I hope you all have had many opportunities to enjoy all that
Maine has to offer in the summer. During the summer, our custodial
staff has been very busy cleaning the school, getting it ready for
another school year. Many staff members have spent time this summer
involved in professional development activities that will be
beneficial to our students.
At the end of the last school year you should have received a
calendar of the 2015-2016 school year. As a reminder, our first day
of school is later than usual this year. Due to the fact that Labor
Day is late, September 7th, our first day of school will be
Tuesday, September 8th for students in grades 1-5 and Wednesday,
September 9th for our new Kindergarten friends. Our annual Back to
School Open House will be held on Thursday, September 3rd from 5:00
6:00 p.m. This is a wonderful opportunity to drop in, see your
childs new classroom and meet their new teacher.
I hope to see you at the Back to School Open House. In the
meantime, if you have any questions about the opening of school,

The entire staff joins me in welcoming you and your children to
another year of growing and learning at Brown School.
