The METRO stand-alone loader rangefrom Motan enables processors toautomate a key area of the productionprocess cost effectively, bringingsignificant benefits of improvedefficiency and process management.

Plastic granulate is conveyed quicklyand cleanly to the hopper of a pro-cessing machine, a drying bin or a daybin. Material is delivered exactly whenneeded keeping machines running andavoiding costly down time. Materialwastage is eliminated and theworkspace is kept clean and safe.

All METRO loaders are easy to installand simple to operate. They handlethroughputs from 5 up to 750kg/h.

It is assumed that nowadays production downtimesdue to empty machine hoppers do not occur.Hopper loaders automate the material feed to themachines. The cost advantage is obvious: cleanproduction sites, no material loss due to spilled ma-terial, no risk of injury associated with manual fillingof machine hoppers, better deployment ofpersonnel and, in conjunction with material storagebins, no material mistakes. Finally, no productiondowntimes.

METRO VLVenturi loaderThe METRO VL loader is designed principally formanufacturers who produce small plastic parts andcomponents.

This highly versatile compressed air loader canfulfil several different functions. It can be fitteddirectly to the throat of a small injection mouldingmachine to deliver 100kg/h of virgin material. It cansupply masterbatch feeders with masterbatch, aGRAVICOLOR blender with additives or a LUXORCA compressed air dryer with virgin material.

Many features make the METRO VL very userfriendly:

The stainless steel construction ensures nocontamination of material. An alarm indicatesinsufficient material.

METRO HES/MESSingle-phase loadersThese models are ready to use, self-contained, allpurpose loaders designed for material throughputsfrom 10 to 250kg/h.

They are fitted with an integrated vacuum motor,large filter and easy to operate controller. Theconveying times are adjustable. An alarm indicatesinsufficient material.

The units can be mounted directly onto the throat ofthe processing machine (MES) or to a machine ormaterial hopper (HES).

Noise insulation is fitted to the METRO HES/MES 50and 250 making them quiet in operation.

The METRO HES/MES 250 models are equippedwith reliable brushless motors and soft-start forwear-free operation.

All METRO HES/MES 50 and 250 models have ahinged lid for easy cleaning. METRO HES units areequipped with a large stainless steel discharge flapto ensure trouble-free operation. Filter cleaning afterevery conveying cycle by compressed air.

METROMIXProportioning valve

A stainless steel proportioning valve for mixingvirgin and regrind material. The percentage andnumber of material charges per feed cycle caneasily be adjusted. It can be retrofitted withoutdifficulty. The METROMIX is easily cleaned via alarge transparent access panel.

METRO HBSThree-phase loaders

The METRO HBS models offer a wide choice ofloader-blower sets and are designed for higherthroughputs, from 250 up to 750kg/h.

The units are supplied with a separate three-phasefloor standing blower station which is low noise andmaintenance free. The control panel is located at aconvenient height, eliminating the need to climbonto the processing machine. An alarm indicatesinsufficient material.

Highly efficient automatic implosive filter cleaning isstandard on all METRO HBS loaders.

METRO HBS units are also available with twomaterial inlets. A separate mixing valve is notneeded, as the METRO HBS loader has an integralproportioning function for virgin and regrind materi-al. The ratio between the materials is preciselyadjustable, so that the loader delivers a completelyhomogeneous mixture.

Up to two loaders plus a blower station can becontrolled through a single control panel. In effect,processors can set up a small conveying system,with METRO HBS loaders serving either twomachines or one machine and a drying bin.

Modularity

• The Motan METRO range with 0.5 to 30 litrescapacity.

• Modular design allows easy adaptation.

• Machine loaders replace the storage bins on theprocessing machines.

• The option of either a glass or steel hopper bodyis available for most loaders.

Implosion valve

All METRO HPS/HPG material loaders are fittedwith a vacuum valve. The valve opens the vacuumline when material is being conveyed and closeswith an airtight seal after the conveying phase. Thereduced pressure in the loader then causes theimplosion valve to open suddenly for a short time.The shock of this implosion cleans the materialseparation screen after each conveying cycle.

Convey control

GRAVInet is an automated control system forhopper loaders. The integrated convey control atthe GRAVICOLOR blending units allows the controlof up to seven hopper loaders.
