BONEZONE is owned and produced by
ORTHOWORLD®, a specialty publishing firm
solely focused on the global orthopaedic market.
Founded in 1992 by orthopaedic industry executives,
ORTHOWORLD’s early days were spent fulfilling
requests for market intelligence and merger and
acquisition assistance. This experience provided a
unique, high-level, strategically-oriented foundation
and rapport upon which BONEZONE was conceived.
In direct response to sourcing and manufacturing
challenges voiced by orthopaedic device company
professionals, BONEZONE launched in the fall of 2002
to an engaged readership of R&D engineers, supply
chain managers and procurement professionals.
By 2012, readership expanded to include executive
management and quality/regulatory/clinical affairs
professionals, with the interests of marketing folks
beginning to pique under pressures from UDI
initiatives and design for manufacturability mandates.
In addition to readership diversity, the print magazine
is now accompanied by a tablet-friendly ePub,
monthly eNewsletters, a robust website and, since
June 2005, OMTEC, the “live” version of all of the
BONEZONE counterparts.
Orthopaedic device commercialization is no
longer a topic for a select audience. It is, perhaps,
the most pressing issue facing the industry,
second only to patient outcomes. Clinical
outcomes data, unique device identification
(UDI), FDA warning letters, testing, inventory
management, reimbursement, price pressures;
these topics only scratch the surface of
“commercialization.” BONEZONE addresses these
important subjects by giving its readers a fresh
perspective, new information and connections to
fuel progress. BONEZONE tackles complex issues,
translating them into articles that readers can
absorb and translate into action items.
