Gulf officials meet at Camp David. U.S. President Barack Obama has updated the U.S. position on the Iran nuclear talks to Gulf Arab leaders taking part in the summit. President hoped to ease their concerns over the potential nuclear agreement with Iran.

"Fortunately because of the depth and breadth of our cooperation and partnerships, we've been able to strengthen each other, and work together."

The summit at Camp David focused also on other middle-east issues, including the fighting in Iraq, Syria, Yemen and Libya.

Burundi's presidential office says President Pier Nkurunziza is backing the country, saying the military coup attempt while he was in Tanzania has failed. VOA was unable to verify the statement.

Islamic State group has released an audio message, it says, from its leader Abubakar Al Badadi. Badadi has not been seen or heard from in months. The message urges Muslims to take up arms in its cause.

Afghan and the United Nations officials say the death toll in the overnight Taliban assault on a Kabul guesthouse has risen to at least 14. Ayaz Gul has more.

The United Nations says Uganden's xx EDF rebels were mainly responsible for the summary executions of at least 237 civilians in the eastern Democratic Republic of
