim, she finished with at least 70.0 percent field goals made in four games. She grabbed at least one board in every game with multiple rebounds in 29 contests. She was the Confer-

ence USA with 63 blocked shots, including a league-best tying 36 in conference games.• Against Middle Tennessee Feb. 11, she posted a career-high matching five blocked shots.• Jamison-Myers is one of two returning starters and seven returning letterwinners for this year’s 49ers squad

THREE GAMES PICKED UP BY FLAGSHIP STATION• Three Charlotte 49ers wom-en’s basketball games will be broadcast, this season, on 730 The Game ESPN Charlotte as part of a previously an-nounced contractual agree-ment between the station and Charlotte IMG Sports Marketing.• Selected games for the over-the-air broadcasts will be Dec. 21 at Davidson (2 p.m.), Feb. 25 against Middle Tennessee (1 p.m.) and March 1 against Old Dominion (5 p.m.). It marks the first time the station will carry a road Niners’ contest, while the other two match-ups are both scheduled inside Halton Arena.• The station became the first to carry over-the-air broadcasts of the Niners’ women’s basketball program when it picked up three games during the 2012-13 season. Other games were added in 2013-14 before returning this year. RAVENTÓS TIES CAREER HIGH FOR DISTRIBUTION• Charlotte junior point guard Laia Raventós had her best game of the season in terms of assists Dec. 3 when the 49ers topped Coppin State.• She handed out a season-high and career-best tying 11 assists against the Eagles, marking her third career game in double digits.• The mark is the 17th in program history in which an individual has registered at least 11 assists and the first since she reached the mile-stone against Rice March 3, 2016.• Her other double-figure assist outing, when she tallied 10, came Nov. 28, 2015, versus Mercer at the GSU Thanksgiving Classic in At-lanta.• The 11 assists also tie for the second most by a Niners individual in Halton Arena history, matching marks previously set by Sakellie Daniels in 2005 and Ny Hammonds in 2014, as well as her own per-formance against Rice in 2016.• The single-game Halton Arena standard is 14 by Hammonds against FIU Feb. 26, 2014. CRASHING THE GLASS AGAINST THE PIRATES• Charlotte hauled in a season-best 57 rebounds Nov. 30 at East Carolina, tying for the fourth-highest single-game total under head coach Cara Consuegra (2012-prseent).• Since Consuegra grabbed the reins of the program, the 49ers have grabbed at least 50 boards in 14 contests, including four times during the last two years.

PEARSON GRABBING DOUBLE-DIGIT REBOUNDS• Redshirt sophomore forward Dara Pearson has become quite a force for the Niners on the glass, averaging a team-high 8.0 per game through the Puerto Rico Clasico.• She has posted three double-figure rebounding games thus far, through the season’s opening six games, which comprise 60.0 per-cent of the overall individual totals in 2017-18.• Pearson’s double-digit efforts on the glass include career-high 12 against Rutgers (Nov. 16); 11 against Duquesne (Nov. 10); and 11 versus South Dakota State (Nov. 25) at the Puerto Rico Clasico.

CONSUEGRA MET ALMA MATER FOR THE FIRST TIME• Head coach Cara Consuegra and the 49ers squared off against her

alma mater for the first time since she has taken over the Charlotte program, as the Niners clashed with Iowa Nov. 23, Thanksgiving day, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, as part of the relocated Puerto Rico Clasico.• Consuegra graduated from the Big Ten school in 2001 as one of the most decorated players in Hawkeyes history, as she earned multiple Honorable Mention All-American honors, named to the all-league first team as a senior, was a three-time academic all-conference team selection, received the Big Ten Tournament Most Outstanding Player award and was a recipient of an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. • Consuegra was the longtime school career assists record holder, and upon her graduation, was one of only 13 Big Ten players to net 1,000 career points and 500 career assists. LOW-SCORING VICTORY UNDER CONSUEGRA• Charlotte needed just 51 points to net the 51-47 triumph at UNC Asheville Nov. 18, the fewest it has scored in a win during head coach Cara Consuegra’s seven seasons.• In fact, it’s the fewest for the 49ers in a victory since a 50-45 tri-umph over USF Feb. 4, 2001, during the program’s first stint in Con-ference USA.

RAVENTÓS HITS CLUTCH FOURTH-QUARTER SHOTS• Junior Laia Raventós tallied a game-high 19 points in the Nov. 18 contest at UNC Asheville but her most important baskets came in the fourth quarter as the Niners looked to lock up the victory.• She hit consecutive shots to beat the shot clock in the final frame, as the 49ers kept their distance from the in-state foe. • First, she buried a 3-pointer from the top-of-the-key, which banked off the glass, at the 2:26 mark to extend the lead to 46-41.• Then, after the Bulldogs closed to within two, 46-44, she used a step-back move to shake free her defender and drained a long two, from just inside the 3-point arc, with 23.2 seconds left to double the margin late.

WILSON SETS PAIR OF SCHOOL RECORDS AT STRIPE• Freshman Octavia Wilson continues to pour in the points, raising her total in each of the season’s first three games with the most re-cent being a 21-point showing Nov. 16 against Rutgers, marking the first 20-plus scoring effort by a 49ers individual, this season.• As part of her 21 points, she knocked down 15-of-19 at the foul line, setting individual school single-game marks for free throws made and attempted, eclipsing by one both previous standards set by Sakellie Daniels versus East Carolina in the Conference USA Cham-pionships March 4, 2004, with 14-of-18 against the Pirates.• Both of Wilson’s marks also are the highest for any Charlotte player inside Halton Arena, topping the 12 made and 15 attempted previ-ously established.

ALUKA-WHITE; WOODS RECEIVE TITLE CHANGES• Joanne Aluka-White, the longest tenured coach on the staff besides

Consuegra, has been elevated to associate head coach, while Nicole Woods, who also has spent considerable time with the program, has added recruiting coordinator to her assistant coaching title.• Aluka-White joined the 49ers in 2012-13, Consuegra’s second season and is currently in her sixth year on the bench. During her tenure, Charlotte has reached the postseason three times, including a run to the WNIT Sweet 16 in 2013.• Her on-court coaching focuses primarily on the post players, where the Niners have had great success under watch. Redshirt senior Ny-ilah Jamison-Myers is the latest individual to be recognized through-out Conference USA, as she was tabbed to the preseason all-league squad. Last year, Jamison-Myers earned an All-Conference USA De-fensive Team honor.• Aluka-White also oversaw the development of Alexis Alexander into an All-Conference USA Second Team selection as a senior in 2016, while classmate Kira Gordon joined the 1,000-point club be-fore her career concluded.• Woods arrived in Charlotte a year after Aluka-White, in 2013-14, and is in her fifth year with the school. Several players have seen their careers prosper under her guidance, including one of the most well-rounded players in program history, Lefty Webster. Webster capped her time in the green and white last year ranked fifth on the career scoring list with 1,503 points, and as one of only two players in school history with at least 1400 points, 600 rebounds, 300 assists, 200 steals and 75 blocked shots.• Woods also served as the position coach for Grace Hunter, an All-Conference USA First Team selection, and Hillary Sigmon, a 2015 graduate who held several of the school’s all-time 3-point records before she was passed this past year by Ciara Gregory. Sigmon went on to continue her career on the professional level in Germany.• Current senior Amaya Ransom, the only four-year senior in this year’s class, made an immediate splash with 14 points on 5-of-5 shooting, including 4-of-4 from behind the 3-point arc, in her debut at Liberty to begin the 2014-15 campaign. Ransom’s exploits earned her the Conference USA Freshman of the Week honor.

WILSON NAMED C-USA FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK• Charlotte guard Octavia Wilson has started her collegiate career by earning the first Conference USA Freshman of the Week honor the league has given out, the conference office announced Nov. 13.• It marks the eighth Conference USA Freshman of the Week plaudit in program history and the first since 2015-16. All eight accolades have come under head coach Cara Consuegra. • She joins current senior Amaya Ransom as the only two winners to claim it after the season’s first weekend.• Wilson, a Greenbelt, Maryland, native, helped lead the 49ers to a 1-1 record over opening weekend, averaging 12.5 points, 3.0 re-bounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steals as the squad started the season with a thrilling 75-72 home victory over Duquesne Nov. 10 before falling 80-66 at Wisconsin Nov. 12.• She was the lone freshman to start both contests and averaged 24.0 points per game. • She opened her career with 10 points, including 6-of-6 at the foul line, and three rebounds, two assists and a steal in the come-from-behind win over Duquesne. She helped spark the rally after the Nin-ers found themselves down 15 in the third quarter.• She then poured in a career-high 15 points on 6-of-9 field goals, including her first career 3-pointer, against the Big Ten’s Badgers. Again, she grabbed three rebounds, handed out two assists and swiped a steal in a career-best 27 minutes.

CHARLOTTE COMPLETES COMEBACK IN WIN OVER DUKES• The 49ers trailed by 15 late in the third quarter of the season open-er Nov. 10 against Duquesne before mounting a rally and taking the 75-72 triumph over the Dukes inside Halton Arena.• It ties for the largest come-from-behind win during head coach Cara Consuegra’s tenure and is the biggest against a non-conference opponent.

• Overall during her seven years, Charlotte has overcome 11 dou-ble-digit deficits to pull out victories with all but four of those com-ing against Conference USA competition.

EARNING FREE ONES IN THE OPENER• Charlotte totaled a Cara Consuegra-era record 31-of-43 free throws Nov. 10 in the season opener against Duquesne.• The 31 free throws made tie for the sixth best in program history and are the most since 37 against Saint Francis (Pa.) Nov. 17, 2006.• Since Halton Arena opened in December 1996, the 31 free throws made are the third highest by the Niners in home games played in-side the facility.• Meanwhile, the 43 free throws attempted are the ninth most in a single game in school history and the highest since 51 against Iona Nov. 11, 2010.• In the Halton Arena record books, the 43 attempts are also the third most on record by Charlotte inside its on-campus venue.

BIG TEN OPPONENTS THREE TIMES IN FOUR GAMES• Never afraid to face ‘Power 5’ competition, Charlotte’s non-confer-ence schedule is highlighted by three contests in a four-game stretch during November against opponents from the Big Ten.• The 49ers faced Wisconsin (on the road) Nov. 12; welcomed Rutgers (at home) Nov. 16; and squared off against head coach Cara Con-suegra’s alma mater, Iowa (at a neutral site) Nov. 23 as part of the Puerto Rico Clasico in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.• Prior to last season when the Niners opened the campaign by play-ing host to Wisconsin Nov. 11, 2016, the last time Charlotte met a Big Ten opponent on the hardwood was Nov. 13, 2013, at Minnesota.

THANKSGIVING TOURNAMENT CHANGED CITIES• Due to the devastation and on-going recovery efforts in Puerto Rico from Hurricane Irma, the Thanksgiving tournament in which the Niners participated this year was shifted to Fort Lauderdale, Fla.• The Puerto Rico Clasico was played at Cardinal Gibbons Prep School in Fort Lauderdale.• Charlotte faced Iowa, head coach Cara Consuegra’s alma mater, and South Dakota State in the tournament, which also included Ala-bama, Elon, Morgan State and North Carolina State.
