Stay in shape at FeddetThere are many possibilities of staying in shape when you are vacating at Feddet.Lace up your running shoes and enjoy kilometres of forest tracks with gentle rises and long stretches of loose sand.

Or get on your MTB and following the forest tracks towards the south, ground varying between firm forest floor, gravel roads and large areas of loose sand which are challenging for you technique and gets your pulse up.

If you like kayaking, you can rent one from us, or you could of course also bring your own. It is possible to kayak on both sides of Feddet, in the calm waters of Præstø Fjord or in the more challenging waters of Faxe Bugt.

Go horseback riding and enjoy the varied and beautiful riding tracks at Feddet and Strandegård. You can book your ride with Line on her lovely Iceland ponies. Line has a degree in biology and will tell you all there is to know about the exciting origination and fauna of Feddet. The trip goes along the beach, over the heath among the curious Highland cattle and through the deep pine forest. If you want to bring your own horse, you can make such further arrangements on tel. +45 5672 5206.

If you want to try out a different challenge, you could go motorcycle riding on electrical and silent off-roadmotorcycles. The trip takes two hours including change of clothes and instructions and is for persons over 18 with a certain experience from MTB or motocross. All safety equipment is available.

FEDDET CAMPINGA PART OF STRANDEGÅRD GODS

STRANDEGÅRDFeddet Camping is a part of Strandegård Gods. Apart from operation of the camp-site, its activities are forestry, organic farming and rental of the property houses. The manor house and the operating buildings are a little to the north of the campsite. Several times during the season, tours are arranged for the guests of the campsite for demonstration of the farm tractors and machinery. From the organic apple plan-tation, you can pick your own apples in the late summer – and you can even make your own apple juice. At Feddet, a little to the south of the campsite, you will also find the organic blueberry plantation where you can pick your own delicious and healthy berries. The blueberry season typically starts at the end of July and conti-nues until late August. Dates and times of these activities appear from the activity calendar of the campsite on www.feddetcamping.dk.

Strandegård and Feddet have great natural values. The most famous one is Stran-degård Dyrehave with its many barrows and the heath on Feddet, which is the largest one in Zealand. On the heath, 60 cows and their calves of the race Scottish Highland cattle are grazing. The cattle are descended from the European aurochs, which are characterised by their long, beautiful horns and thick fur. The animals are grazing on the heath and the beach meadows to help preserve the enormous biodi-versity of the area. The cattle are grazing on the heath all year long and thereby help to ensure that the area is not overgrown with bracken and forest. In addition to this, the cattle actually contribute to the migratory birds having a place to rest and renew their energy when they fly by.

A GOOD STORY...Strandegård is named after its location fronting the Baltic Sea near the beach. The manor house is built in the place where the small village Fiskerhoved was originally situated. The area was crown land and belonged to King Frederik 4th. Over the years, the owners of the property have been many. The present owner Ivan Reedtz-Thott’s family has owned Strandegård Gods since 1731.

Until the year 1800, there was a barracks near the manor house. Here was a platoon of soldiers whose assignment was to defend the entrance to Præstø Fjord. This was done from the entrenchment, Skansen, a defensive structure with several large canons and surrounded by deep trenches, ramparts and oak fences. Skansen was placed high up on the cliff, a few hundred metres from the farm with a good view of Faxe bugt and the channel towards the town of Præstø. Later on, a real barracks was built closer to the beach and the defensive structure, called Batterihuset. Here, the gunboats of the platoon were moored, ready for defending the coast and the merchant ships against the enemy. Today, you can experience Skansen when you ride or hike on the beautiful track Skansestien between Strandegård and Strandegård Dyrehave.

Over the years, the area surrounding Strandegård and Feddet has had a special attraction to poets and artists, the most famous one being Hans Christian Andersen.

RED ROUTEThe short morning trip starts at the information desk. Follow the red route, the paths of the forest and the fiord bank will guide you. Grab a refreshment at Offerlunden and enjoy the light over the fiord. Follow the road past Fedgår-den home. Make a short stop at the habour, where you might see a herd of swans on the south point in your binoculars.

YELLOW ROUTEFFollow the yellow route along the beach to the heath. Here the Scottish Highland Cattle are grazing with their newborn calves. They are peaceful animals, but you should still keep a respectful distance. On your way home, you could take a rest at the organic blueberry plantation. A bench is put there for that particular purpose. You can even enjoy picking your own blueberries. The season typically starts late July and goes until end of August.

BLUE ROUTEGrab your binoculars, put on your hiking boots or jump on your bike. Follow the blue route to the bird tower on the south point of Feddet. From here, you can see resting or migrating birds all year. Remember sometimes to look up in the sky; you might then see a white-tailed eagle hovering majestically over the landscape hunting for prey – an unforgettable sight.

INFORMATION ABOUT SEASON PITCHESA season pitch is for one family (the household), max. 5 persons. You can buy additional persons for your season pitch. Dogs are included in the season price. On arrival, you will receive a meter. The meter will be sealed with your own cable (remember to bring cable).

Seasons at Feddet are divided into spring, summer, late summer and winter. Start and end dates depend upon the timing of public and school holidays during the year.

If you rent a season pitch, you must show a gas test on arrival. NB: The gas test is valid for 2 years from the trial date.

SPRING AND LATE SUMMERIf you buy a spring season, we automatically place you on the late summer season. If you buy a late summer season, we automatically place you on the spring season. As the new season approaches, we will send you a letter in response to which you will accept or decline. As long as the spring and late summer seasons are booked year after year, you will have the same pitch number. If you decline the pitch one season, you will, unfortunately, lose the right to the same pitch number. However, you are of course guaranteed another pitch next spring/late summer.
