Flowers of the SunIn the summer we have multiple flowers in their highest season here in Hungary, such as lisianthus, alstromeria and of course all different types of roses. A few tips to ensure that your cut flowers remain fresh as long as possible:

– Cut back stems before placing the flowers in a vase– Fill the vase up with water as high as possible– Change their water daily

For people who enjoy gardening, we recommend lavender, cute daisies, and of course the always favorite bush roses. The best time for their planting is until mid June, and taking care of them is easy:

This year, we have introduced a new section dedicated to the em-blematic signature products of our shopping centre. Each store has a product, service or collection that lends its character and uniqueness. MOM Park Galéria draws attention to important social issues and challeng-es, showcasing them to a wide audience. The new initiative was introduced last year, and the exhibit and fundraising program hosted in conjunction with the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design to support the Togeth-er for Children with Cancer Foundation was a resounding success, which prompted us to continue the series this year as well.

Hand in hand with the NIOK Foundation, we are stressing the importance of charity on account of the personal income tax return filing day in May: from 1 May, MOM Park Lounge will host various foundations working for different causes to remind taxpayers of the 1+1% personal income tax do-nation for the organisation of their choice. The aim is to foster charity and assistance as part of our daily lives, and May is the only time during the year when people can help simply by making a decision. The causes displayed on the shopping centre’s walls in the Lounge area for nearly one month include an animal shelter, a contemporary art workshop, foundations for the homeless or for children, for example Őrzők Foundation and Hungar-ian Rett Syndrome Foundation. The Őrzők Foundation, one of the latter, has beensupporting the Tűzoltó Utca Children’s Clinic for more than 25 years. Their main objective is to create and maintain adequate healthcare conditions for children, to provide state-of-the-art treatment and diagnos-tic procedures, to offer continuous professional development for medical staff and to foster effective rehabilitation for children. The Hungarian Rett Syndrome Foundation fights against a rare illness affecting little girls. They work with therapies and developing programs to minimize the symptoms and ease the lives of the affected families.

Culinary tips The Bagatellini stacked spiral pastry, the star of breakfast

Bagatellini’s most popular product has been the stacked spiral pastry for years. Master pastry chef László Csák was inspired by the hedonistic motive of adding even more filling to the traditional spiral pastry. The sweet product, made of pate feuilletée, is using the best ingredients with no additives, fresh from the oven every day. The flavour variations change from time to time, this spring our new favourite is walnut-coconut but the traditional chocolate version has become the Signature classic.Start the day off by treating yourself with a cappuccino and stacked spiral pastry at MOM Park’s Bagatellini.

Wasabi: Organic quinoa for your healthWasabi has expanded its offering of healthy options with super foods prepared with quinoa. Quinoa was already consumed by the Inca and was referred to as the „mother of all grains” due to its nutritious and healing properties, coupled with the fact that it is gluten-free and rich in protein. Thanks to these proper-ties, it has become one of the core ingredients of calorie conscious and vegan diets.Try our salads, sushi and other specialties made with organic quinoa. Look for these in the Wasabi Running Sushi and Wok Restaurant in MOM Park, find them on the conveyor belt of running sushi service or order them from the comfort of your home.

Ingredients:For the dough: 175 g crushed biscuits; 100 g butter; 50 g ground walnuts; 50 g granulated sugarCombine the ingredients with fingers, then press and compact the crust into a spring form cake pan.For the filling: 600 g plain cream cheese; 300 g sour cream; 250 g granulated sugar; 50 g starch; 5 eggsWhisk together the ingredients with the exception of the egg, then add the egg, mixed separately, to the cream. Place two thinly sliced pears on top of this crumb- based dough, then pour the filling on top and bake for 50 minutes at 170 Celsius.

Serving suggestions:Make a caramel sauce from sugar and dairy-based heavy cream. Drizzle the caramel on the plate, place a slice of cake on top, and sprinkle with cashews and powdered sugar.

Easy to make, sweet and creamy, French cheesecake is becoming increasingly pop-ular and is the perfect choice for any occasion. One of Paulaner’s star desserts, you can now make the cheesecake at home based on this recipe, which features a har-monious combination of soft cream cheese paired with pears and cashews.

Lean back comfortably and as your friends arrive continue your relaxing evening with a fine dinner. Our recommendation is this season’s specialty: duck breast salad with pear marinated in hibiscus, and bestrewed with cranberry. Not only will the flavor match the season, but it will also fasci-nate you with its colours!

Wash the chicken breasts thoroughly and then dry them. Add all of the ingredients, except for the roughly milled sea salt and the butter, to a food processor and process until creamy. Season and add pepper to the chicken breast, and cover with the cream. Sous vide the chicken breasts indi-vidually. Soften in a sous vide bath at 65 °C for 6 hours. When done, open the packets and fry the chicken breasts in a skillet with the skin side facing down, then flip them over and keep them in the skillet until serving time. Pour the remaining marinade in a small pan and boil with the butter until creamy; then pass through a sieve. Serve by pouring the sauce on the plate, placing the cooked chicken breast on top and sprinkling with coarse sea salt. If you do not have a sous vide bath, cook in a pan covered with a lid in a small amount of chicken broth at 160 °C for 2 hours, then proceed in the same manner.

As the time of the year approaches when we like to enjoy the beach, it’s time for us to get both physically and mentally in shapeMany of us make the mistake of overdoing our exercise and straining our joints as the first rays of sunlight bring us motivation. This is why it is essential to work up progressively to the desired level of fitness without straining our bodies.

We recommend starting just with a basic aerobics, body shaping or spinning class and staying away from cross training or advanced TRX to prevent overexerting yourself. For fans of slower paced exercise, we recommend BodyArt classes. Try a variety of classes to find out what you like best. Proper nutrition is essential alongside every type of exercise, based on a diet rich in fruits and vegetables during the spring and summer season.

The risks of sports injuries

People tend to underestimate injuries sustained from overexertion during exercise, however if the injury does not improve using home remedies and the pain is present on a daily basis, it is important to seek medical attention.

Surveys reveal that sprains, muscle tears and strains and bruises account for the vast majority, 70-80% of sports injuries. They often occur because we overexert ourselves while our muscles are still not strong enough, or due to the absence of properly warming up.

Vitalising spring vitamin bombs Nice weather is not only good for our mood; it also strength-ens viruses. During this time of the year, it is essential to eat a varied diet rich in vitamins and minerals to bolster our im-mune system.

Eat a lot of seasonal fruits and vegetables, many of which can be consumed raw, or try a smoothie as an alternative; these can be prepared simply with a blender and a bit of imagination in terms of the ingredient and flavour combinations.

Try a real energy smoothie by blending bananas, strawberries, oatmeal and Chia seeds, optionally adding a spoon of peanut but-ter, and you will no doubt be satiated.
