THE RIDERSerious road riders and racers seeking every possible advantage to improve their performance – specifically an aerodynamic edge .

FEATURES AND BENEFITS• 1 series frames are constructed

of Fuji’s ultra high-modulus C10 carbon, and the 2 series frames: Fuji’s C5 high-modulus carbon; both are lightweight, high-strength, and oriented in a layup structure that maximizes stiffness .

• Designed with wider cross-sectional tubes than a traditional aero road bike to achieve opti-mum stiffness .

• Tapered head tube and fork are aerodynamically contoured to provide smooth, uninterrupted airflow over the front brake and across the downtube .

• Proprietary aero seat post with an integrated seat clamp system for cleaner airflow, plus a roughened surface on the front of the seat post to ensure the post doesn’t slip .

• Direct-mount front and rear brakes remove the excess mate-rial of a carrier plate – allowing for better frame integration and improved aerodynamics; the Transonic’s fork is also contoured to match the shape of the front brake, further optimizing aerody-namics .

• Fuji is one of the first in the in-dustry to position a direct-mount brake on the seatstays instead of under the chainstay, where it is extremely challenging to service; Fuji also chose to position its dual-pivot brake in front of the fork for easier maintenance than

an integrated system; and while there are aerodynamic advantag-es to placing the brakes behind the fork like with the Norcom Straight, the linear pull brakes required in this position don’t retract far enough away from the rim and can cause rubbing issues on a road bike .

• Asymmetrical, oversized Energy Transfer Chainstays (ETC) offset drivetrain-induced torque by maintaining lateral stiffness, displacing power more evenly through the frame, and yet still delivering greater vibration-dampening properties – all of which aids in improved pedaling efficiency .

• Integrated chain watcher ensures smooth shifts without the risk of dropping the chain to the inside .

• Fully internal cable routing for mechanical and Di2 systems – including an internal Di2 battery integrated into the seat post – that not only improves aerody-namics but protects the cables for consistent shifting even in inclement conditions .

• Designed with the future in mind, the frame accommodates all the newest wide-rim profile wheel systems .

• Very wide range of sizes: 7 total, from the 61cm all the way down to the 46 cm for one of the wid-est size ranges in the industry .

THE STORYFuji’s entry into the growing aero road market, the Transonic is the latest evolution of three years in the wind tunnel that first yielded the greatest track bike in the world: the Track Elite; second, the Tri/TT, fit-comes-first machine with 11 pro victories in its first season: the Norcom Straight; and now, the Transonic: the epitome of all knowl-edge gained and lessons learned harnessed into an aero road offering designed to save time without com-promising stiffness or ride quality . While the ultra-lightweight Altamira shines on brutal gradients and the super-stiff SST in bunch sprints, the aerodynamic Transonic thrives in all circumstances – but is especially in its element on flat or rolling terrain with heavy crosswinds .

VALIDATIONFuji-sponsored pro team NetApp Endura was heavily involved in the development process, providing extensive ride testing feedback . They will debut the Transonic at one of the biggest sporting events in the world and the greatest event in all of cycling: the Tour de France . Five of the team’s nine riders - the domestiques and sprinters - will race on the Transonic while the four climbers will be on the Altamira .

THE RIDERPerformance-oriented road riders and racers looking for an ultra-lightweight, carbon, all-around competition platform that excels on the climbs and is pro peloton-proven .

FEATURES AND BENEFITS • SL and 1 series frames are con-

structed of Fuji’s top-of-the-line C15 carbon, which utilizes High Compaction (HC) molding: a series of internal molds that elimi-nate wrinkles and excess resin buildup in high-stress, complex radius bend areas (i .e . the head tube and bottom bracket junc-tions) for greater compaction in the carbon layers; the payoff is a lighter, stiffer, more durable frame with an interior as finished as the exterior and a more resilient, lively ride quality; HC, introduced in 2013, has enabled Fuji to sig-nificantly reduce frame weight – at just 820 grams, the Altamira SL is currently the lightest bike Fuji has ever produced .

• 2 series frames are constructed of Fuji’s C5 high-modulus carbon that is both high-strength and lightweight .

• Tapered head tube and fork enhance steering precision .

• Oversized downtube and chain-stays increase torsional stiffness for superior pedaling efficiency .

• Press-Fit BB86 bottom bracket positions the bearings further apart, increasing overall stiffness, reducing flex, and maximizing power transfer .

• Super-thin seatstays reduce weight and increase ride comfort through controlled flex over rougher terrain; the stays absorb the maximum amount of road vibration and supply greater compliance for long days in the saddle – perfect for stage racers .

THE STORYThe Altamira was named after Cantabria, Spain’s prehistoric 35,000-year-old Altamira caves filled with Paleolithic drawings – especially Bison . Upon discovery, the caves were deemed the earliest example of human devel-opment and creative expression . With Fuji’s new racing platform marking a monumental milestone in the development of Fuji carbon road bikes, Fuji decided that “Altamira” was the perfect name and perfect way to pay tribute to the Cantabrian-based team they partnered with for three years to help design it – originally Fuji-Servetto, then Footon-Servetto, then Geox TMC . And so the Fuji Altamira was born . And a year after it was launched, in September 2011 at the Vuelta a España, the Altamira won its first grand tour – by a Cantabrian rider known as “The Bison” no less: Geox-TMC’s Juan Jose Cobo .

VALIDATIONIn its three years on the pro circuit, the Altamira has earned 18 victories – including a grand tour title, two Vuelta stage wins, a Tour of California stage win, and a Czech National Road Championship title . Renown for its ability to float uphill, many of its victories have come on queen stage summit fin-ishes, such as the Vuelta’s infamous Angliru and Peñas Blancas, the Giro del Trentino’s Fai della Paganella, and the Tour of California’s Mt . Diablo . The Altamira is currently being raced professionally by Team NetApp-Endura .

THE RIDERSerious female road riders and racers in search of an ultra lightweight, responsive carbon road bike that provides the perfect fit .


of Fuji’s ultra high-modulus C10 carbon, and the 2 series frames: Fuji’s C5 high-modulus carbon; both are lightweight, high-strength, and feature layup schedules tailored specifically to a woman’s traditionally lighter body mass .

• Utilizes women’s-specific ge-ometry designed to cater to the inherent anatomical differences between men and women – the hallmarks of which are a shorter top tube, narrower handlebars, and short-reach brake levers that provide greater comfort and thus confidence .

THE STORYA sponsor of the first U .S . THE STORYThree years in the making, the Norcom Straight was launched in May 2013 under the mantra: Fit Comes First . The pinnacle of Fuji innovation, design, and engineering, the Norcom Straight was developed in the A2 Wind Tun-nel to be one of the fastest bikes in the world . FEATURES AND BENEFITS• 1 series SLM frames are construct-

ed of Fuji’s top-of-the-line c15 carbon, with a new carbon lay up introduced last year that shaved off nearly 300 grams for an ultra-low frame weight: less than 1000 grams (size medium) .

• Oversized tapered head tube meets the top tube and downtube in a massive junction to keep the front end stiff for precise steering control – confidence-inspiring when cornering at high speeds .

• Uniquely shaped, oversized downtube amplifies torsional stiffness and maximizes power transfer .

• High-end 100mm-travel fork with tunable compression and rebound damping allows riders to dial in the perfect feel, plus remote lockout allows for quick switches in changing terrain .

• 1 series models use Oval Con-cepts M600 series aluminum cranks with a 35mm spindle – the largest diameter BB spindle in the industry – that offers the optimum combination of light weight and stiffness to make every pedal rotation count; the crank also features Praxis Works aluminum, cold-forged chainrings that offer more shifting options and are lighter and stronger than CNC’d chainrings .

• 1 series models feature a Praxis Works M35 bottom bracket that combines the advantages of an oversized, super-stiff, aluminum spindle with external bearings that provide support at the widest stance – thus increasing stiffness of the entire system; the pro-prietary Praxis system fits within a standard Press-Fit 30 bottom bracket – it’s not yet another new BB standard, merely a different style compatible with current PF30 frames that increases stiff-ness .

• 430mm hyper-short, asymmetrical chainstays – among the shortest in the industry – supply superior efficiency and nimble handling, especially on tight singletrack .

• Chainstay-mounted rear brake caliper positions the rear brake in the ideal position between the two stays out of the way, minimiz-ing the torsional forces of the rear wheel while braking .

• 142 x 12mm rear thru axle se-curely joins the hub to the frame, strengthening lateral stiffness in the rear triangle for improved pedaling efficiency .

• Internal cable routing protects cables from dirt and debris for consistent shifting .

THE STORYFuji began its quest to produce the fastest cross country hardtail on the market with the introduction of the SLM in 2009 and saw early success when Fuji-sponsored athlete Annika Langvad won back-to-back Marathon World Championships aboard the SLM in 2010 and 2011 . In 2014, the SLM was completely redesigned to be even lighter and better-handling, with its geometry revamped to emphasize speed and power above all: a short wheelbase with exceptionally short chainstays to slice through tight singletrack, paired with a long and low top tube and short head tube for an aggressive rider position .
