ANNUAL APIG NATIONAL CONFERENCE & GALA DINNER2015

President’s Welcome Welcome to the ninth Annual

APIG National Conference and Gala Dinner.

The australian Professional Indemnity Group Inc (aPIG) is proud to present its National Conference and Gala Dinner in the association’s 20th anniversary.

aPIG was founded to provide educational and networking opportunities to financial lines professionals and has grown, with events held across the nation every month.

We are a vibrant community within the insurance industry, and the association continues to evolve with the financial lines market. We are now discussing not only the more traditional lines of D&O and PI insurance, but have grown to consider a range of products, including Statutory Liability, Cyber Liability and Warranty & Indemnity insurance. Not only have the product lines we consider expanded, but the breadth of skills expected of our professionals has correspondingly grown. Whether it is managing distribution through technology, understanding international exposures affecting Australian businesses or responding to rapidly evolving legal framework governing securities class actions, it is not surprising that the education needs of financial lines professionals are higher than ever.

at the National Conference this year, we are pleased to bring you a range of industry experts to share their insights across many of the current industry hot topics. The Conference is designed to generate discussion and I encourage your participation throughout the day. This focus on participation also underpins the design of the Fundamentals sessions, which are interactive workshops to maximise delegate engagement.

aPIG events throughout the year, including the National Conference and the Gala Dinner, continue to be well attended and we thank you for your continued support and involvement. I look forward to seeing you during the day.

OVERVIEWThe annual aPIG National Conference and Gala Dinner continues to be the pre-eminent australian insurance industry event for professionals in financial lines. The Conference provides an excellent opportunity for underwriters, claims personnel, brokers, lawyers, insureds, adjusters and other third party service providers from across the Directors’ & Officers’ Liability (D&O), Professional Indemnity (PI) and related sectors to hear from and to network with industry experts and leaders from around australia and overseas.

We will be looking at a range of emerging issues affecting our industry, including the impact of cyber risk materialisation for australian companies, implementing innovation in our industry, what keeps company directors up at night, class actions and litigation funding, coverage for inquiries and investigations, and many more. We invite you to get involved in our workshops, contribute to the panel discussions and join the debates throughout the day.
