Congratulations to the Women’s Canadian Gymnastics Team!! July was an amazing time and experience not only for Canada Games and sport but for Women’s Artistic Gymnastics as Toronto hosted the 2015 Pan American /Para Pan American, where the Canadian Women’s Artistic Team captured the support. Athletes – Ellie Black (NS), Maegan Chant (ON), Madison Copiak (AB), Isabella Onyshko (MB) and Victoria Woo (QC) Team Coaches: David Kikuchi (NS) and Lorie Henderson (MB) An incredible run for Canada’s women’s gymnastics team captured the silver medal in the Team competition with a score of 166.500 behind the US Team (173.800). Canada’s success continued with Ellie Black winning the All Around competition. Ontario’s own Maegan Chant (World Class) qualified for the vault finals and tied 4th with a score of 14.062. A gold star performance and achievement to all the coaches, athletes, support staff and volunteers involved! It is an exciting time and Pan Am showing should motivate and inspire for the World Championships where Team Canada will compete in hopes of qualifying a Team to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.
