Welcome to the city of Trondheim for the 2016 UEFA Super Cup.

This match has been given a new dimension as the curtain-raiser for the European club football season since the decision to celebrate the diversity of football on the continent and to take the best teams and players out across the national associations.

In Prague, Cardiff and Tbilisi, we saw the local community come together to share their passion for our sport, and we expect the same here in Trondheim, a beautiful city with a close connection to European football. Irrespective of your role here in Norway, we hope that you will enjoy the festival atmosphere, an excellent match between Real Madrid CF and Sevilla FC and a memorable season ahead.

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the capital of Norwegian football, Lerkendal and Trøndelag. We have more than 50,000 football-players in our region, mainly due to Rosenborg BK’s strong performance over many decades.

WELCOME TO TRONDHEIM

Trondheim is Norway’s third-largest city. It is a city of technology, culture, sports and food. The 35,000 students, many of whom attend the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), leave their mark on the city and contribute to a high level of innovation and a vibrant cultural life. Norway’s first Nobel Prize winners, May-Britt and Edvard Moser, who won the Nobel Prize in medicine in 2014, came from the Kavli Institute/NTNU.

Trondheim’s small city centre is perfect for cyclists. Excellent cycling paths lead to and around the city centre, while Trampe, the world’s first bike lift, in Bakklandet, the idyllic old town, is popular with residents and tourists alike.Several local breweries and many excellent restaurants, specialising in local cuisine, can be found all over the city centre. Trondheim, formerly called Nidaros, was Norway’s capital from 1030 to 1217. The city has played a key role in Norway’s history, and Nidaros Cathedral has been a popular pilgrimage site for nearly 1,000 years.

GETTING HERE

Situated in the middle of Norway, Trondheim can easily be reached by air, train, bus or car.

Trondheim airport, in Vaernes, has direct flights to virtually every airport in Norway, and more than 20 daily arrivals from the capital, Oslo. The airport express bus services take you to Trondheim in 35 minutes, with a departure after every flight lands.

Every year the Hurtigruten takes hundreds of thousands of passengers on boat trips along the Norwegian coast, and the boats arrive daily at Trondheim harbour.

As president of the Football Association of Norway (NFF), it is an honour for me to welcome the two teams, UEFA and you all to my hometown, the beautiful city of Trondheim. The city of Trondheim, Rosenborg and the NFF have all worked hard to make this UEFA Super Cup a great event for all involved. We hope you enjoy your stay here. As well as hosting the UEFA Super Cup, we are celebrating Rosenborg’s first hundred years as a club. Rosenborg has a great history in both Norwegian and European football, having won more than 20 national championships and played ten seasons in the UEFA Champions League, even reaching the quarter-finals in 1996/97. In the spirit of fair play both on and off the pitch, we are all looking forward to an exciting and spectacular football match between two of the best clubs in Europe.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE STADIUM

Lerkendal Stadion

• The only authorised way to purchase tickets is through UEFA.com. Tickets are not available for sale at the stadium and there is no way to access the stadium without a ticket. If you do not have a ticket in your possession, do not come to the stadium!

• Supporters are advised to keep their tickets in a secure place where they cannot be stolen. In the event of a ticket being lost, no replacement will be issued.

• Please note that spectators will only be allowed to enter the stadium upon presentation of a valid ticket for each person, regardless of age. Parents take full responsibility for children attending the match.

• All instructions from stewards and police must be followed.• There are no parking spaces available around the stadium.

We recommend that you use public transport.• It is important that all spectators follow the signage

directing them to the gate and entrance printed on their match tickets.

• Spectators and their belongings will be screened by stewards at the stadium’s security perimeters. A list of prohibited items and the stadium rules will be posted outside the stadium.

• Carrying fireworks, drinks, weapons, laser pointers, sound-emitting devices such as megaphones, klaxons or vuvuzelas, large objects (suitcases, helmets, etc.) or any other items that are on the prohibited items list or could disrupt public order is forbidden.

Opening

• All spectators should arrive at the stadium as early as possible. The stadium will open at 17:45 and kick-off will be at 20:45 (local time).

Disabled facilities and access

• Access for disabled people is mainly through gate 7, via lifts from street level to the stadium. The lifts are stewarded and are for the use of disabled fans only.

HOW TO GET TO THE STADIUM

From Torget Square (Real Madrid fan meeting point)Walking takes approximately 28 minutes (the route is 2.3km). Route: from Kongens Gate, turn left and follow Prinsens Gate over the bridge (Elgeseter Bru). Continue along Elgeseter Gate and then Holtermanns Veg until you meet Strindvegen. Turn left and you are at the stadium.Bus: numbers 4, 6, 9 and 66 from Prinsens Gate to Professor Brochs Gate.

From Solsiden Square (Sevilla fan meeting point)Walking takes approximately 38 minutes (the route is 3.1km).Route: from Beddingen, turn right and follow Innherredsveien until you meet the roundabout. Go along Nedre Bakklandet, then Ovre Bakklandet, then Vollabakken and then Klæbuveien until you meet Strindvegen. Turn left and you are at the stadium. Bus: numbers 4 and 6 from Solsiden Square to Professor Brochs Gate.

SUPPORTER BUS PARKING

Bus parking areas have been organised for supporters arriving by charter flight (P11 for Real Madrid CF and University parking for Sevilla FC). Supporters will be dropped off in and picked up from the parking areas.Fans are requested to return to their respective parking area after the match. Buses will leave according to flight schedules.

SUPPORTERS TRAVELLING ON COMMERCIAL FLIGHTS TO TRONDHEIM AIRPORT

There are several ways to get to Trondheim city centre. The airport bus service serves all hotels in Trondheim city centre. It costs NOK 140 (around €15). Travel time is 35 to 40 minutes. Trains go every hour from Trondheim airport to Trondheim S, the central station. They cost NOK 79 (around €9). Travel time is 38 minutes. Taxis cost approximately NOK 600 (around €65) and can take four passengers. Travel time is 28 minutes.

MATCHDAY FAN MEETING POINTS

On the day of the UEFA Super Cup there are two separate fan meeting points, one for each team. Both are in the city centre, within walking distance of Lerkendal Stadion. The meeting point for Real Madrid fans is Torget Square. The meeting point for Sevilla fans is Solsiden Square.

These fan meeting points are in areas with bars, restaurants and shops. Both fan meeting points will open at 12:00. From 16:00 to 18:00 there will be live music.
