MARVIN Test Drive
So far 36 counties with 389 employees have been visited by DOR and FAST staff.
Remaining counties will be scheduled from now through the end of July. Eight counties have yet to schedule.
Collectors are encouraged to invite staff from all county offices.
Users get a ‘script’ of regular day to day tasks to try in MARVIN to become more comfortable with the system.
Users get an opportunity to ask questions to make sure that the project team isn’t missing anything.
MARVIN Installation
Have contacted 79 of 82 counties, 12 have installed on at least one computer.
All counties should have at least 1 computer per office set up by April 28
If no one has tried to install MARVIN in your office by April 28, please contact your IT staff. If they have questions, please contact: [email protected]
Deadline for installation of MARVIN on all computers: June 2
County Financial File
MARVIN will provide daily and monthly summary information of motor vehicle activities to each county. Each county will receive 1 file, data will be split by seat, taxing district, and tax year.
Initial development deadline: April 21
Testing start: April 25
Working with 4 counties (Hinds, Madison, Hancock, Yazoo) to test against a small set of made-up MARVIN data, loaded to a ‘test’ version of each county system
Bookkeeper Sessions

Sessions will be held on:
May 15-16
May 17-18
May 22-23
May 24-25
Expert User Training
Intensive 4-day class for staff that can be the ‘go-to’ person at MARVIN go-live.
Dates:
June 5-8
June 26-29
July 10-13
Computer Based Training Modules (CBTs)
Training files that can be viewed in your office. Required viewing prior to attending classroom training.
Will be distributed through MARVIN staging
Tier 1 CBTs to be released on July 17
These are orientation to general concepts in MARVIN (FastVS) such as searching, navigating, etc.
Tier 1 CBTs are NOT an exact replica of what MARVIN data entry screens will look like. That will be shown in Tier 2 and Tier 3 training.
MARVIN Sandbox
A MARVIN environment that mirrors production as closely as possible so you can use it for practice. This will contain all active records from legacy and have security settings similar to those at go-live
Apply what you learn from CBTs and training to become more comfortable with the system
Available starting August 21
Classroom Training
Classes held September 5-29
Sign-ups start July 17
Will be held in multiple locations throughout the state.
All MARVIN users expected to participate

Tasks that need to happen to switch from legacy to MARVIN
Some tasks involve DOR, some county, some both
Details will be coming as tasks are discussed and finalized
Examples:
When will the last plate order go to Waldale?
When will everyone need to test their logon to production?
When will renewal cards go out after rollout?
Rollout
October 9, 2017, 172 days away!
All offices will go-live at once
Final 9035 reports will be run from legacy over the weekend of October 6-8.
Counties should plan to do 2 separate ‘end of month’ processes – one for legacy (October 2-6) and another for MARVIN (October 9-31)
MARVIN will send financial files starting the night of October 10
Important Reminders We are logging in with ‘all-access’ security, meaning that our user
account can do everything – this will not be true in production.
Everything is still under development and may change as we get closer to rollout.
