* Graduate Certificate available† Graduate Diploma available** This program is undertaken on an intensive basis. Please see the full program listing for more details^ Entering as a postgraduate student will generally only require four semesters of study1 Indicative 2016 semester fees are calculated based on a standard full-time study load in 2016 (usually this is 8 units, but this may vary for intensive programs). Fees for less than a standard full-time study load have been pro-rated; fees for programs that do not commence in Semester 1 should be pro-rated.UQ also charges a capped annual Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) – see page 52 for more details.
52 UQ Guide 2016 International Postgraduate Program Supplement
TUITION FEESCoursework award tuition fee
The University of Queensland has program-based fees for coursework award programs.
Program fees mean that all courses within a program are charged at the same tuition fee rate per unit for a given academic year. This means you will know what your tuition charges for that year will be.
The indicative fees assume that students enrol in a full-time study load (usually eight units per semester). For students who are not enrolled in a standard full-time study load, the fee is pro-rated. 2016 indicative annual/semester fees for programs, based on a standard full-time study load, are included in the 2016 Undergraduate and Postgraduate Program Supplements.
Each program’s fees are indexed annually. The indexation rate is fixed approximately 18 months in advance of a particular academic year, thereby allowing you to plan your finances ahead of time. The University’s intent is that fee rate increases will be kept to a minimum and that indexation rates will remain stable wherever possible. Since 2007 the average indexation rate has been four per cent.
To estimate the total cost of a program, multiply the semester or annual fee by the number of semesters or years. As a guide, you can add on the historical average indexation rate of four per cent per year (please note: this rate is subject to change).

Application for and payment of refunds Under US Federal William D Ford Direct Requests for tuition fee refunds mustbe made in writing to the Academic Registrar and submitted to the Student Centre. For refunds of tuition fees paid before a program begins, students may be requested to submit a refund request form with their bank account details.

No tuition fees are refunded to the US Government if the student withdraws having completed more than 60 per cent of the study period.

Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF)
In 2011 the Australian Parliament passed legislation allowing universities and other higher education providers to charge a fee for non-academic services such as sporting and recreation activities, employment and career advice, child care, financial advice, and food services. UQ levies the SSAF – which is capped at a maximum of $286 for 2015 – according to whether you are an internal or external student, or enrolled full-time or part-time. The fee is indexed annually. Information about the SSAF for 2015 is available online.
