2016 Registration Form 2016 Summer Conservatory Sessions Through the mounting of a full scale musical production, campers will study acting, singing, and dancing. They will also work on various theatre skills from improvisation to character study. Campers will participate in an audition master class to prepare for the show audition and beyond. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to acquire a solid foundation in theatre and build self confidence in a fun and safe environment with a staff who are professionals in both the field of teaching and performance. *(Please note Due to circumstances beyond our control, camp location may be moved to a different Howard County school. The only way for the Beast to become human once again is if he learns to love and be loved in return. Since founding K.I.D.S., Ms. Brouillet has produced a wide variety of shows including The Music Man, Annie, Charlie Brown, JosephDreamcoat, Footloose, Oklahoma!, High School Musical, The Wizard of OZ, and Bye Bye Birdie. She will serve as camp director. Kurt Boehm, (Director/Choreographer), most recently served as choreographer and director for Footloose, Zombie Prom, Bye Bye Birdie, Urinetown, Grease & JosephDreamcoat for Teen K.I.D.S. Summer Conservatory. He also has taught at Columbia Center for Theatrical Arts, Creative Artists Institute, and Creative Cauldron. Mr. Boehm recently choreographed The Keegan Theatres production of Rent and Sprin g Awakening. Mr. Boehm has performed at the Kennedy Center, Signature Theatre, Arena Stage, Fords Theatre, Adventure Theatre, Olney Theatre, Theatre of The First Amendment and Tobys Dinner Theatre. Mr. Boehm graduated from The Catholic University of America, Bachelors in Music with a concentration in Musical Theatre. Kathryn Carlsen, (Director) will be co-directing the Teen K.I.D.S. production. Most recently, she co-directed Footloose, Zombie Prom, Grease, Bye Bye Birdie and Urinetown with Teen K.I.D.S. For the past 11 years, she has been the theatre teacher at Centennial High School. She is also the Education Director for the Baltimore Improv Group. She has worked as a camp director and counselor at Slayton House Camp of the Arts. Ms. Carlsen has performed at the Studio Theatre, Creative Alliance, Theatre Project, and Everyman Theatre. She received her bachelors degree from UMCP in Theatre and English Education and her masters degree in Theatre Management from Brooklyn College. Cedric D. Lyles (Music Director ) is currently the Executive Director and Resident Music Director for Arts Centric (a Baltimore theatre company). He is the Upper School Music Director at Garrison Forest School. As a music director, his focus is on aiding the story-telling through the music. His approach encourages actors to examine the text and make musical choices that support the story; even down to a simple breath. Mr. Lyles has an extensive background teaching vocal music and musical theatre. He has served several churches and theatres as musical director and is an alum of Morgan State University and American University.
