HISTORYEGAC has been providing a positive experience for swimmers of all ages for over 25 years. We have a team of trained coaches working with the Head Coach to help each swimmer reach his or her full potential. We swim at Cosumnes River College, Sacramento City College and other local Sacramento/Elk Grove pools.

We are a year-round, competitive league in the Sierra Nevada Local Swim Club (SN-LSC) of USA Swim-ming. Each swimmer and family has access to a wide range of resources from both a local team and a national swimming organization.

PHILOSOPHYAt EGAC we believe that the sport of swimming should be both physically challenging and fun. There are two elements involved in the physical mastery of swimming: technique and conditioning. In our program we seek to provide both of these elements in the proper balance for each individual. While some swimmers will improve more with technical instruction, others will excel through hard work. Our coaches tailor their instruction based on individual levels of technical mastery and physical condition-ing and seek to improve both.

We also know that honing skills and improving conditioning are very hard work. So at EGAC we strive to have fun, both in the carefree sense and in regards to achieving goals. This is accomplished through annual activities and through regular practice work like creative drills and training games.

FAMILY COMMITMENTEGAC is a non-profit organization which depends on its members to volunteer to promote unity and to enable the success of EGAC. Volunteering during the swimming calendar year of Aug 31st through July 1st is REQUIRED for all families. It helps keep our dues low, pay the salaries of our wonderful coaches and the operating costs of a swim team.

All EGAC families will be required to fulfill volunteer commitments as long as your swimmersare in the water. All hours in the chart below are per family.

Suggested Volunteer Activities:

• Meet Official

• EGAC Invitational Coordinator/Committee (snack bar, volunteer shifts, etc.)

• Spirit Wear Coordinator

• Fundraising Committee (Dinner on the Go, Dining for Dollars, Garage Sales, etc.)

• Sponsorships/Donations

• Timing Coordinator

• Social Media Coordinator (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram)

• Team Photographer

• Board Member

• Team Activity Coordinator (monthly birthday celebrations, potlucks, offsite activities,

taking attendance at meets...etc.)

• Website Team

• GatorBook Admin

• GatorShop Admin

The EGAC Invitational (home meet) is one of our largest fund raisers of the year, making upwards of $10,000 for the team. It takes every single family’s hard work and best effort to make the meet a suc-cess. We recognize you may have other commitments on weekends when swim meets are scheduled. If you are unable to work your required shifts you must arrange with a EGAC Board member other options at least 30 days in advance. In lieu of working your shifts you also have the option of “buying out.” Non-fulfilled commitments will assess penalties and fees on account.
