Welcome to CAPLA’S third webinar in the series on quality assurance for the Recognition of Prior Learning (also called Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition) and its implications for practice. This is part of a larger Pan-Canadian RPL Quality Assurance Project by CAPLA, with funding by the Government of Canada’s Foreign Credential Recognition program. RPL is incorporated into a range of services to help individuals identify, document, assess and recognize their learning for various purposes. Our first two webinars explored RPL, guiding principles, support resources, and other topics (If you missed the first two webinars, see the recordings here). The May 27th webinar will : Provide an overview of the QA in RPL Manual which is in its final stages of development Offer an opportunity to view and comment on some of the key checklists/quality audits being developed for those who use RPL Provide us with additional suggestions of organizations that represent some ‘good case examples’ of incorporating quality RPL processes and procedures that might be referenced in the Manual All input will help inform our project outcomes, resulting in a manual that will help: enhance the assessment of the learning of immigrants and other individuals through RPL across various work contexts and purposes of RPL promote a culture of continuous improvement increase organizational effectiveness Presenters: Deb Blower – Chair, CAPLA RPL Standards Working Group & Red River College RPL Facilitator Ann Pedersen – Research Analyst/Writer for the Quality in RPL Manual Moderator: Gail Hall Adult Learning and Recognition Consultant Length: 60 minutes Fee: The webinar is FREE but you are required to register.
