To our supporters,

We are now entering into a new phase in our history. In addit ion to managing what we have acquired, we must now engage future generations so they wi l l value and defend what you have helped preserve. We must implement a course of act ion that knits together preserved lands in the watershed into an improved healthier ecosystem, including that urban port ion of Escondido Creek now confined in a concrete ditch. This is our gift to the future, to tomorrow’s watershed residents, and to the wi ldl i fe that wi l l thr ive as the watershed is enhanced and restored. Any bold vis ion breeds chal lenges, but with your help we wi l l meet them. Thanks to you, our strong track record inspires confidence in the future of the Escondido Creek watershed.

In the past 24 years, over 3,000 acres of wi ld lands have been preserved in the Escondido Creek watershed. TECC has been involved in over 80% of these acquis it ions. More recently the preservation has extended beyond Elf in Forest including 800 acres south of Lake Wohlford and 100 acres west of Daley Ranch. Addit ional ly, over the years TECC’s environmental education program has grown to provide approximately 450 young people per year the opportunity to part ic ipate in discovery-based programs at the interpretive center.

The real izat ion of a large connected mult i-city and county system of preserved lands in North County is coming to fruit ion through the efforts , expert ise, and energy of many people. I t takes many partners to make this happen. Thank you for being one of them.

Kevin Barnard, PresidentAnn Van Leer, Executive Director

2010 - TODAY: PRESERVING THE UPPER ESCONDIDO CREEK WATERSHED: SUSTAINING A WILD LEGACYBuilding on the vision of the City of Escondido when it preserved the 3,000-acre Daley Ranch, TECC is working to secure strategic properties which will enhance wildlife movement and protect Escondido Creek in the upper watershed above the city. TECC’s preservation efforts at Bottle Peak (418 acres, 2010) and MJM Ranch (92 acres, 2013) help build on that legacy.

2010 - TODAY: THE ESCONDIDO CREEK TRAIL: CONNECTING NEIGHBORHOODSTECC is working with the City of Escondido to implement improvements along the Escondido Creek trail like the Plaza de Arroyo pocket park. Escondido Creek through the city of Escondido should be a source of civic pride and serve as a linear park for people and wildlife.
