About The Sacramento Taco Festival!! WHAT IS A TACO FESTIVAL? That is a common question we get and it isnʼt until folks attend one that they tell us, WE GET IT! It is a fun-filled day that includes professional wrestling, live entertainment, a mechanical bull, eating contests and a Chihuahua Beauty Contest, and of course, the largest selection of tacos in one location. ! From enjoying the hundreds of kids who boo the heels and cheer the good guys at the professional wrestling matches, to the thousands who enjoy a tasty taco, the Taco Festival is for everyone!! The East Bay Taco Festival is planned for Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Berkeleyʼs beautiful Cesar Chavez Park, the same park where tens of thousands gather to fly some of

the most unique kites. It is also a great location to soke in the breath-taking sites of the East Bay and the city of San Francisco across the Bay.

The Goal of The Sacramento Taco Festival

! Our Goal through the Sacramento Taco Festival is to create a strong economic infusion for this region, and that is why we are working with City Councilmember and Vice Mayor Allen W. Warren, to make The Sacramento Taco Festival a success.!

! “Del Paso Boulevard remains true to its origins of a small community, but what we need are more merchants and entrepreneurs to come and see the potential that is offered by the Boulevard. Through the Sacramento Taco Festival, we hope to bring people who have never been here and see the potential offered by this great Boulevard.” - District 2 City Councilmember Allen W. Warren.

The Sacramento Taco Festival Events:!! The Sacramento Taco Festival is a great opportunity to showcase local arts/crafts, entertainment, businesses, and culture, but more importantly, it brings our diverse communities together. To ensure a successful and pleasurable event, the following activities have been incorporated into this one-day event:

•Street closures to ensure the safe and fun event;

•Childrenʼs Activities that includes face painting, clowns, and other age-related activities;

•Vendor Booths featuring arts, crafts, and information;

•Live entertainment featuring youth and professional performers/singers/dancers;

• A Chihuahua Beauty Pageant featuring celebrity judges and some of the most beautiful chihuahua dogs;

• Sombrero Fantastico contest, selecting the best and most creative sombreros;

• Taco Eating Contests including the most tacos eaten in one minute and the mystery meat tacos;

• Lucha Libre Wrestling exhibition featuring some of the Sacramento regionʼs most talented wrestlers;

• Audience Best Tacos as voted by those in attendance; and,

• A variety of Tacos, corn and deserts from local vendors and food trucks.
