Dear Friends of CMH:
Did you know that the game Monopoly was created over a century ago to
teach young people lessons about money, property, and economics? It did
so in a way that stepped back from a rough and tumble world and, hopefully,
made learning some of life’s lessons simpler and even enjoyable.
Crusaderopoly: An Evening on the Boardwalk – maybe it gives us some of the
lessons about value, investment, and success; certainly it provides the
opportunity for fun, enjoyment, and even some friendly competitions. All of
this in balance is a nice reflection of Catholic Memorial High School – our
families, our teaching, our experiences, and our joy.
While our mission is no game, CMH is a safe environment where, in the light
of faith, young people learn life’s lessons surrounded by great
encouragement and tremendous joy. But, unlike a game where only one
player wins, tonight we celebrate all of us winning. A better school, a
supportive community of parents, alumni and alumni parents sharing a
celebration, a successful effort to close the annual gap between tuition and
the real cost of education. In these, we are all winners!
Celebrate and share our success tonight. Pass “Go” as often as you like. And
please let enthusiasm drive your generosity.
Thank you to the CMH Auction Committee and its many volunteers, led by
current parent Monica Jennaro. Their hours of work and devotion itself
represents all that is good at CMH. Thank you to the Office of Development
staff for their work on this, and so many other projects which support our
mission.
Thank you to the individuals, groups, and companies who made donations in
support of this auction and of CMH.
Most importantly, THANK YOU! Your generosity allows this Evening on the
Boardwalk to be a winning moment for CMH.
Our Lady of Memorial, pray for us!
Very Reverend Paul B. R. Hartmann, ‘84
President

Welcome to the 2015 Auction! I am thrilled to share this
celebration with you!
This past year has been filled with a transformative energy
that continues to enhance the ways we fulfill our mission to
educate, guide and prepare our students to serve the Church
and the world. Your charitable spirit and dedication to CMH
truly impacts our ability to achieve the goals outlined in
Vision 2020 for 21st century education excellence! 2015 is
going to be a year that allows CMH to take a chance and
build community in new and innovative ways!
In my six years as principal, your support and belief in CMH has enabled the fac-
ulty and me to expand our academic support services, add courses to the Interna-
tional Baccalaureate Program and Project Lead the Way, make physical enhance-
ments to the Learning Commons, and implement the Student Growth Plan. Most
recently, we have also been able to launch Memorial Propel, an innovation pro-
cess designed to energize student thinking and teach creativity, collaboration,
communication, and critical thinking. In partnership with local Catholic universi-
ties and industry partners, we have been able to bring additional faith formation
and educational strategies to our faculty to help them have the best tools and skills
to bring to our students.
You are our partners in helping CMH students reach increasingly high standards
of success. CMH has accomplished the highest ACT average in school history,
we are at a record high for IB diploma candidates, and more students continue to
commit to service projects inside and outside of CMH. Your active participation
in tonight’s events move Vision 2020 forward by providing a portion of the funds
needed to raise standards in all academic programs, increase faculty development
with college and business partnerships and bring innovation and career planning
to our students that will define CMH as the premier choice for all families who
value the gift of Catholic Education and innovative learning.
Many thanks to our sponsors, donors, volunteers, and those in attendance tonight.
I offer special thanks to our Auction Chair, Monica Jennaro, and the entire Auc-
tion committee, especially Susan Christian, Lynn North, Vickie Morrison, Kath-
leen McKnight, Michelle Holt, and Jodi Jacobson for their enthusiasm and energy
in creating an unforgettable evening.
Enjoy your evening! Take a chance! And I hope you go home a winner!

Welcome to CRUSADEROPLY! Thank you for attending the 34th Annual Crusader Auction benefiting Catholic Memorial High School. The past 6 months have been a true Labor of Love as I have gotten to know so many of you! We come to-gether tonight to raise funds and paddles to support the goals of Cath-olic Memorial. In addition, we support our staff as they encourage and mentor our children to become Leaders that will serve their church and world. The key to our success rests in people like you, who em-body the spirit of greatness by saying “Yes I can!” It has been amazing to see our motto, Caritas in Omnibus, come to life! Take a look around and marvel at the tremendous generosity, dedica-tion, and endless hours that have gone into transforming our school into what you see tonight! From the creative decorations, invitations, programs, to the signage displayed throughout the room and beyond, our talented volunteers have not missed a thing. We are truly apprecia-tive of EVERY parent, student, staff, donor, and sponsor who has come together to make this evening a reality! We have discovered hidden talents and treasures in our CMH Community and cannot begin to show our gratitude! So…Do Not Pass Go, instead Go Directly to the Silent Auction tables and start bidding! We aren’t playing with Monopoly Money tonight; we are investing real money into our children’s future! So let’s take a stroll down the Boardwalk, Roll the Dice, and have some fun! With Gratitude, Monica Jennaro ‘83
