Wood cabinetry
Though there are many types of cabinetry you can choose from - stainless steel, thermofoil or laminate - to name a few, this upcoming year calls for cabinetry reminiscent of the best hardwood. This means dark wood finished cabinet doors, and your island wrapped in wood panels.
Hot tip: This year we’re predicting more people will be drawn to Cherry or Maple wood.
Quartz countertops
Quartz countertops are becoming increasingly popular, which is why we are predicting this will be a hot design trend for 2015. The uniform design that it gives attracts many people, not to mention it is maintenance free.
Stained cabinets
There are thousands of cabinet colors on the market, but there are some colors that are really standing out this year.
A vintage soft cream from Showplace Cabinetry will give you an edge on the white cabinet trend this year.
If you would like lighter brown cabinetry, an autumn stain on maple is gorgeous for your updated kitchen.
Cherry wood with a coffee glaze will give your room the warm elegance you are looking for.
Wide open spaces
Though this trend isn’t unique to 2015, it is still a popular move for your kitchen design. Keep the kitchen, dining room, and living area open.
Hot Tip:Adding windows to your kitchen design can make the room feel even more open.
Add a splash of color to your sinks
If you’re interested in a unique modern look, get a colored kitchen sink. Black, mocha, and copper are popular colors.
Hot Tip:If your kitchen is more conservative, stay with a white sink. It will keep the kitchen in style.
White granite
This year be prepared to see warmer toned white colors. Top countertops from Arizona Tile are Alaska, White Springs and Mesquite (pictured left to right).
Alaska Granite offers warmer colors with beige and black movement.
White Springs offers burgundy and gray veining.
White granite with color is very trendy, which is exactly what you’ll see with Mesquite. It offers white granite with green undertones.
Keeping it white
Variations of white kitchens are still in this year. The all white kitchen gives the feeling of a bright open room and makes the room look fresh and clean.
Hot Tip:With an all white kitchen you can go all out with colored hardware, pots, pans or dishes.
Brightening the room
To be in with the best kitchen design of the year, add unique pendant lighting over your island, bar or kitchen table. It will give your room depth with the light and shadow patterns it can cast.
Hot Tip:Your lighting fixture will be the most stunning art piece added to your kitchen.
Darker stoneIf white toned countertops aren’t your style, there are darker granite countertop options that are showing up as a trend in 2015.
The most popular dark countertop colors from Arizona Tile are Smokey Mountain and Steel Grey (pictured left to right).
With Smokey Mountain Granite you’ll get a lot of beautiful movement with grey and brown tones.
Steel Grey is perfect for those that prefer an even darker countertop with a very consistent pattern.
Creating a room that feelsNot only should your kitchen look unique and new, but it should also feel that way. Adding texture to your kitchen cabinetry, backsplash, walls or countertops will revolutionize the look of your kitchen.
Hot Tip:Adding a satin finish to your countertop, like the one
shown above, can give it a beautiful soft texture.
Dramatic coloring
Navy is becoming the color of versatility this year. This color looks great in bathrooms where it provides a beautiful calming effect but also gives a dramatic element to the walls. Another way to feature this color is in corridors or lower kitchen cabinets.
Hot Tip:If you’re not into navy blue, having the stark contrast of black or white, or a combination of
both is another hot trend.
Faucet fixtures
Take the stainless steel out of your life and bring on the warm toned color of bronze in your faucet fixtures.
Dedicated storage
Specialized storage spaces are not only very 2015 but also provides a specific place for certain items. Tall pantry pull outs, or a solid wood knife block drawer are just some of the fantastic ways to organize your items and keep things trendy.
Hot Tip:Adding a walk-in pantry is a great way to store your items.
Copper that pops
This year you’re bound to see copper popping up everywhere. Need a new backsplash? Make it copper, the shine will give your kitchen or bath that desired look and will attract a lot of positive attention.
Downsizing the kitchenThough open spaces are still popular, scaling back on your kitchen size is becoming more appealing this year. Grand kitchens were so last year.
Hot Tip:Smaller islands and more intimate gathering places are what 2015 is all about.
