“Nothing without Joy!” Loris Malaguzzi
Join CCC’s Teachers for a summer of educational enrichment.
Our Reggio inspired “Creativity Camps” support learning in fun
and innovative ways. By interconnecting the arts and sciences,
students develop a thirst for knowledge while having a wonderful
time. Students may attend the entire summer school series, or select their favorite
weeks. No matter how you cut it, CCC is the perfect slice of summer fun!
Our Program
Founded in 1990, Creative Children’s Center has over 25 years experience in
elementary and preschool education. As the first constructivist school in Wash-
ington County, we understand that children learn best when they are fully en-
gaged in the learning process… the “Protagonists of their own learning”.
Our Approach
Each week our master teachers introduce BIG IDEAS as topics of investigation.
Our years of experience implementing the Reggio Approach has taught us that
inquiry supports knowledge, and that knowledge is built upon questions and re-
search. By balancing academics and open choice activities, students are self-
motivated and inspired by their love to learn. Our studios spaces support work
and play using a variety of mediums and materials. We offer a “100 languages”
with which to discover and learn. Each child gains confidence through individu-
al and group work. Students find their own special voice and identity while
learning to work with their peers.
Our Space
CCC’s facility is unique and very special. Once a little farm, the grounds and
buildings retain the open feeling of country living. Our 200 x 200 foot play-
ground supports outdoor play as students explore the gardens, dig in the sandbox,
kick balls across the grass, and play hide and seek in the forest. From scooters to
water play, summer days are super fun!

CCC Summer Program
Our Creative Curriculum
Writing, singing, acting, moving and inventing!
Sculpting, building, painting, drawing and design-
ing! Creative Children’s Center’s camps inspire
the imagination in us all. We bring together the
teachers, environment, materials and the tools
needed for children to
thrive. Each day stu-
dents are given
“launching points” for their investigations. Teachers
introduce “Big Ideas” at the daily meeting that in-
spire children to actively participate in their own
educational development. Inside or out, each day is
jam packed with summer fun.
The CCC Philosophy (Reggio Inspired)
CCC was founded as a constructivist ARTS inspired school in 1990 . Our
founder, Lucy Chaillé MFA, was inspired by the work of Dr. Christine Chaillé ,
an expert in Constructivist Education. Lucy’s first visit to the Reggio Emilia
Municipal Preschools was in the year 2000. She
fell in love with the city, the schools and the peo-
ple. Lucy has continued to attend a variety of
study tours in Reggio, and has hosted Reggio edu-
cators Amelia Gambetti and Lella Gandini at CCC.
Our wonderful teachers, Kate Boss, Vivian Lee,
Debra Lechleiters, and Allison Smith are Master
Level Teachers with many years of experience. As
professionals, we continue to grow and learn with
our students, parents and the community.

Creativity Camps and Studios Centers
Our summer indoor & outdoor classrooms are organized with gathering areas,
open play spaces and studios centers. Students may attend from 9-3:00 or select
a half day option with a pick up at 12:00. Extended care is available in the morn-
ing and afternoons.
Students begin their day by checking in with teacher for morning meeting and
group time. We start with music, movement and
stories. Big Ideas are launched and the fun begins!
Throughout the campus are special summer studio
areas that support the children's investigations and
creativity! Teachers and students use the studios
areas to bring their ideas to life! After lunch the
studios reopened for free exploration. Students can
continue their morning ideas or do something new!
Below is a list of our studios followed by our Creativity camp line up.
CCC Studios
Tinkering and Construction Studio
It’s tinkering time! To tinker is to design, to build, and create inventions using
materials found in the tinkering studio.
Performing Arts Studio
Story theatre, music and movement is integrated throughout the CCC curriculum.
Our performing arts studio supports children’s learning with puppets, costumes,
instruments and stage play.
Art Atelier
Paint, paper, chalks, charcoals, clay, fabric and wire are some of the materials
and mediums that children may use when they visit the art studio. Students may
freely explore the materials or use them to share big ideas.
Science Lab
CCC’s open science area encourages students to experiment and investigate the
world of science by building theories, testing hypotheses, researching and docu-
menting their observations.
Summer Splash I- (Life is a Beach) July 18 – July 22
Slip, sliding away! Let’s get moving in this fantasti-
cal week of water play! With a beach theme we will imagine living on our own
magical island. What would our house look like? What creatures and animals
might we meet? From splashy arts and crafts to wet and wild science, a slip slid-
ing good time will be had by all! Crazy water games will fill the days with laugh-
ter. Pack a bag with sunscreen, swim suit, towel and an extra change of clothes.
Magic and Myths, Legends and Lore July 25—July 29
Mermaids, unicorns, and dragons! Elves, Fairies and wee folk! As honorary CCC
wizards, we will take a trip into the enchanted world of our imaginations. Using
literacy and the arts our design centers will help us to create an enchanted world at
CCC, so grab your wand and hop on your dragon, it’s time to sore forwards and
backwards in time!
Super Science, Amazing Arts
July 4-July 8 (No camp 7/4)
CCC takes children’s inquiry to a new level by exploring three areas of science;
chemistry, biology, and physics by through the visual world of the arts. How does
clay change when fired? Does pendulum painting teach physics! Experiments ex-
plode as we pose questions, build hypotheses, and theorize the “how, what, and
why?”
Game Time
July 11-July15
Playing a good game encourages critical thinking,
focus and fun! Sports activities build our large mo-
tor skills and help us to understand others. This
week takes a look at the art of games and sports in
fun new ways. From bubbles, balls, and balloons to
dice, cards and spinners, everyone will feel like a
winner!
Habitat, Habitat, Have to have a Habitat to Carry On!
June 27 – July 1
Inspired by the science song, “Habitat” students will explore
the meaning of habitats, while creating a backyard habitat right
at CCC! A hands on class in environmental design and cre-
ativity!
