Arbor Lakes Shopping & Dining

The first life-style shopping center in the state of Minnesota, The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes is a visitor favorite. With no tax on clothing & shoes, feel free to indulge in stores including high-end designers, independent boutiques, and your favorite national brands. Stroll through the park-like streets of this outdoor mall, and take a break in the courtyard where you might even catch a live performance!

Plan a couple days to scope out the Arbor Lakes shopping & dining district in Maple Grove. With

exquisite shopping, some of the best dining outside of downtown Minneapolis, four hotels, a waterpark, unique entertainment options for the whole family, and a plethora of outdoor events, the Arbor Lakes area is a hub for locals and visitors alike.

Arbor Lakes expands well beyond the Shoppes. Three distinct shopping areas plus the surrounding retail & restaurants, Town Green, Maple Grove Community Center, and more make up the Arbor Lakes shopping & dining district. Main Street is the original Arbor Lakes experience, offering shops and eateries within easy walking distance of each other in a classic main street atmosphere. The Fountains at Arbor Lakes is the newest addition to the area, and here you’ll find even more shopping and dining.

T h e S h o p p e s a t A r b o r L a k e s“There are so many great shops, not to mention great eats! It has a beautiful courtyard too, great for an afternoon stroll. Love it!” - Wendy I.

Wagner’s Drive-In If you liked the old A&W drive ins, then you’ll love Wagner’s! This locally owned drive-in is one of the few originals left in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Metro area. You can find old-fashion burgers, fries, malts and ice cream cones as big as your head. If you’re interested in vintage cars, the Wag-Niters Car Club stroll in with their vintage cars on Monday nights throughout the summer time. It’s like a 50’s flashback!

Brewcation

Turn your vacation into a Brewcation! Minneapolis - St. Paul is a craft beer drinker’s haven. A few years ago, Brooklyn Center’s own Surly Brewing Company led the charge to make it legal for local breweries to sell pints on-site. Since the passing of the ‘Surly Bill’ in 2011, over 30 taprooms have popped up in the Twin Cities and the rest is history.

Surly Brewing Company

520 Malcolm Avenue SoutheastMinneapolis, MN 55414763.535.3330 | surlybrewing.com

Surly Brewing Company is an award winning brewery based out of Brooklyn Center. It all started back in 2004 when an avid home brewer got the crazy idea to close his family’s manufacturing business and convert their factory into a brewery. In 2006, Surly sold its first keg of beer. It was the first brewery to be built in Minneapolis in over 20 years, and was so popular in the Twin Cities that they could hardly keep up with demand. They opened a small taproom in 2011 with the passing of the ‘Surly Bill’ which made it legal to do so. They had bigger plans than that, however.

In 2014, Surly underwent a major expansion and opened a second facility in Minneapolis. Their new destination brewery opened in December 2014 and is complete with 225 seat beer hall, restaurant and enormous beer garden. Recommended: Furious
