OVermOuNtaIN Camp

Rising 6th – Rising 10th grade This camp is a unique combination of history, wilderness skills, and outdoor adventure. The overmountain men (and women) were backcountry settlers who rose up against loyalist troops at King’s Mountain in 1780. We will learn some of the skills these pioneers possessed—fire building, shelter construction, cooking, and tomahawk throwing---then embark on a two-day odyssey into the blue Ridge Mountains, retracing the steps that the overmountain Men took on their way to King’s Mountain. There will be day hikes, overnight camping, and visits to historic sites.
