Personal Counseling: The college does not employ an expert counselor. However, the
faculty members support students through counseling for their various needs to address
educational, social, psychological and financial issues. The high dropout rate in higher
education is mainly due to social and financial impediments. Girl students are
particularly victims of social constraints where the parents are not in favor of their
daughters pursuing higher education. The college attempts to address both social and
psychological issues relating to academic and career orientation of the students. Student
Counseling is at two levels, individual to a student at personal level and group
counseling.
Student’s Level: Generally individual teacher monitors the behavior and attendance of
students in the class room. The teacher interacts with the students with poor attendance
record. When taken into confidence the students reveal the reasons for his failure to
attend classes. The reasons are chiefly economical. Many of the students work in their
fields or even do labor work to support their families.
The staff members extend financial support to such students. However, all such actions
are never brought on the record. Many of the faculty members meet parents to know the
problems and difficulties faced by their wards and render suitable remedy.
Group Counseling: At the beginning of every academic year the college Principal and
senior members of the faculty give an opening address to the students elaborating on
academic opportunities, career prospects and opportunities for financial support available
to students. The lectures are informative as well as morale boosters for the students.
Students are also informed about various support services available in the college. They
are advised to contact the Principal or any other faculty member if they face any
problem.
Parents Counseling: The college organizes a special event for the parents of the girl
students. Under this event mothers of girl students are invited to the college. The parents
are shown the various facilities the college provides for their daughters and also stress on
the social security made available for the girl students. This activity is carried out to
boost the confidence among the parents regarding the social security of their daughters.
Lectures under Vidhyarthini Munch were organized.
Medical Checkup program was arranged for the first year students of all faculties.

FEEDBACK ANALYSIS
Feedback from Students:
The college collects feedback from students on the “overall teaching and learning
programme” in the first semester / term of academic year. The feedback has fifteen probes.
Students respond for the probes on the course content they attended. The analysis of the
feedback gives an idea as to applicability of the course content and to contemporary needs.
Besides, identifying lacunae, the concerned teachers also interact with the students. The
information so obtained is communicated to the concerned members.
Feedback from Alumni: The college conducts yearly alumni meet. The past students are vital source of feedback on
the current trends and in job-oriented skills required for the students.
The feedback from alumni is always instrumental for starting new degree and certificate
programmes in the college.
Feedback from Employers: The college has linkages with some of the industries, financial institutions, banks and
business establishments. Pharmaceuticals and Forbes are regular recruiters of our students.
The college also conducts capabilities of the students. This also provides a tool to assess the
holistic evaluation of the curriculum.

Best Practices:
Best Practice I:
EYE DONATION PROGRAMME IN COLLABORATION WITH YASHWANT
SAMAJIK PRATISHTAN
Goal:
To inculcate team spirit among the students
To enlarge the social responsibilities
To strengthen the sense of integrity
The Context:
A number of news at national level and local level proves the fact that the sense of social
responsibility is badly suffering. Education is looked merely as a means by which monetary
gains can be accomplished. Institutes of national reputation aim at providing education,
which shall meet only the jobs of higher salaries and fat packages. In the haste, moral values
like social responsibilities are forgotten. The college believes a strong nation can only built;
if the quality education is intertwined with social values. There are thousands of people who
can‟t see the beautiful world due to the loss of sight. A very few efforts have been made at
national level for eye donation. Considering this, The College resolved for the eye donation
drive in collaboration with Yashwant Samajik Pratishthan, Sonai.
The Practice:
With the motive that we too owe something to society, the Mission of Eye-donation was
started on the occasion of the Birthday of Hon‟ble Yashwantrao Gadakh on 12th
May 2010 in
the presence of Saint Bhaskargiri Maharaj at the holy place Deogadh. On the very day 9000
rural folk from common families as well as from all strata of society filled in the resolution
forms FOR EYE DONATION and made it a historical event. Since then the forms of the eye
donation forms are being filled in. At present, 26,000 people have filled and submitted the
resolution forms with the Pratishtan. 251 people have donated their eyes thereby benefitting
directly 502 blinds.
Eye donation mementos have been presented to the family members of the eye donors in
order to honor them for the social work. All the members of the Pratishtan experienced the
fact that people from different communities and religions voluntarily communicated their
wish for eye donation. Today the activists of the Pratishtan and the students of the college
create awareness among the people by visiting villages after villages. The activists of the
Pratishtan and the students and staff of the college have been successful in imbibing the
culture: „Eye donation is the sublime donation‟. Instead of burying or cremating, if the dead
body can help to kindle the light in the life of blinds, then the act would turn out to be the
supreme service to humanity.
Today the students and the activists relay documentary film at different villages to create
awareness among the rural masses. On different occasions students, parents, alumni and

others are encouraged to fill in the eye donation forms. Such campaigns were organized as

Evidence of Success: The success of the practice is evidenced by:
Appreciation of the events by community, NGOs and the local representatives of news
media.
The Limca Book of World Record took notice of the act of registering the resolution forms
in such massive numbers
The change in the attitude of students; the volunteers and the cadets also realize the sense
of responsibility.
Shildhi Pratishtan, Shirdi honored the President of Yashwant Pratishtan; Prashant Gadakh.
As an outcome of this mission, Association of Business Communicator took cognizance of
the work of eye donation of the Pratishtan and conferred the national level award on
Prashant Patil Gadakh, President of Yashawant Samajik Pratishtan at the hands of noted
European industrialist; Malezin Belt.
Problems Encountered and Resources Required:
The act of donating eyes of the close relative in the midst of sorrow of the death itself is a
painful act. So the students and the activists have to take a lot of efforts to convince the
family for eye donation.
People in rural area know very little about the eye donation process. The problems
encountered while inculcating and popularizing eye donation among the students and the
people were both of psychological and awareness related.
Today there is a very scanty facility is available for providing medical services required for
eye donation and eye transplant in rural area. A well equipped van is required for
transporting and the medical surgery of transplanting the eyes, as the grace period of the eyes
after death is very short.

Best Practices:
Best Practice II: ORGANISATION OF WORKSHOPS FOR TEACHERS AND
ADMINS OF THE SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES IN THE VICINITY
Goal:
To foster current competencies in the employees
To revive learning spirit in the participants
To strengthen the subject knowledge through the interaction
To bridge the gap of communication among the teachers of the same subject at different
stages
The Context:
Usually education of student is moderately divided into three stages viz. 1 std. to 10 std.
(primary/secondary education), 11 std. to 12 std. (higher secondary education) and 12std.
onwards higher education. A few subjects like English, Marathi, Science, etc. are taught at
all the three levels. However, it has observed that one of the reasons of failure in these
subjects is due to gap of communication among the teachers who taught at these different
levels. Workshops are arranged by the Govt. or regulatory bodies for the teachers at these
stages separately, where the teachers of the three stages cannot exchange their ideas under
one roof. Primary teachers cannot exchange their problems/ ideas with secondary teachers
and similarly higher secondary teachers cannot do so with teachers in higher education. Due
to this gap of communication, students suffer. The basics of the subject remain poor.
It was also observed that many best practices related to office administration and office work
in other institutes remain ignored due to lack of exchange of ideas.
The Practice:
The meetings of the departments were convened to discuss and earmark difficult topics in the
subject. The report of the meeting was submitted to the Principal of the college for the
approval for arranging the workshops. Timetable and the schedule were chalked out by
taking into consideration other programmes of the college. The invitation cards and request
letters to the heads of other schools and colleges were sent. The information of the
participant teachers and admin members was collected well in advance.
The following workshops were arranged:
1. A Two Day Workshop on „English Grammar and Pronunciation for Primary and
Secondary Teachers‟ was organized during 11-12 Jan. 2016. Prof. S.S. Gadkarai, Vice
Principal, Rahuri college, Prin. Manisha Sathe, MPS, Sonai, Prof. Hemant Sharma,
Coordinator, MES, Prin. Dr. V.K. Deshmukh, CEO, MES Were the Chief Guest and
Resource Person. Total 50 Teachers of Different Schools Participated in the Workshop.
2. A Two Day Workshop on „ vyakaran v vyavharik upyojit Marathi’ (Grammar and
Applied Marathi) was organised during 15 – 16 Feb. 2016 for the secondary teachers of
the schools of Mula Education Society, Sonai.

3. Workshop on „Empowerment of office‟ for teaching and non- teaching staff was
organised by IQAC on 18 Mar. 2016. Dr. S.K. Zinzurde, New Arts, Com. And Science
College, Ahmednagar, Mr. Shivajirao Sable, Senate member, SPPU, Pune and Prin. Dr.
G.B.Kalhapure guided the participants. 45 members participated and actively interacted
with the experts.
Evidence of Success: The success of the practice is evidenced by:
Appreciation of the events by the participants.
Around 150 participants from different schools/ institutes attended the workshop
The feedback underlines the importance of workshop.
Computer based activities is appreciated by the participants.
The improvement in computer related skills of teachers.
Problems Encountered and Resources Required:
Participants yet have to get acquainted with the culture of workshop. The heads of other schools
and institutes were reluctant to send teachers to attend the workshop due to their busy schedule.
Yet the college requires a well-equipped auditorium to arrange the workshop. Due to load
shedding, power cut of electricity some time creates problems, so full back up of Electricity
Invertors are required.
