With the help of this Techbook, we aim to ofer you a fast and eicient service system, which will be an adapted version

of the B2B warranty, SAP-claim procedures and service we already run in the other divisions of SCOTT Sports SA.

By using the B2B warranty online program there is no longer a need to return defective parts back to you from the

dealer or from you to SCOTT Sports. This saves time and transport costs, makes each step of the claim procedure

traceable, and ofers you a full overview of your claim’s progress and related shipment of the replacement part.

For more information on our service, please kindly refer to the following chapters of this Wintersport Techbook MY16/17.

It provides a guideline and information on warranty procedures and forms, technical information, spare parts article

numbers and the details of our B2B system.

As per last season we will provide a starter kit with MY16/17 Ski Boots.

If you are a new member for the coming season MY16/17 then we will prepare “starter kit” box containing an

assortment of parts according to the total order of boots per country and split by model.

In the related Ski Boots chapter for service parts you will ind detailed diagrams of all boots and parts.

Nevertheless, it is mandatory to put all Ski Boots warranty claims into B2B to help us track the quality and

arrange on short notice corrective actions in construction, design and production.

To log the claim you need your SCOTT customer number and password to access our B2B system.

In the second part of this page you can see the agreement below, you have to agree and click at the small icon. In case there is a Material defect which caused a body harm you have to click at YES but only if there is a REAL Body injury! 5. Check all the information is correct and double check the Agreement box and Bodily Harm Reference.

6. Read the agreement. You must agree by clicking on the tick box to submit your warranty claim. If there is a Material defect that caused a REAL bodily injury, click YES. For all other claims, you must click NO. Click on the Create Claim Button.


In the last step the B2B will show you the claim Number, for each claim you will get a specific number In case there are some quesTons to a claim, please always use this number for all correspondence you will also get a mail with all important Data under MY TransacTon can you follow the process for each claim

Please kindly note that we only accept warranty claims from the B2B warranty system. We will not accept fax, mail or

other versions of warranty claims.

Using the claim number you receive after inalizing your claim on B2B, you can check the progress of your claim in

the regular B2B system and see the replacement part you will receive including shipment details in the same way as

in a regular order on B2B.

This system will speed-up our service and better facilitate communications in service and the warranty process as

you will have 24/7 access to this data.

The online B2B warranty system makes the warranty claim procedure fast and eicient by showing all the steps and

the progress of the claim to all parties involved. From “lodging the claim” up to “replacement delivered to customer”

each party can track the progress of the claim without any gap in communication.

In addition, the uploaded pictures help to improve our quality in engineering and production as all members of the

SKI WARRANTY RULES

SCOTT products are warranted to be free from defects in workmanship and materials for two (2) years from the date

of purchase from a SCOTT Authorized Retail Dealer, to the original purchaser.

All repaired or replaced SCOTT products are covered for only the remainder of the original warranty period. This

warranty does not extend to damage or defects caused by transport, handling, storage, rocks, aerials, acrobatics,

collisions, wear and tear, misuse, abuse, negligence, accident, lack of maintenance or modiication of the product.

In addition this warranty does not cover demos sold to retail customers, remounted, improperly mounted, or

improperly repaired products. The Authorized Dealers are compelled to instruct their clients thereof.

SCOTT will replace or repair the product or the element at no charge if determined to be defective by SCOTT’s

After-Sales Service. For proper warranty service please contact your closest SCOTT Authorized Dealer. Products sent

directly to SCOTT will not be accepted.

All warranty decisions will be made by SCOTT and those decisions are inal. Wintersport is a fun and exciting sport,

however it entails a certain amount of risk that all practicing people should be aware. Wintersport requires skill and

athletic abilities and is performed on extreme terrain. The potential for injury is inherent to the sport. Nature, laws and

regulations must be respected.

All SCOTT products manufactured by SCOTT Sports SA, bearing the registered SCOTT trademark are high

performance, high quality products, designed to render satisfactory service when subjected to normal conditions and

wear. The liability of SCOTT, for any claim of any kind shall, in no case, exceed the price paid for the product. Under

no circumstances shall SCOTT be subjected to any liability for loss of use or any indirect or consequential damages.

WALK MECHANISM COMPATIBILITY 2013- 2016

The Walk Mechanisms pictured (Left and Right) will come with the ixation bolts to match the Ski boots mentioned

on the sticker

The Walk Mechanisms will come in Silver/Green & Silver/Red 238633 Left 13-16 and 238632 Right 13-16.

Please take a special note of the screw length and cuf design below so the correct mounting screw is used.


RE-SOLING SKI BOOTS

We kindly inform you there is a possibility to re-sole our ski boots which use the Vibram sole (Mountaineering series)

this ofer is reserved for SCOTT ski boots only.

The factory has informed us that you can ship the boots directly to them for the sole replacement.

Please note some rules should be followed:

- This repair process is for a limited period once a year; the boots must be shipped to the factory from the middle of

May until 15th June.

- The Subsidiaries/Distributors have to collect all their customers’ boots and ship all the boots in one shipment to

factory. Please note that ski boots have to be sent back without inner liners inside.

- Invoicing will be directly charged to you from the factory, including the re-soling and shipping cost.

- Price will be Euros 75.- per pair + shipping cost.

Please note that if more shoes are shipped the cost of the shipping will be less.

- Shipment from subsidiaries to factory should be organized by your side.

12 SKI BINDINGS


SCOTT ALPINE BINDINGS

The BC 16 Guardian and BC 13 Guardian Bindings.

The following text will help you set-up, use and maintain the bindings in the appropriate way.

TO BE MOUNTED BY A SCOTT AUTHORIZED DEALER ONLY.

THESE ALPINE BINDINGS ARE INTENDED TO BE

USED ONLY WITH THE FOLLOWING SKI BOOTS:

- Alpine ski boots compliant with ISO 5355 standard

AND

- Ski boots equipped with “WTR technology”

labelled kit of walking soles for touring skiing

compliant with touring standard (ISO 9523).

Any use with other ski boots could cause the ski

binding-boot system to be faulty and afect release

characteristics, which would increase the risk of

serious injury while skiing.

Therefore, skiers are warned not to use this product

with any ski boots other than those meeting the

standards indicated above. Skiers are advised to

consult the dealer where this product was purchased,

or an equipment specialist at any SCOTT dealer.

MOUNTING & ADJUSTING PROCEDURE

1. For mounting Backcountry bindings, holes have to be drilled with the SCOTT mounting jig (ref 224 587) to ensure a proper alignment of the binding.

2. Mount the toe base plate and the step-in by tightening the screws at 4 N.m

5. îïsert the screw and tighten with a screwdriver between 2 and 4 N.m 6. Press the heel to lock in the step-in

7. Step in the boot and adjust the heel piece’s position with a screwdriver and check forward pressure.

8. Adjust the boot toe’s height by turning the adjustment screw to create a gap between the boot sole and the

binding.

HIKING MODE

SWITCH FROM SKIING TO HIKING POSITION

1. Use the ski pole to push backward the step in, lift the ski boot, and lip forward the hiking aid.

2. Hiking aid can be set in 2 positions:

SWITCHING FROM HIKING TO SKIING POSITION

1. The binding must be cleaned from snow, ice and dirt. DO NOT put the hand between the ski and the binding when switching to skiing position

2. Push back the climbing aid and lock down the binding heel piece

3. Before skiing check that the binding is correctly locked in


REPLACING SKI BRAKE

which brake to use according to the diferent ski

widths and binding models

1. Turn the screw (A) and remove forward the heel piece from the rear plate (B)

2. Push on the ski brake (A) and separate it from the heel piece (B)

3. Take the new ski brake (A), insert the two lugs and assemble the ski brake on the heel piece (B)

4. From the front, slide backward (A) the complete heel piece and readjust the heel piece’s position (B).

5. Step in the boot and check forward pressure as described above: Mounting and adjusting procedure

CRAMPON BACKCOUNTRY

Use the crampon which is adapted to the ski waist width.

1. Push backward the step in, lift the binding, and lip forward the hiking aid

2. Insert the crampon in the two lugs of the toe piece and lock the crampon

3. Before using crampons make sure that the hiking aid is in the low position. NEVER USING CRAMPONS IN THE HIGH POSITION

ADJUSTING

Oö÷ø ùúø ûüöding has been mounted, it is necessary to make the proper binding-to-boot adjustments. All SCOTT

bindings may be closed manually by simply lifting the heel lever. Adjustments must be re-checked every time boots

are changed. Use the following procedure.

WING ADJUSTMENT

1. Manual adjustment (ig. A1): only one adjustment screw, which is located on the left side of the toe piece.

- Place the boot in the binding

(closed position).

- Loosen the micrometric screws to

loosen the wings.

- Check that the tip of the boot

sole is flush against the butt plate

(fig. A2).

This contact is made when the

boot has lateral play. Do not over

tighten, the boot may no longer

be centered.

2. Automatic adjustment: the wings on the toe cup are self-adjusting.

TOE HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT

- With the boot in the binding, raise

the toe by turning the adjustment

screw, located on top of the toe piece,

counter clockwise.

- Pull the boot back to create a gap

between the boot sole and the

binding AFD.

- Lower the toe height by turning the

adjustment screw clockwise to obtain

the recommended gap (see the following

chart (fig. B1-B2).

- For models with automatic wing and

automatic height adjustments:

make forward pressure adjustment only.

See instructions in following chapters.

Note: Always check the forward pressure after making toe adjustments.

EG FOAM GRIP

The EG Foam grip ofers a 35cm grabbing zone and the

Strap Release System for safety. The Foam is designed for

multi-season use with bare hands.

FOAM GRIP+

The grip system includes a 15cm length extension system.

NOTCH STRIKE GRIP

The Notch Strike Grip has been ergonomically engineered

using soft thermoplastic rubber and polypropylene. The

lightweight, streamlined proile facilitates necessary wrist

articulation.

P-CORE GRIP

The P-Core Grip features injection-molded, soft thermo-

plastic rubber, signiicantly increasing your grip on the pole.

P-LITE GRIP

The P-Lite Grip is engineered to blend ergonomic comfort

with durability.

EG L GRIP

New for 2015-16 is the low-extended version of the EG+

Grip, ofering a 25cm grabbing zone.

RE-ENTRY STRAP

SCOTT ’s Re-entry Strap System features a fast and

easy adjustment buckle system. The FX 15X25 straps are

designed with a 25 mm wide strap on the back of the hand

for additional support and comfort. The Re-Entry system

provides a fast switch in the grabbing position.

FX 15X25 STRAP

The FX 15X25 straps feature an increased strap width on

the back of the hand for additional support. The injection-

molded nylon buckle exceeds a tensile strength of 800 psi.

FX 24 STRAP

The FX 24 strap is a parallel strap. It features an over-mold-

ed buckle and is slightly slimmer than the FX 15X25 strap.

JUNIOR ADJUSTABLE STRAP

The length and shape of the Junior Adjustable strap is

engineered to it children’s hands.

ADJUSTABLE COMFORT STRAP

The Adjustable Comfort Strap’s neoprene padding

guarantees best wearing comfort.

BASKETS POLE TIPS

RACE BASKET

The race basket is designed to minimize drag and wind

resistance when racing. This basket is featured on our

slalom race poles.

POWDER BASKET

The powder basket is designed for powder perfor-

mance, excelling in traversing situations. The basket

is a solid 90 mm in diameter and has strategic holes

to maintain a swing weight that is comfortable for

everyday use.

3.6 DISC BASKET

The 3.6 Disc Basket blends aerodynamic eiciency,

durability and design. The 3.6 disc basket is 60 mm in

diameter.

3.8 DISC BASKET

The 3.8 Disc Basket is identical to the 3.6, but with

80mm in diameter for better performance in powder.

TÜV BASKET

The TÜV basket is a high-performance, aerodynamic

basket and is found on the Junior/Kid 540 poles and

aluminum rental poles.

WINTER BASKET

The quick release ferrules mounted on all the mountain

poles allow baskets to be easily removed and interchanged.

INTERCHANGEABLE S 3.4 AND S 3.9

The interchangeable baskets are found in the MOUNTAIN

poles line for all-year use. The summer features a 4cm and

the winter a 9cm disk.

CARBON DIAMOND TIPS

Carbon Diamond Tip is a compound containing equal

parts of tungsten and carbon and is approximately three

times stifer than steel. This high performance tip en-

hances traction on ice and guarantees better durability.

ICE TIP

The Ice Tip is diamond shaped for unbeatable hold in

extreme conditions.

CONE TIP

The Cone Tip is manufactured from hardened steel and

designed for strength and durability.

ANODIZED TIP ADAPTER

The Anodized Tip Adapter is designed to strengthen

the tip of composite poles and is manufactured from

aluminum alloy and pairs with the ice tip.

PA ADAPTER WITH ICE AXE TIP

The PA Adapter is designed to strengthen the tip section

of composite poles and is manufactured from polyam-

ide, with an axe tip. Available in sizes: 11 mm and 9 mm.

DURAFLEX CARBIDE TIP

The Duralex Carbide Tip ofers greater lexibility and

reduces stress on pole tip.

EXPANDER POLE REPLACEMENT

�f you need to replace the expander inside the two-piece Life-Link poles from the MY16-17 season we have a small

number of expanders available (not on SAP). They are Left and right speciic.

Please follow the below instructions:

Step 1

Place the grip into water that has just boiled,

leave for one minute

Step 2

Pull the grip of from the upper shaft, push

the lower shaft through the upper

Step 3

Take out the Expander

Step 4

Attach the new Expander, and insert the

lower back into the upper

Step 5

You may need to heat the grip once more to

be able to push it back onto the pole.

Use a screwdriver to widen the frame groove so that

you can grab the slider.

PRODUCT LIABILITY

DEFINITION

- Product defect (a product is defective in this meaning if it is not as safe as it can be generally expected at the

moment of the irst placing on the market, e.g. a fault in construction, a fault in production, etc.);

- Bodily injury of the consumer caused by the product defect; and/or

- Property damages of other things than the defective product.

PROCEDURE

SCOTT Headquarters SOLELY handles product liability cases.

Therefore, please follow this check list.

If you do not follow this check list, SCOTT may be sued and may not be able to adequately defend its position. This

may result in unjustiied prejudices that may have detrimental consequences both for SCOTT’s trademark image and

your business relationship with SCOTT.

CHECKLIST

Please provide:

1. The claimant’s address and phone number.

2. A memo with the following information:

- What happened?

- Who was involved?

- When did the incident happen?

- Where did the incident happen?

- Why did the incident happen?

- What is the general appearance of the product?

- Detailed product information, e.g. frame number, model, etc.

3. The proof of purchase / sales slip.

4. Conirmation of the product’s periodical maintenance and service history.

5. A short summary of how the product has been used since it was purchased.

6. The complete written correspondence of the claimant, particularly medical certiicates, technical expertise, etc.

7. SHARP, GOOD QUALITY photos of the defective product from all sides showing the defects as clearly as possible; OR If the claimant does NOT provide the defective product for examination, then provide the name and address of the location where the product may be examined by us.

8. All written information in its original language. If the information is in a language other than English, German or French, please also translate it into one of these three languages for faster processing.

9. Careful storage of ALL pieces of evidence, particularly the defective piece.

ONLY with the explicit prior permission of SCOTT should you send the evidence back to the claimant. Please NEVER THROW IT AWAY!
