Day 1: Izmir Izmir, is the cosmopolitan city on the Egean Coast, where the most spoken language is greek -like Thessalonica-until its liberation from Greek by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk in 1922 and the nit became the rival of Istanbul in terms of commercial and industriel activities.

Day 2: Izmir /Pergame/Selcuk (280 km apprx.) Bergama (Pergamon), one the richest and interesting archéological sites

Day 3 : Ephèse / Priène / Didim (170 km apprx.) On the way to Selçuk ( Ephèsus), we will commence by the visit of Virgin’s House on the mountain Aladağ. And then we will discover one of the historical sites well preserved with its temple, one of the seven wonders of the Universe Temple of Artemis.

We will be on the road again to reach Ionia a perfect example of urban settlement of Antique Age. And then for the antique site of Didim well know for

its temple of Apollon.

Day 4 : Dalyan/Kas / Kalkan (160 kms apprx.) Départure on “kayik”(small boats) for the discovery of the famous rocky tombs lycian. Then visit of Caunos site. Launch. Stop of swimming. Then visit of Patara Beach.

Day 5: Kaş/ Antalya (150 kms apprx.) Departure for Antalya. Visite of Phasélis. Lunch. Discovery of Termessos in the afternoon. Dinner et accomodation in Antalya.

Philippi, where Paul was imprisoned. We visit the site of the prison where his jailer was converted, and the Roman Forum where Paul was arrested for his Christian faith, and also the river where Lydia was baptised (possibly the first baptism in Europe) and the Orthodox Church dedicated to her. We shall then drive south to Kavala (Neapolis), the seaport where Paul landed in Macedonia.

Day 6 : Thessaloniki - Veria - Meteora - Kalambaka This morning we leave for Veria, where a shrine witnesses Paul’s visit. Here, Paul found the local Jews more amenable than those in Thessaloniki, and many of them became believers together with many Greek women of high standing

and a number of the men.

Day 7: Kalambaka - Athens When Paul arrived in Athens, whilst waiting for Silas and Timothy, he went to the synagogue where he debated with the Jews and the God-fearing. He also went to the market place (Agora) where he debated with anyone whom he met.

Day 8: Athens We plan to begin the day with a visit to St Dionysios Cathedral. We then drive to Mars Hill and then on to the Acropolis where we shall have a guided tour of the Parthenon and the other monuments. The Acropolis represents the apotheosis of artistic development in the 5th century BC, the Golden Age of Pericles.

Day 5 A short return to visit the site of Xanthos, no doubt that this is one of most well kept treasury of the region. Xanthos has been the most important city Ancient Confederation of Lycia. Many important artefacts were found from his past,

glorious but tantalized. Especially two tombs, the Nereid Monument and the Tomb of Payava, are now exhibited in the British Museum. The Harpy Tomb is still located in the ruins of the city. The Harpy Tomb is a marble chamber from a pillar tomb dating to approximately 480–470 BC, the chamber topped a tall pillar and was decorated with marble panels carved in bas-relief.
