One of the most exciting future herd sire prospects ever created in theStowers program. He is a son of SAV Harvestor and from the past nationalchampion purebred female ELCX Twilight 114X. He ranks in the top 10% of thebreed for weaning weight, top 2% of the breed for yearling weight and carcassweight and top 15% of the breed for TM, MB and $MTI. He scanned an 18.7 forREA and 4.3 for IMF balancing that with an 81 lb. birth weight, 840 lbs. weaning weight and 1,480 lbs. yearling weight. This is one big time herd sireprospect in the making.
Owned with Lonely Valley Limousin, Creston, NE LSTO Best Effort 4833B is the result of blending some of the best genetics
and is one of the finest ever created by Stowers Limousin. This 50% Lim-Flex herd sire prospect has all the best stacked in his favor. This son of EXAR Upshot0562B is from the $53,000 half interest valued donor SBLX Xtra Special, who was crowned grand champion at Houston. Best Effort posts a 2.0 for BW, 70 for weaning weight, 119 for yearling and 27 for milk. He ranks in the top 10% of the breed in YW, SC, $MTI and REA with a .84. His extreme thickness, heavy bone work and massive foot size will be an ideal solution formany folks looking for the next great 50% Lim-Flex herd sire.

LIMOUSIN NEWS & NOTES
Fellow Members & Friends,
The New Year is here and with it comes many opportunities for Limousin breeders beginning with the National Western (which will be underway by the time this issue goes to press) and followed by an equally important slate of activities during Limousin week at the Fort Worth Stock Show. The Cowtown Classic offers TLA members the opportunity to market their products in a state-of-the-art facility and to a diverse audience. Likewise, breeders have an opportunity to acquire genetics that will add value to their respective programs. The Medal of Excellence Level I Limousin show affords breeders the opportunity to showcase their programs, as well as help with future mating decisions based on the visual appraisal of the cattle on display. The TLA’s annual membership meeting and banquet allows members the opportunity to hear what is new in their association and have a voice in its direction. The banquet presents the opportunity to visit with old friends and make new ones. The thing about opportunity, it only produces results if you act on it.
The beginning of the New Year also means it is time to renew your TLA membership. Membership matters, you matter, and we value your commitment. This year marks 12 years that I have had the honor to serve as your executive secretary, and I thank each of you who has supported the association in the good times and the bad. I believe the best is yet to come. I hope to see you all in Fort Worth.
Sincerely, RalphRalph Hawkins
