and complete solar system solution for industrial customers, designed, delivered and installed the panels. Royal Cargo Projects and Heavylift unit also assisted in the lifting requirements of the panels.

According to Vice President for Cold Storage Operations, Mr. Alexander Dogma, Jr., Royal Cargo’s vision is to move towards being environment friendly, “With the Solar panels, we’re now going green. This is a long term project wherein we upgrade to a renewable source of energy, reduce our energy cost, and we reduce our carbon footprints.” Mr. Dogma explained that “the cold storage facility has demanding needs in maintaining the low temperature to preserve the quality of the goods being stored. Shifting our gears to renewable energy is a brilliant idea to maximize the abundance of solar energy in a tropical country.”

Royal Cargo recently unveiled the first-ever Solar-powered warehouse facility in the Philippines after the successful installation of a 245KW Photovoltaic (PV) or Solar panel System in its Cold Storage warehouse at the Laguna International Industrial Park (LIIP) in Biñan, Laguna.

The Solar panel system may store over 300,000 kilowatt hour (kwh) annually and is capable of generating and providing fifty (50) percent load of electricityfor the cold storage during daytime.

The panels which were carefully attached to roof-based mounting supports cover a total roof area of 1634 square meters (sqm), are expected to supply the thirty (30) percent overall annual electricity consumption of the facility. Royal Cargo unveils First Solar-poweredWarehouse in the Philippines

becomes unstable. Considering the weather condition in the Laguna area all throughout the year, a special Grid and System Protection is in place.

The installation of Solar panel system is another step towards realizing the company’s mission of caring for the community and the environment.

Royal Cargo Group CEO Mr. Michael K. Raeuber said “We are very happy to be the first company to secure the license to install renewable energy source of more than 100kW and we are glad to once again be a pioneer in the industry. Royal Cargo is very much honored to promote sustainable and renewable energy.” He also added that the company is considering the installation of similar solar panel systems to other offices and facilities in the coming years.

The system is equipped with special features including Solar Power Management and Solar Power Optimization. These features allow the sudden reduction or increase of solar power production in cases when demand for energy

2015 ANNUAL PHYSICAL EXAMINATION ROLLS OUT

The Annual Physical Examination was recently rolled out to all the Head office and branch employees of the Royal Cargo group.

All regular employees availed of the comprehensive medical examination including chest x-ray, dental and visual acuity check up, complete blood count (CBC), electrocardiogram (ECG), and pap smear.

The Projects and Heavylift department of Royal Cargo Inc. joined the Power Logistics Asia last November 18 - 19, 2015 held at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre in Singapore.

The Power Logistics Summit aims to convene clients together with the leading project transportation and heavylift providers in Asia.

Royal Cargo is Philippines’ 2015 Project Logistics Service Provider according to Frost & Sullivan.

Using the same domain: www.royalcargo.com, the new website enables users to view contents and navigate through the site using either a desktop or smartphone with ease and comfort. The website also features the Royal Cargo Trackplus, the track and trace system that provides live updates on all shipments.

Royal Cargo Inc in partnership with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) recently

launched the free mobile renewal of NBI clearance for all regular employees of the company

based in its headquarters in Paranaque City.

The activity is part of the requirements for the recertification of the license for Transported

Asset Protection Association (TAPA), a global non profit organization that ensures safe and

secure transport, storage and warehousing of goods and the company’s vision to be a world

class logistics service provider.

HSSE KICKS OFF Q3 HEALTH AND SAFETY TRAININGS

SPEX - BSB MONTHLY HSSE MEETING & PROJECT RECOGNITION AWARDS held last November 10, 2015. Royal Cargo Inc. and Shell Philippines Exploration (SPEX) conducted the Monthly HSSE Meeting and Project Recognition Awards for the continuous improvement of the Batangas Supply Base (BSB) Warehouse at the Batangas Port in Batangas City.

Royal Cargo received a number of recognitions for delivering BSB MM Photo/Visual Aide, No Expired Paints to be Disposed and BSB Monitoring Files as part of the continuous improvement efforts for the said facility.

The Health, Safety, Security, and Environment department of Royal Cargo Inc. conducted a series of Health & Safety Trainings for the third quarter of 2015:

DEFENSIVE DRIVING & ROAD SAFETY TRANSPORT TRAINING held last November 14 and 15, 2015 in Muntinlupa City and Parañaque City, respectively. The QHHSE deparment of RCI conducted the Defensive Driving and Road Safety Transport training to all drivers, helpers, truckers, and haulers serving the Domestic Inland Haulage operations and sub-contractors providing services to Brokerage, International Freight Forwarding, and the different branches of RCI to ensure that all staff are informed on their roles and responsibilities in the operations.

IN VEHICLE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (IVMS) TRAINING held last November 9, 2015 at the office of Own Fleet Department, Property 3 in Parañaque City. RCI conducted the training to all drivers and helpers regarding the IVMS, a system that helps monitor speed, accelaration, and aggressive braking to avoid road risks.

Puerto Galera Yacht Club Inc., commended Royal Cargo Inc. for its outstanding support as principal sponsor to the 2015 Royal Cargo All Souls Regatta which was held last October 30, 31 and November 1st in Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro.

On the said event, 25 yachts participated in both challenging and exciting races on all three days of events. Royal Cargo also provided all guests and participants with high quality caps and shirts.

Royal Cargo supports PGYC to promote sailing in the country, and to support local under privileged children under the PGYC’s educational program.

Also, PGYC congratulates Royal Cargo, led by the Group CEO Mr. Michael K. Raeuber, on capturing first place on the overall regatta category.

The Royal Cargo Inc. is one of the proud contributors of the Bright

Future Foundation. The foundation builds schools and classrooms

in remote areas in different parts of the world. They have an on-

going projects in Mindanao, Philippines and in Coralillo, Cuba.

Led by Mr. Fred Schlottmann, Bright Future Foundation in

Mindanao currently schools over 250 unfortunate students,

both children and adults, who are inclined to learn and study.

The Cuba arm of the foundation is in the developmental stage of

setting up the school but has started teaching locals in a rented

space of a Catholic church.

Royal Cargo fully supports the Bright Future Foundation in its

endeavors to teach underprivileged children and adults. This

Corporate Social Responsibility activity is part of the company’s

mission to care for the welfare of the community.

The Royal Cargo Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Michael K. Raeuber was named the Jones Lang Lasalle (JLL) Expatriate Executive of the Year at the Asia CEO Awards held last November 11, 2015 at the Marriott Hotel Manila in Pasay City.

Michael, the overall chief and founder of Royal Cargo has steered the firm towards immense growth and success in the past years. The firm recorded an average of 43% revenue growth rate in the past three (3) years while being listed as one of only two (2) logistics companies amongst the top 500 corporate taxpayers in the Philippines. Under his directives, Royal Cargo expanded its operations in the United States of America before the start of the year 2015 and launched the first Solar-powered warehouse in the Philippines. To date, the company continuously grows and enhances its capabilities by acquiring new assets, equipment, properties, and investing in advanced technology.

The JLL Expatriate Executive Award is awarded to the a non-Filipino executive who achieved measurable success while overseeing a business enterprise within the Philippines and whose accomplishments have madestrong contributions to the development of the country’s economic capabilities. Asia CEO Awards, the award-giving body, recognizes the distinctive achievements and highlights many of the most accomplished management teams and industry leaders in Southeast Asia. Some of the other awards given were Technology Company of the Year, Green Company of the Year, Most Innovative Company of the Year, Young Leader of the Year, and Global Filipino Executive of the year.

Present in the awarding ceremonies to support Mr. Raeuber are Royal Cargo management team including RCI President Mr. Elmer Francisco Sarmiento, RCI COO Mr. Andrew K. Raeuber, Mrs. Leny Raeuber, Mr. and Mrs. Colin and Maggie Van Roon, Mr. Christian Raueber, Ms. Risa Aoki, Mr. Sebastian Raueber, and Ms. Francine delos Reyes.

Hosted by HR Manager, Ms. Janet Husmillo and Marketing and

Communications Specialist, Reymer Salvador, the program was

followed by group presentations of each department on how they

exercise self-discipline in their duties and responsibilities at work.

Contract Logistics - AGC bagged the third prize; Freight division

got the 2nd prize, and the Customs Clearance & Brokerage (CCB)

& TMW department grabbed the grand prize.

Royal Cargo marked the 37th anniversary of the company last

October 1, 2015 through a Staff Town Hall meeting at the head

office’s yard in Parañaque City.

WIth the theme “Self-Discipline: The Common Trait of All

Successful Business People,” the program commenced with

the opening remarks from the President of Royal Cargo Inc, Mr.

Elmer Francisco U. Sarmiento. He welcomed all employees and

shared some of the highlights including the 43% revenue growth

rate of the company in the past three years. Mr. Sarmiento also

encouraged the Royal Cargo family to be open to change and

advancements as it is the key towards fulfilling the company’s

vision to be a world-class logistics provider.

As a tradition every Staff Town Hall meeting, the top management

including Group CEO Mr. Michael K. Raeuber; President, Mr.

Elmer U. Sarmiento; and Chief Operating Officer (COO), Mr.

Andrew K. Raeuber entertained questions from the ranks, and laid

the plans of the company for the next year.

A guest speaker, Mr. Rudy Vitangcol also entertained guests

with his mini discussion about self-discipline and positive attitude

towards work.

In closing, Group CEO, Mr. Michael K. Raeuber also expressed

his gratitude to the Royal Cargo family for the dedication and hard

work. He also cited that the most precious asset of the company,

its people, has enabled the company to propel and grow in the

past several years.

After the program, the Royal Cargo family shared a sumptuous

dinner.

Q3 SCOREBOARD

For the Office category, the top 3 are the Premium Courier Office Area and Cold Warehouse, Finance and Treasury Department (FTD) and Global Cost Center (GCC) and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) with the scores of 97.23, 96.86, and 95, respectively.

As for the Warehouse category, the top 3 score leaders are the LLC Laguna Dry Warehouse and Office Area with 94.84 points, CL LIIP Dry and Cold Warehouses and Office Area with 90.51 points, and LLC Batangas Dry Warehouse and Office Area with 89.22 points while for the Branch Office Category, Freight Angeles Office led the scoreboard with 99.00 points, followed by the Freight Laguna Office with 97.64 points then, Freight Cavite Office with 96.04 points.

ONE LAST PUSH: PHL Bags 2015 Basketball Title

Events

PARAÑAQUE – HEADS just won’t give up but PHL/OFD/MEMD is indeed eager and determined to win the title.

Capping its dominant stint, PHL/OFD/MEMD concluded this year’s tourney bagging the championship title as they bounced back from a loss on the second game eking out a 68-58 victory over the spirited HEADS side in the best-of-three deciding match of the 2015 Royal Cargo Basketball Tournament Season 9 at Olivarez Gymnasium. The tournament started last August 12 and ended last September 18, Championship Game.

HEADS took control of the match in the first quarter and gave PHL/OFD/MEMD an upsetting 20-25 lead heading to the second quarter. PHL/OFD/MEMD rebounded mightily to steer the opponent but they were sent on their knees when Willieboy Gimena thwarted three (3) solid 2-point-shots making it 20-31 on the first half of the second quarter but this 11 points margin was more of a challenge for the PHL/OFD/MEMD than a menace.

PHL/OFD/MEMD Team secures the Championship Title for 2015

After rebuilding some momentum, PHL/OFD/MEMD averted a meltdown and survived HEADS with Froilan Espinosa, Jr., Patrick Ramayrat and JR Peralta combined a total of fifteen (15) points of solid acrobatic baskets and hearty three-point-shots overhauling HEADS with 35-34 closing the second quarter of the play.

The crowd croaked louder and wilder as both teams put up a fight on the beginning of the third quarter. HEADS’ gents put together seventeen (17) points ahead of PHL/OFD/MEMD cagers with fifteen (15) points on the third period hammering out a close 50-52 in favor of HEADS.

An Espinosa kill for two (2) forged a tie, 52-all, opening the breath taking final quarter of the game. Espinosa and Peralta together poured it all out to finish, overcoming a nine-point deficit at the first half of the last quarter to hand HEADS another blowout loss. PHL/OFD/MEMD was only ahead of one (1), 57-56 before HEADS go scoreless for nearly last five (5) minutes.

56 points while the gritty-impregnable PHL/OFD/MEMD cagers continued to run smack against the opponent’s stonewall defense and quickly outscored HEADS with a vexing 61-56 entering the last three (3) minutes of the game.

The very eager and determined PHL/OFD/MEMD didn’t stop there. They continued to drive improbable shots creating a higher margin until their last seconds on the floor

and made a double digit lead 68-58 victory against HEADS. The very powerful and extremely well-coordinated PHL/OFD/MEMD who really proved themselves claimed the 2015 Basketball Championship Title on their triumphant ONE LAST PUSH.

HEADS tumbles down to 2nd place, CCB/TMW/LLC (Green) bagged 3rd Place, FREIGHT/TRUCKING (Orange) queued up at 4th, followed by CL DRY (Black) and CL COLD (Blue) trailed at 6th.

For the individual awards, Froilan Espinosa, Jr. and JR Peralta of PHL/OFD/MEMD hailed as the Final’s MVP and Season’s MVP respectively.Reymer Salvador of HEADS brought home the Sportsmanship Award. Beverly Dimaano of CCB/TMW/LLC won as Best Muse. Wilfred Cerico and Beverly Carpio of CCB/TMW/LLC, Froilan Espinosa, Jr. and JR Peralta of PHL/OFD/MEMD and Norman Matas of HEADS was awarded as the Mythical 5.

All winners received cash prizes and tokens; trophy for each competing team, best muse and MVPs and medals for the Sportsmanship Award and Mythical 5.

SHELL RECOGNIZES ROYAL CARGO TEAM

Last November 5, 2015, Shell Tabangao Asset Renewal (STAR) - Tabangao Refinery EURO IV Compliance (TREC) Project of the Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation (PSPC) recognized the Projects & Heavylift Team of Royal Cargo Inc. together with Royal Cargo Singapore for the successful delivery of two (2) tons of Aluminized Steel Jacketing Type 2 material to the Philippines.

Royal Cargo team was commended for extending valuable working hours to expedite the delivery in less than thirty six (36) hours from the time of advise. The team bettered the industry benchmark of five (5) weeks lead time.

shell philippines grants royal cargo’s customs clearance with 10 years goal zero

Shell Philippines recently granted Royal Cargo’s Customs Clearance with the 10 Years Goal Zero Award given during the Quarterly Contract Owners/Holders, Contract Managers, and CSOF HSSE Leadership Forum held last October 27, 2015 in Alabang.

The Goal Zero Award is given to all contractors and suppliers that achieved an exemplary performance in the fulfillment of their duties for all the Shell Philippines project partnerships.

Royal Cargo Inc. is one of the long-time partners of Shell who provides several services including customs clearance, trucking and car fleet.
