Matthews had a great year. One of the best scorer in the NLA, all star team at the WJC and represented the USA at the WC. Amazing skater, changes of directions quickly. Great acceleration. So smart, makes players around him better and likes to slow the pace of the game. Creative with the puck, he has gifted hands. Has a hard shot and a quick release. Matthews has some grit to his game and also, he's willing to go in dirty areas. He protects the puck well and has the ability to win space. Needs to add strength to be more effective at the NHL level and, also, has to be more consistent shift after shift and game after game.

Laine had an amazing year. All-star team at the u20 and MVP of both Liga playoffs and WC. He might very well challenge Auston Matthews for the #1 spot. Physicaly mature. Intimidating size for his opponents. Powerful skater, good acceleration and so strong on his skates. Creative with the puck, great skills and high confidence in his abilities. Elite vision to combine with a bomb of a shot. Dangerous one timer and big time scoring touch. Big presence along the boards, protects the puck very well. Has some grit and nastiness to his game, likes the physical play. Try too much by himself at times. Needs to control his emotions better.

Puljujarvi won almost everything this season. Gold at u20 and u18, plus MVP honors at the WJC. He also had a very good season in Finland, scoring at more than a 0,5 point per game pace.Pro frame. Very good skater for his size. Can fly on the ice. Great strides and acceleration. Smart, sees the ice well and has great anticipation. Very good vision and playmaking abilities. Creative player with soft hands. Strong shot. So responsible defensively, always first to backcheck. Plays with an edge, tough to beat in 1 vs 1. He's the kind of player who wants to make a difference. However, he could use his size to be more involved in physical situations. I see him as a center at the next level

Everytime I saw Juolevi play, he impressed me more and more each time. He was the defensive leader of both the Memorial cup winning team and the World Juinior Champions.Ultra mobile two-way defender. Moves incredibly well out there, he's a fluid and effortless skater. Really smart, his hockey IQ is something special. He sees the ice well and makes a strong first pass. He's patient with the puck and can quarter back a PP thanks to his quick mind. Likes to join the rush and distibutes the puck well. He's got quick hands and doesn't need much time to execute a play. Unless he's very good offensively, his defensive awareness is also very good.He lacks upper-body strength. He'll need to become stronger in order to be more effective at the next level He maintains control of the puck too long at times and it often causes turnovers.

It was Dubois's breakout year this year. He was invited to Canada's world junior camp and put up great numbers in the Q, alongside Detroit's first rounder Evgeny Svechnikov. He's a big powerful winger who can also play center. He's a powerful skater but needs to improve his quickness and footwork. Eric's son has soft hands to combine with a great vision, elite playmaking abilities and an accurate wrist shot. He battles hard and is willing to go in dirty areas, like the front of the net, where he scores most of his goals. Defensively, he's really mature and reliable, thanks to his amazing reading of the play and anticipation. He plays with a lot of character and has top 6 potential at the NHL level.

Tkachuk enjoyed a season to remember this year, playing alongside CHL stars Mitch Marner and Christian Dvorak. He scored the championship winning goal at the Memorial Cup.Big powerful winger. Effective complementary player. Very good acceleration and strong on his skates. Pretty smart, he's a very good passer and sees the ice well. Versatile player, can shoot the puck but he's also a good playmaker. He's got a hard shot and releases it quickly. Big presence along the boards and in front of the net. Plays a gritty physical game. Protects the puck very well, uses his size and strength to win battles. Hard competitor with great work-ethic. Like his father, Keith's son likes to get his opponents off their game, by chirping them consistently.Must improve agility and quickness and needs to control his emotions better in key moments, as he often take unnecessary penalties.

Keller's bright talent shined all season long in Plymouth, Michigan, with USA's U18 team. He was exceptional and beat the franchise's mark for assists in a season, with 70.Diminutive offensive dynamo. Super skilled creative player. Great speed, quick change of directions. He's able to get through everyone on the ice due to his quickness. So smart. Amazing passer. Makes players around him better. and he's really patient with the puck. Has the impressive ability to win time and space with the puck. Accurate shot. Dangerous in scoring areas. Can play PP and also PK. Competes hard, not afraid to go in the corners.Needs to become stronger, competes hard but loses most of his puck battles anyway. Seems to become invisible at times against bigger guys.

Brown improved his game throughout the season and he ended that journey with a tremendous performance at the U18, for team USA.Offensive dynamo with big frame. Pretty good skater for a big guy. Very good acceleration and explosivness. He's got soft hands, particularly in tight areas, and he's creative with the puck. Awesome vision and hockey sense. Exceptional anticipation and playmaking skills. Strong shot, but doesn't use it often. Good defensive awareness. Protects the puck very well and he's tough to beat in one on one along the boards.Big kid, but needs to add muscle. Good skater, but needs to become quicker and improve his footwork and stamina. Has to show more passion and commitment shift after shift.

He was named OHL's defenceman of the year, before heading to Grand Forks to play a leader rle on a young russian squad.Big skilled defender. Very good skater, great mobility and off the charts acceleration. Poised with the puck, great mind. Elite offensive sense, joins the rush well and likes to carry the puck into the zone. Strong first pass, moves the puck up ice quickly and effectively. Hard shot. High hockey IQ. Can be a PP QB. Good defensive positioning, he's steady and reliable in his zone. Good stick use. Plays with an edge, has a physical presence to his game. Could see more urgency in his game. Also needs to be more consistent game after game.

Jost was amazing in the BCHL this year, putting up 104 points in 48 games, but he really proved his value at the WJAC and U18, where he was arguably Canada's top player.Elite offensive center. Jost is a really quick skater. Always moves his feet and he's really tough to stop when he's at top speed. So smart, he has an awesome vision and playmaking skills. So patient, creative and under control with the puck. He's resilient, never gives up on a play. Born leader and competitor. Great defensive awareness. He back checks hard, gets PK time and does a great job. Proved he's a clutch player. Nylander was excellent in his first year overseas. He's been named CHL's rookie of the year and completed the journey with a silver medal at the u18.Impact player. So quick. Speed and quickness are exceptional. He changes of speed nicely and has great acceleration. Soft hands, great variety of moves. Controls the puck very well at top speed. Quick mind. Recognize when there's an opportunity. Elite vision and anticipation. Good passer, makes players around him better. Always dangerous when he's got the puck. Competes hard, never gives up on a play and wants the puck on his stick.Needs to add strength, in order to become stronger and win more puck battles. Has to avoid lazy, high-risk plays.

Chychrun had a rough draft year. Considered by many at the beginning of the season as the second best player in the draft, he had trouble finding consistency in his game all season long. He's a steady smooth skating two-way defender with great mobility. His acceleration is top notch. He plays with a lot of poise and makes a strong first pass. He plays with an edge which helps him carrying the puck on the rush. He's steady in his zone and uses his stick effectively. Jeff's son plays the body very well and his gap control is excellent. He has to take better decisions under pressure and seems to over handle the puck at times. He also tends to be over agressive and inconsistent during games. He projects to be a second pairing guy at the next level.

Playing in his hometown of Calgary, Bean opened the eyes of many this year, using his great mind usefully alongside CHL star Travis Sanheim.Bean is a diminutive offensive defender. Good skater, he moves pretty well out there. Mostly needs to improve his explosiveness. Has soft hands and he's really smart with the puck on his stick. Makes strong and accurate passes and he's deadly on the PP because he sees the ice so well. High hockey IQ and strong shot also. Uses his stick very well in his zone to cut passing lanes, which makes up for his lack of strength. Needs to get stronger obviously, as he loses most of his puck battles. Also, he has to avoid risky plays and be less agressive at times. Needs to show more passion and drive in his game on a constant basis.

The Boston University freshman played a major role on this young defensive squad. He improved his defensive play throughout the season and was very effective with team USA at the World juniors.Smooth-skating defender with great offensive instinct. Strong 1st pass, really smart and effective on the PP. Quick lateral movements, he moves well on the blue line. Sees the ice well and likes to join the rush. Good in transition play. And really poised with the puck. Hard shot and soft hands. Battles hard along the boards and he's tough to beat in 1 vs 1. Protects the puck well thanks to his long reach. Has a good gap control and uses his stick effectively. Has to avoid being over-confident with the puck and making bad turnovers. Must be steadier and more consistent in his zone.

He silenced the critics with a great u18 tournament for team Canada, where he was the best defender on the team.Effortless skater. So fluid out there. Soft hands and calm under pressure. Great poise with the puck, likes to slow the pace of the game. Good passer and excellent reading of the play. Moves the puck up ice quickly and effectively. Doesn't take chances, makes safe plays. Fabbro is reliable in all three zones. He uses his stick well and controls his gap like a pro. He uses his body well to separate opponents from the puck.Doesn't have big weaknesses. Needs to gain strength and we must feel more urgency in his game, also. Has to improve his release from the point, as it is often blocked or simply doesn't hit the net.

Rubtsov had a roller coaster year. He started strong and was exceptional at the WJAC, but then he struggled after the holidays back in the MHL. After that, there's been the doping scandal that prevented him from participating in the u18 tournament.Powerful two-way center. Great acceleration and strong on his skates. Really smart. He reads the play well and he's a good playmaker. He combines his great with soft hands. His defensive awareness is great and he's ver effective on the PK. Controls the puck well in tight areas and has the ability to win space. He releases his shot quickly and he's got a nice goal scoring instinct, though he's a playmaker at first. Not a typical Russian player; blocks shots, backchecks hard and he's wlling to play physical.Needs to move his feet more and tends to try high risk plays in dangerous areas. Must also show more passion and drive on the ice on a more constant basis.

Kunin was flying under the radar this year, playing on a weak team in Wisconsin. However, he did great for a freshman and confirmed his first round status.Really well-rounded, complete player. Can do a lot of things on the ice. Above average skater. Nice set of skills, has great ability to win space. NHL type of shot, quick release and very dangerous around the net. Nice scoring touch and good vision also. Sees the ice well. Good defensive positioning, can play in defensive situations. Some grit to his game, can play an agitator role, likes to disturb his opponents. Finishes his checks. Competes hard every shift.

Has to gain strength and improve his skating a little bit. He's good at everything, but he stands out in nothing.

Gauthier's draft stock dropped all season long. Some had concerns about his dedication, while others were questioning his hockey sense.Big winger with high end acceleration. Unbelievable skater for his size. So explosive down the rush. He's got soft hands and a very good wrist shot. Pure goal scorer would be a good qualifier for him. He's really dangerous around the net and doesn't need much time and space to score. He's got that great ability to win space and protects the puck very well with his big frame. He's also willing to play physical, but has to do it on a more constant basis.Needs to show more consistency shift after shift, in addition of showing more passion and drive in his game. He's more a goal scorer than a playmaker and I have some concerns about his hockey sense and decision making.

Howden had a pretty good season in Moose Jaw, playing behind top forward Brayden Point. He proved his offensive potential at the u18, putting up 8 points, including 6 goals, in only 6 games. He's a bread and butter player. Does all good, but nothing great. Above average skater, strong on his skates, but he lacks quickness a bit. Good puck skills, but not high end. Really smart, reads the play and sees the ice very well, which is his main asset. He's also a good passer. Good release and scoring instinct, dangerous around the net. Excellent defensive instinct. Plays with an edge and protects the puck very well. Howden's a born leader. He competes hard every shift. He needs to add strength to his frame, in order to become more comfortable physically.

No one's draft stock rose more than Stanley's this year. His 6'7 and 224 lbs certainly helped, but also improved his skating and puck skills a lot.

Huge dman. Long reach and great physical tools. Makes simple and effective plays with the puck. He's really calm under pressure. He's a big strong presence in 1 on 1 battles and uses his size effectively to clear the front od the net. Also has some grit to his game and he's willing to play physical. Moves pretty well for a guy his size. His offensive potential is limited, but he likes to join the rush and contribute at the other end at times. He needs to improve his footwork and mobility. He's often caught out of position because he's not quick enough.

Tufte was just too strong for the USHS this year, scoring at a more than 3 points per game pace. The transition to the USHL at the end of the season wasn't that easy, but he did pretty well in those circumstances.Big power forward. Elite skater for a big guy. Nice acceleration and explosiveness. Pretty smart. Mostly makes safe plays with the puck offensively. Has a good vision and playmaking skills. Soft hands. Hard shot and a quick release. Intimidating for the opposing defenders. Big presence in front of the net and in the corners. Protects the puck easily with his big body and he's tough to beat in 1 vs 1 battles.Has to show more passion and drive in his game and compete at a higher level shift after shift. Needs to use his big frame to play a more physical and nasty game. Has to improve his defensive awareness and his overall offensive game, to become a much more dynamic player.

Abramov's first year in North-America was amazing. In addition of being one of the league's top scorer, he won QMJHL's rookie of the year award. Undersized offensive catalysist. Speedy left winger. He changes of directions and makes space for himself so easily. He's got soft hands and controls the puck very well in tight areas. His vision and playmaking abilities are elite and he makes players around him better. He competes hard and isn't afraid of bigger guys.Obviously, he has to become stronger, because he's often outmuscle along the boards. He also needs to improve his defensive awareness, as he often seems lost in his own end.

Thompson enjoyed a pretty good freshman year with Uconn. He was dominant on the power play and improved his defensive play.Big strong guy with an edge. Good skater for a big men. Soft hands. Strong wrist shot and one timer. Dangerous in front of the net, particularly on the PP, where he scores most of his goals. Great goal scoring instinct. Protects the puck very well and he's tough to beat in 1 vs 1 situations.Needs to use his size more to get into the physical play. He also has to show more commitment and passion in his game, on a constant basis.

Rasmus Asplund demonstrated his value at the WJC, where he was excellent for team Sweden, playing beside Alex Nylander.Asplund plays a mean two-way game. Quick skater, he changes of pace and directions quickly. Really smart, great poise with the puck. High Hockey IQ, thinks the game before everyone. Responsible player, effective at both ends of the ice. Hard competitor, plays bigger than his size, not afraid to go in dirty areas. Hard and accurate shot.Needs to get stronger and to improve his balance, in order to be steadier and more effective in puck battles. Also has to prove he can contribute more offensively against older players.

Cederholm caught my eye at the u18, where he was a strong defensive presence for team Sweden. He didn't record a single point, but was so reliable in all facets of the game.Big defensive defender. No flashes in his game, but gets the job done. Decent skater for his size. Great explosiveness. Makes simple and effective plays with the puck. Moves it up ice quickly. Defensively, he's reliable and steady. He plays the body well and his stick use helps him to be so efficient. He makes up his lack of speed by having a good gap control and staying on the defensive side of the puck. His hockey IQ is really good. He's a leader and a competitor. He needs to be more engaged offensively, along with developping his puck skills and filling his lack of quickness and footwork.

Ryan's brother was a big surprise for me this year. His high hockey sense and reliability impressed me everytime I saw him play.Steady two-way defenceman. Decent skater. Johansen's got a good Hockey IQ and makes smart and simple plays with the puck, doesn't over handle it. Moves the puck up ice quickly and effectively. He's also pretty steady defensively thanks to his great reading of the play and his long reach. His gap control is top notch and he's strong and effective in 1 on 1 battles. He tends to be over agressive at times and he's got average footwork and quickness. He needs time to develop his puck skills more and he has to bulk his frame to become stronger.

He added himself in the first round discussions at the u18 tournament, where he was arguably the best defender.Diminutive smooth-skating offensive defenceman. Moves the puck up ice very well and takes good decisions with the puck thanks to his great poise and quick mind. Competes hard along the boards despite his lack of size. Good use of his stick defensively and does a great job on the PK.Could improve his positioning and avoid trying too much when carrying th puck. He's too agressive at times and tends to stay too long in the offensive zone instead of getting back quckly. Has to get stronger in order to win more puck battles.

The St. Cloud State University committ was one of the best defender in the BCHL this year and led his team to the league's final.Tall but tiny defender. Amazing skater. So mobile and fluid out there. Moves incredibly well on the blue line. Soft hands. High end vision and anticipation of the play. Great poise with the puck. Makes strong and accurate passes and he's able to move the puck up ice quickly. Can be a PP quarterback thanks to his great poise. Also, he possesses a hard shot from the point. Needs to add strength because he doesn't win a lot of puck battles. Also, he has to be steadier defensively, by using his body more and controlling his gap more effectively.

Niemelainen started the year strong, but struggled to maintain his pace in his first year in North-America. He came back strong at the u18, where he won a gold medal with team Finland.Big rangy defender with a long reach. Skates extremely well for a guy that size. Really explosive. Very smart on the ice. Moves the puck up ice well and has a strong first pass. Excellent vision and anticipation. He's got a strong shot also. Reliable in all three zones. Uses his body and his stick very well to hold in the opponents. Plays with an edge, has great ability to win space. Not really physical, could use his big body more to punish his opponents. Also, he needs to show more urgency and passion in his game, along with being more hungry out there. Must improve his skills with the puck too.

Dineen impressed me from the start to the end. His great mind and offensive ability made him one of the best D in the OHL.Undersized offensive minded defenceman. Really mobile and fluid on the ice. Gifted puck skills. So smart and poised with the puck. Awesome vision and strong first pass. Doesn't hesitate to join the rush. Great creativity in the offensive zone. So effective on the PP, moves the puck well and can get a shot off quickly.Needs to add strength if he wants to be effective at the next level. Often outmuscle in 1 vs 1 battles. Has to control his gap better and improve his defensive play, as he's often out of position and over agressive.

Hajek struggled to adapt to the play in North America. He played on a poor team in Saskatoon, which didn't help. He impressed me and was reliable everytime I saw him play.Very smart two-way dman. Moves the puck up ice quickly and effectively. Good poise, gap control and defensive positioning. Reliable, takes good decisions with and without the puck. Almost never out of position. He's a good PP quarterback, thanks to his quick mind and calm. Makes simple plays with the puck and rarely makes mistakes. Active stick in 1 vs 1 battles.Has to improve his mobility and footwork in addition to being more involved offensively and join the rush more. Below average point shot.

Girard showed the range of his bright offensive talent this year in Shawinigan, winning the title of QMJHL's defenceman of the year on the way. A flashy diminutive smooth skating defenceman with elite mobility. Great skating agility and quickness. Changes of directions quickly and he's able to avoid hits easily. He's really smart, poised with the puck and calm under pressure. Great offensive sense, can quarterback a PP with his elite vision and soft hands. Girard lacks strength and he's often outmuscle in 1 on 1 battles. He must become steadier defensively and have a better gap control. Makes risky and unnecessary plays with the puck at times, which is something he has to improve.

Debrincat is a pure goal scorer. He was Connor McDavid's target last year Dylan Strome's this season, so he can definitely play with good players.Diminutive offensive catalysist. Good skater with nice hands. Very dangerous in scoring areas. He's that kind of player you can't let alone in front of the net. He's smart and good to find open space in the offensive zone. Plays bigger than his size, he's willing to play physical and has a great work-ethic.Small player, sometimes outweigh in 1 vs 1. Has to be steadier defensively and needs to avoid risky plays with the puck in dangerous areas.

Bastian played alongside fellow draft-eligible players Michael McLeod and Alex Nylander all year long. He was a very useful complementary player for these two offensive players. He's a big physical winger willing to go in dirty areas. He's a good puck protector and wins most of his puck battles. He competes hard and goes to the net. He's an average skater and needs to improve his quickness. Bastian is a long-term project and will need time to polish his skillset.

Steel's draft stock dropped this year, but he didn't have a bad season at all. He had a more than decent regular season and very good playoffs. He's a speedy centerman and changes of directions quickly. Great vision and high hockey IQ. Good passer. He's really smart with the puck. So responsible. He gets back hard. His two-way game is great. Very good work ethic, he wants the puck badly and competes hard every shift. He's small but there's no big weaknesses in his game. He probably lacks of confidence in his abilities, which is why he doesn't put up big numbers. He needs to use his skills more and to hold the puck longer. Must also get stronger in order to win more puck battles.

Katchouk surprised many viewers this year. He wasn't ranked as a top prospect at the beginning of the year, but he exceeded the expectations all season long and he's now among discussions for the 1st round.Big frame, uses it very well. Explosive skater, but not really quick. He's strong on his skates, though. Nice set of hands. He's smart and reads the play well. Good passer also. Strong shot and a quick release. Has good offensive potential, but needs to find his consistency. Plays with an edge, protects the puck very well and he's tough to beat in 1 vs 1 along the boards.Has to be more consistent. He has all the tools to be an impact player, but doesn't always show up. Needs to show more passion on the ice.

Kuokkanen was flying under the radar all season long in Sweden, but when he came in Grand Forks for the u18 with Finland, he showed everyone why he deserves to hear his name soon at the draft in Buffalo.Two-way center with good size. Reliable in all aspects of the game. Very good skater. He's quick and explosive at the same time. Soft hands and control the puck very well at top speed. Really smart also. Sees the ice well and has a nice vision. Good passer. Quick and accurate release makes him dangerous in scoring areas. Defensively, he's steady and reliable. He competes hard in the corners and wants the puck badly. Has to become stronger and improve the physical aspect of his game.

Clague was projected to be a high first rounder at the beginning of the year, but slided due to a lack of consistency in his game.Diminutive puck-moving Dman with great mobility. Really quick skater. Moves well on the blue line. Makes a strong and effective first pass. Can be a PP quarterback, thanks to his great vision and reading of the play. Smart with and without the puck. Uses his stick very well defensively.Needs to gain strenght to win more puck battles. I also have some concerns about his defensive positioning. Also needs to play with more passion and commitment.

Laberge overachieved in Victoriaville this year, but really openned scouts' eyes at the CHL Top prospects game, where he collected not less than 2 goals and 1 assist.Pretty quick skater, though he's not really powerful. He's got soft hands and he's creative with the puck. He makes players around him better and his poise with the puck is sentational. Great ability to win space. Good release and he's dangerous in scoring areas. Good passer also.Has to compete more shift after shift and move his feet more. Often makes bad plays under pressure. Has to be smarter on the breakout, mostly in key moments of the game. Body language is a concern. Must also beocme stronger, as he's often beaten in battles along the boards.

Very good year by Mascherin in Kitchener. He completed an electric duo with Jeremy Bracco and proved everyone he's a prolific goal scorer.Small but heavy offensive dynamo. Average skater, really strong on his skates, changes of directions quickly. Soft hands, controls the puck well in tight areas. Shoot first guy, but can also pass the puck thanks to his elite vision and playmaking abilities. Deadly wrist shot. Strong and accurate. One of the best of the draft. He's so dangerous around the net. Competes hard, goes to dirty areas and wants the puck badly on his stick.Needs to improve his skating, mostly his footwork and acceleration. Has to improve his defensive awareness and also, to be a more consistent player game after game.

The undersized Dahlen had a very good year for Timra, in Sweden's second best league. He caught eye of scouts mostly in the relegation tournament, where he put up 6 goals in 5 games.Quick skater, not so powerful but really quick and speedy. Amazing puck skills. Pure scoring instinct, dangerous around the net. Creative and really entertaining with the puck. Good hockey sense, not great. Competes hard and isn't intimidated by bigger players.Has to be better defensively and needs to gain strength, though he plays bigger than his size.

Gustavsson's calm presence in front of the net caught my eye at the u18, where he was amazing for team Sweden and led them to the gold medal game.Good size goalie with good skills and athletic ability. Mostly Butterfly goalie but will make saves on his feet. He plays with poise, not overly active. Good patience. Holds his ground when necessary. Reads and reacts well. Handles the puck well. Good skills: catches well, good rebound control, good blocker. Showed good focus and concentration. Poor use of the poke check on a couple of occasions. Short game (plays originating from below the goal line) could be better. Down early and trouble finding the puck. Possible NHL goalie, with more development, could become a #1 goalie.-Phil Myre, ISS Hockey

Moverare played great for team Sweden at the u18. He doesn't catch you eye with blessing speed, but once you start looking more carefully to him, he impresses you with his elite hockey sense.Smart two-way defender. Big frame. Poised and calm with the puck. Moves the puck up ice quickly and effectively. Really good on the breakout and on the PP. Steady and reliable in his zone, blocks a lot of shots. Good defensive positioning, plays the body well and uses his stick effectively.Lacks of speed and absolutely needs to improve that aspect of his game quickly. His footwork and mobility are below average so he's often caught out of position.

Will Bitten wasn't in a good environment this year in Flint. He overcame these difficulties and had a very good season. He ended it with a strong showing at the u18, playing alongside Tyson Jost.Quick skater, always moves his feet. He's got nice hands and controls the puck well in tight. He's a pretty smart player. He reads the play well and makes good passes. He competes really hard. He's a diminutive but extremely hard working player. Bitten plays bigger than his size. He goes to the net and finishes his checks. He's undersized and lacks strentgh, which is why he's often outweigh in 1 on 1 battles along the boards.

James Greenway is a long-term project that needs time to develop. He has to find more consitstency and needs to show up every game, like he did at the u18, where he was sensational.Big rangy stay-at-home defender. Long reach. Pretty good skater for his size, though he certainly needs to improve his footwork. Cuts passing lanes well in his zone and uses his big frame to separates opponents from the puck effectively. Big physical presence. Intimidating for the other team. Pretty smart with the puck, makess safe and effective plays. Hard shot from the point.Limited offensive skills. Doesn't create much with the puck. Often turns the puck over due to his inability to handle the puck properly.

Frederic didn't have a stand out season offensively, but he improved his game all over the year and impressed me a lot at the u18, by his high compete level and character.Competitor. Average skater, but always moves his feet. Pretty good vision, finds his teammates well. Plays a simple game. Finishes his checks, goes to the net and put pucks behind the defenders. Competes hard every shift. He's big and strong. Very good in his zone and on the PK.He's not so gifted offensively and needs to improve his skating.

Playing behind a weak team, Fitzpatrick had some difficulties to find his consistency this year. Thankfully, he bounced back at the u18 where he was the starter for team Canada and played very well.Plays position well, conservative angles and square. Handles rebounds well. Good stick. Butterfly style, he has a very good power push and good lateral movements. Has good edges. Tracks the puck through traffic well, traps into the body well. Catches well. Average puck handler. Competitive, good reads and hockey sense. Has very good potential and a chance to be a #1 goalie in the NHL.-Phil Myre, ISS Hockey

Quenneville was flying under the radar in Medecine Hat, but once he joined Team Canada at the u18, he impressed many with his off the charts speed and quick mind.Ultra mobile undersized D. Effortless skater. Great control of the puck. So smart. Awesome vision and effective in the transition play. Very good puck carrier, does it with speed. Moves the puck well. Confident with the puck, likes to join the rush and does it very well. Can quarterback a PP thanks to his great mind. Plays bigger than his size, he's not afraid to be physical.Obviously, has to gain strength. Often outmuscle in 1 vs 1 along the boards. Needs to put some work on his defensive positioning and Dzone coverage as well.

Pu didn't get much PP time with the best junior team in Canada. Statistically speaking, he had a rough regular season and bounced back in the playoffs, but Cliff Pu's game is a lot more than just about stats.Pu is an energy player. Can play wing and center. Explosive skater with great acceleration and footwork. Smart, good vision and hockey sense. Good passer. Competes really hard. Always gives his 100%. Very good on PK. Forechecks hard, goes to the net and finishes his checks. Not so gifted offensively, but has room to improve. Now, he's a potential 3rd line forward, but if he improves his offensive game he could very well become a 2nd line center with blessed speed.

Morrison had an impressive season in Youngstown, before joining Team Canada at the u18 tournament.Very good size and long reach. Pretty quick skater for his size, strong acceleration and good strides. Big presence in front of the net and on the forecheck. Willing to go in dirty areas, battles hard in the corners. Likes to play physical.Needs more skating agility and has to backcheck harder. Limited vision and puck skills.

Benson had a nightmare draft year. He had multiple injuries and played only 30 games for the Vancouver Giants. Obviously, he had a lot of troubles finding consistency in his game. He's a big strong gritty winger. An above average skater with soft hands. Very good control of the puck in tight areas. Strong shot. He's smart with the puck, sees the ice really well and makes good passes. Checking forward, willing to play physical. Finishes his checks and battles hard in the corners. He protects the puck well. He's a leader and a competitor who never gives up on a play.He needs to improve his explosiveness, because he lacks power in his strides. Could also improve his defensive game, along with showing efforts in his play on a more constant basis.

Known as an offensive defenceman, Krys had troubles putting points on the board this year. Yet, scouts are still raving about his potential, because he's so fluid and smart on the ice.Diminutive smooth-skating defender. Can fly on the ice, quick lateral movements and moves well on the blue line. Smart, great puck distributor, strong first pass. Can be the QB on the PP thanks to his mobility and quick mind. Likes to join the rush and to carry the puck. Very good offensive instinct. Smart shooter.Sometimes he's over confident with the puck and creates many turnovers. Needs to become stronger in order to be more effective in 1 on 1 battles.

The captain of USA's national team development program had a decent season. His effective two-way game remained constant throughout the year.Smooth-skating two-way defender. Effortless skater. Really smart, makes smart and effective plays with the puck and moves it up ice quickly. Doesn't join the rush often, he stays more on the defensive side of the puck, but he has a pretty good offensive sense and reads the play well. His stick use is top notch and he controls his gap well. Has to get stronger in order to win more puck battles. Could improve the offensive side of his game as he doesn't create much offensively.

Kyrou had a pretty good season in Sarnia, playing alongside New Jersey's first round pick Pavel Zacha. He stepped up his game at the u18, where he put up 8 pointss in 7 games.Average size right winger with very good speed and offensive ability. Plays with energy. Seems to be at his best around the net and in short game plays. Dishes the puck off to teammates. Has very good quickness and speed and he changes of directions quickly. Very good hockey sense. Average shot. More of a passer and play maker. He will play in traffic areas but he's a dangerous open ice player. He competes and plays bigger than his size. Won't win or participate in many puck battles, needs to get stronger.-Phil Myre, ISS Hockey
