2016 Advertising Specs

general policies

• Investopedia.com reserves the right to refuse any creative.

• All creatives must be delivered 5 business days prior to campaign launch.

• All in-banner audio and creative expansion must be user-initiated.

• When clicked, all ads must open in a new window.

• Investopedia does not guarantee click counting.

• Ads are not to exceed 15 file requests during initial file load and host-initiated subload.

• All 4th party vendors to be included in creative assets must be declared and approved by Investopedia.

• 3rd party creative providers must give access to Investopedia in order to monitor reporting of impressions through their platform. Accounts should be created for [email protected].

Creative should be sent in HTML format. All images should be hosted by your server with an absolute path.

HTML Guidelines:1. All HTML tags must have an opening and closing tag2. Background images are not allowed3. Export to HTML from MS Word is not allowed4. Images must have alt tags (i.e. alt=“click here”)

CSS Requirements:1. Styles must be inline; external Style sheets are not allowed3. Internal Styles not allowed inside the <head> tag4. Font styles are allowed (e.g. style=”font:normal 12px arial;”>)5. Border properties are allowed6. Overflow and float properties are not allowed

Seed ListSeed email addresses are all the addresses that are to receive a test of the mailing prior to sending, and/or also a copy of the live mailing. A list of seed emails should be sent in a text file with one email per line.

SuppressionIf there are e-mail addresses that you would like to ensure do not receive the mailing, these addresses should be sent in a suppression file. The suppression file should be sent in a text file, with one email per line and no quotation marks or any other information of any kind.
