Apersonorcompanythatadoptsatrail(asponsor)would be responsible for keeping the trail in goodcondition. The twomain tasks involved include theremoval of foliage that is blocking the trail (trailbrushing) and re-grading sections of a trail topreventwatererosion.

WhattoExpect

Atypicaltrailmightrequireabout10to20man-hoursofwork per year. The entire trail does not need to bebrushed each year and not all erosion control projectsneed to be completed in any one year. A trail that hasbeen brushed completely and has had the erosioncontrol work completed may not require furtherattentionfor1-2years.

FriendsoftheSouthSlopesSociety(FOSS)

FOSSwill provide each sponsorwill an assessmentof theworkhisorher trail requires. FOSSwill alsoprovideinstructionsonhowtocompletethetasksifrequested. FOSSwillprovideagaspoweredbrushcutter (and instructions on how to use it) ifrequested.Anyotherspecialized trailbuilding toolswillbeloanedtothesponsorbyFOSSifrequested.

SilverSponsor

Asilversponsorwillhavetheirnamepostedonthetrailhead signpost. The cost is $150 for a 3-yeartermor$50.00annuallyfor3years.

GoldSponsor

Agoldsponsorwillhavetheirnamepostedonthetrailhead signpost. Also included is an ad on thetrail maps that are sold throughout Kelowna. Thecost is$300fora3-year termor$100.00annuallyfor3years.

PlatinumSponsor

Aplatinumsponsorwillhavetheirnamepostedonthe trailhead signpost, on a signpost, and at thetrail end as well. An ad is included on the trailmaps that are sold throughout Kelowna. Anappreciation plaque is presented to Platinumsponsors.Sponsorshipis$500fora3-yeartermor$167 annually and for a largebusiness/corporation it is $990 for a 3-year termor$330annually.
