UC San Diego OTIEC’s Outreach Trainers

Outreach Reporting Tool

The UC San Diego OSHA Training Institute Education Center developed a web based online Submission Tool for our Outreach Trainers.

This advanced system allows for trainers to submit course documentation electronically and receive cards in a timely and efficient manner, avoiding any unnecessary delays. Often times, card processing takes 24-72 hours—not the customary 30 days.

Additionally, our system provides a database for trainers to access all student and card information in real time significantly cutting down time to find student records and process replacement cards when needed.

We strive to be the gold standard in Outreach and continue to partner with our trainers to ensure that they are equipped with all the necessary tools to make them successful.

OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH DEPARTMENT

The UCSD Professional Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health provides experienced safety professionals important workplace knowledge and practical experience regarding safety and safety standards. Professional Certificates offer concentrated study in areas directly applicable to many jobs and can add breadth and depth to existing knowledge and skills. You can elect a single certificate in Construction or General Industry, or a Dual Certificate in both areas.

The Safety Specialist Certificate was designed by the Occupational Safety and Health Department at UC San Diego Extension and the Associated Builders and Contractors, San Diego Chapter (ABC). It is an intensive, cohort-based program that combines in-class education with associated skills practice. Included in the certificate program topics are all items necessary for individuals to prepare for entry-level safety jobs in the construction industry, including an on-the-job internship.

Safety Specialist Certificate

The Public Sector Safety and Health Fundamentals Certificate Program supports OSHA’s mission by training public sector employees in occupational safety and health to reduce incident rates for workers in state and local governments (the certificate program is highly applicable to private industry workers as well).

Participants can choose from a variety of topics such as occupational safety and health standards for construction or general industry, safety and health management, accident investigation, fall hazard awareness, and recordkeeping.
