E N T E R TA I N M E N TFROM DUSK TILL DAWN THERE'S NEVER A DULL MOMENT...

P&O Cruises offers the very best in cruise entertainment. Days can be filled with as much or as little as you want, whilst evenings are no doubt the social highlight. When the sun goes down your ship begins to come alive with the hum of conversation and music, and you can be sure of a memorable night.

E N J OY. . .

9 West End Style Shows

9 Adagio Dancers

9 Cabaret

9 Cirque du Soleil style productions

9 Bungee diving acrobatics

With a range of activities taking place throughout day, you’ll struggle to fit everything in. From pub quizzes, to sports tournaments, dance lessons, informative talks and interactive demonstrations you’ll be spoilt for choice. Thankfully, you don’t need to remember when and where everything is taking place – Horizon; your ships daily newspaper is delivered to your cabin and contains a full list of activities. Of course, some days you just want to relax with a good book and do nothing at all. On these days you’ll find plenty of comfortable sun loungers outside and soft chairs inside to simply relax and do nothing at all.

At a select number of destinations you’ll have a wonderful opportunity to spend the evening, or even overnight, in port. This is a great chance to dig a little deeper and experience the local nightlife. For example:

• Spend an evening at the world famous ballet in St. Petersburg

• Get a true taste of Dublins pubs that line O’Connell Street

• Have lunch and dinner in one city, but on two different continents in the unique setting of Istanbul

Famous for its desire for reinvention and futuristic design, Tokyo is a city of the future. Though you can still find traces of the Shogun’s capital in the shadows of the skyscrapers

Witness the spectacular setting of Cape Town with the 3000 ft flat topped table mountain just a few miles from the southern tip of Africa.

The largest city in Turkey, draped mysteriously across two continents, Istanbul is a heady blend of East and West. Lose yourself in the Grand Bazaar whose 4,000 stalls bombard the senses.

Travel to the hidden city of Petra that looms like a mirage that sinks into the red sanstone hills of the desert. Dating back to 7’000 B Petra once was the capital of civilization from the Mediterranean to the Red Sea.

Britannia Steam - Ship

2015 is a very special year for the famous Cunard and Liverpool is the place to be! Cunard will be celebrating their 175th Anniversary, and what better way than to bring the 3 Queens together?

The 3 Queens will sail into the River Mersey for a magnificent celebration of the 175th anniversary. On the 24th May 2015 the Queen Mary 2 will arrive at Liverpool Cruise Terminal followed by the Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth the following day, 25th May 2015.

The 3 Queens will pull up closely to the Three Graces at the city’s Pier Head, Cunard’s headquarters from 1917 to 1967, making maritime history as this is the first time the ships have met up in Liverpool.

3 Queens Together

The Historic Recreation

The History of the Famous Transatlantic Route

Also on the 4th July 2015, exactly 175 years to

the day after Cunard established its first Atlantic

Crossing, Queen Mary 2 will sail from Liverpool

to Halifax to Boston, this is a historic recreation of

the original transatlantic crossing back in 1840 by

Cunard’s Britannia. This will also mark the first time

in over 50 years that passengers can depart from

Liverpool to board a Cunard ship and sail to the USA.

Unicorn, the coastal paddle steamer, made Cunard’s first voyage to Halifax to begin the

supplementary service to Montreal in May 1840. In July the first ocean-going steamer of the Britannia Class left Liverpool and arrived in Halifax after 12 days and 10 hours of sailing, with an average speed of 8.5 knots, before carrying on to Boston.

The mean time from Cunard’s quartet from Liverpool to Halifax during 1840 - 1841 was 13 days, 6 hours to

Halifax and the 11 days 4 hours homeward. Britannia Class of ships were the first class of ships Cunard had operating the Transatlantic route. The Atlantic steamship service in 1840 was a huge success and by 1845 steamships carried half of the transatlantic saloon passengers with Cunard dominating the trade.
