Can you believe that 2015 is half over. We have really been busy inour Chapter the last few months. I was hoping to have the resultsof our voting for Officers and Delegates but we will have it by ourmeeting. At this time we need all the people that ran asdelegates. Final decision should be in the mail soon (probablybefore you get this).

Lobby Day was in April and there were 5 of our members whoparticipated. We were able to see someone from all the legislativeoffices in our chapter area. Most of the time we talked to the officepeople because there was voting on several matters that therepresentatives had to be present for. Remember when you go toa legislator’s office that it is just as important to talk to their officeworkers because they are State employees so they are veryinterested in what matters to us and pass it on.

I was very impressed with Senator Mike Morrell. He was one thathad to be on the floor for a vote but he made sure he met us longenough to apologize to us. He called while we were in his officeand asked us to meet him in the Senate chambers for a picture sohe could post it on his Facebook page.

Our September meeting will be very important to the Delegates. We will be going over General Council and Delegate Assembly, which will be held in Sacramento in October.

Our next meeting will be September 24th at the Flip It Café inFontana. See you there.

Dee

Merilee Colton is a relatively new member to Chapter 6, having movedhere from Northern California three years ago. She has jumped in withboth feet as our Membership Coordinator. She was also appointed tothe statewide Membership Committee, where she monitors theAmbassador Program in five Chapters including ours.

Every month ,for Chapter 6, Merilee sends a welcome letter to each

new member and searches for our missing members when we havereturned mail from the post office.

She is also compiling a Membership Coordinator Manual, to helpCoordinators in other chapters all over the state with their duties.

We are lucky to have Merilee in our chapter!

Bob Rice,Vice President. and PAC Committee member

Last month on April 8th, five members from Chapter 6 had the privilege ofattending the CSR annual lobby day held at the State capitol in Sacramento. BobRice, Dee Stoddard, Willis and Sharon Huddleston, and Gene Waggonerrepresented Chapter 6. During the day we contacted several assembly membersand two State Senators, who represent districts within our Chapter boundaries. We wanted to relate to them was our position on maintaining our presentretirement benefits. In every visit, each and every Assembly person along withthe two Senators indicated that they were on our side. They all basically stated

that we had nothing to worry about, but we are committed to keeping thepressure on. One of the Senators, Mike Morrell , who centers out of RanchoCucamonga ,was unable to spend time with us because he had a meeting toattend ,let us into the Senate chambers, where he took a picture with us. SenatorMorrell traditionally has been very supportive of our cause and continues to do soalong with Senator Jeff Stone from Riverside County.

A very good and informative time was had by all. Any chapter member whowould like to participate next year, just keep it in mind and when the time comes, express your desire. Regards to all, Bob
