Boys & Girls Clubs of Mercer County will offer after school programs for over 800 youths in grades K to 8, Monday through Friday, starting September 7, 2016.

Programs are held at our 212 Centre Street Clubhouse and in six elementary schools in the City of Trenton: Village Charter; PJ Hill; Mott Elementary; Jefferson Elementary; Gregory School; and Robbins School.

We offer free bus transportation from eleven schools to our Centre Street Clubhouse: Columbus; Foundation Academy Charter School; International Academy; Hedgepath-Williams; Grant Elementary; Martin Luther King; Robbins Annex; Parker; Paul Robeson Charter; and Trenton Catholic Academy.

Our after school program is open to any youth in Kindergarten to eighth grade. Students must be a member of the Boys & Girls Club and complete an after school application.

Dates: Mondays through Fridays, September 2016 to June 2017

DROP-IN PROGRAMSStarting September 19, 2016, tween members of the Boys & Girls Club can come to our Centre Street Clubhouse , Monday-Thursday, from 6:30-8:30 PM, for fun drop-in activities specially designed for their age group. HOLIDAY CAMPSWhen school is out the Club is open!Holiday camps run at Centre Street Clubhouse from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM when school is out. Youth can participate in a wide variety of activities throughout the day, such as sports, computers, art, arcade, cooking and more. Some camps have themes or include field trips to local attractions.

Pre-registration for holiday camp is required.

CALLING ALL TWEENS ! Plan to attend our bi-annual, two-day BGC TWEEN CONFERENCE for kids in Grades 5-8. Participants will be guided through a host of enrichment activities, conducted by our community partners, sure to build self-confidence and achievement, foster creative expression and promote positive social interaction. FALL BASKETBALL LEAGUEStarts Saturday, September 24, 2016!The Boys & Girls Club Basketball League will begin another season and is open to boys and girls. Youth will compete in two divisions: Grades 3-5 and Grades 6-8. Youth are placed on teams of 8 and play 5-on-5. A team shirt is provided to all participants. All games and practices will take place at the Centre Street Clubhouse.

Program fee: $45/Club Member; $70/Non-Members

FALL SOCCER LEAGUEStarts Saturday, September 10, 2016!The Boys & Girls Soccer League has been the fastest growing and most popular youth soccer league in the City of Trenton. The BGC Fall Soccer recreational league is organized soccer with an emphasis on fun and skill development and is offered to boys and girls ages 7-17 years old. During our season children improve their physical health, increase their knowledge of the game, responsibility and sportsmanship. Our league is for both individual and team participation. All games and practices will be at Cadwalader Park. Games will be on Saturdays.

Program fee: $45/Club Members; $70/Non-Members

SOCCER ACADEMYStarting Tuesday, November 1, 2016!The Academy is an instructional program, for kids ages from 4-17 years old, designed to improve basic soccer skills such as dribbling, passing, receiving and shooting. Academy training is offered for teams and individual players. This is a great program for youth to increase their knowledge and improve on all aspects of their game. Sessions are held every Tuesday evening.

Program fee: $25 for Club Members

TRENTON SPORTS Various athletic sports programs are held at the Boys & Girls Club including sports teams from our after school program. Our sports programs allow Club kids to develop physical fitness, positive use of leisure time, skills for stress management, team building and social skills.

KARATEPrinceton ATA Black Belt Academy and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Mercer County have come together to form a program through which Club members are learning self-confidence, self-defense, and physical fitness through the practice of karate. The focus of the ATA program is to provide kids with high quality martial arts instruction in a safe and positive learning environment that members of all ages can enjoy. Martial arts offer something for a child that no other sport can. It’s a “learning style” athletic activity that develops a sense of self discipline that can carry over into all aspects of life. Classes are held at the Centre Street Clubhouse.

BEGINNER LEVEL:Thursdays 6:30 PM-7:00 PM Saturdays 9:15 AM-10:00 AM

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL:Thursdays 7:00 PM-8:00 PMSaturdays 10:00 AM-11:00 AM

FUTSAL WINTER SOCCER SESSION IStarts November 19, 2016!

The indoor soccer program is open to boys and girls, ages 4-18 years old. Individual and team registration is welcome. Our league is a great way to introduce beginners to the game of soccer and for experienced players to fine tune the fundamentals of the sport. All games will be played on Saturdays at the Centre Street Clubhouse.

Program fee: $45/Club Member; $70/Non-Members

FUTSAL WINTER SOCCER SESSION I IThe second session of indoor soccer kicks off Saturday, February 11, 2017.

OPEN GYM The Club offers open gym time at our Centre Street Clubhouse during the week, Monday – Friday, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. This is an excellent way of reaching your daily cardio goals while shooting hoops. Many take advantage of open gym time during lunch hour.

Fee: $25 per month
